Melissa sets out with a clear goal in mind, and finds herself feeling for a temperature drop. Afterall, if there are biomes, they wouldn't be on their own, there would be overlap. So somewhere deep in a cave or forested area could have the ice types she's seeking. After an hour (And possibly spying the ghost girl trough the trees at a couple of intervals), she finds a frosted grove of trees. It's proper chilly now! Time to hunt.
She looks around for a bit, and finds something rather interesting. A snow-flake looking pokemon is frosting the area. Huh, maybe that's how it's maintainted? Maybe there's an agreement with the ice types for upkeep. She uses her dex, and it's a Cryogonical!

"Perfect, Pretorius!" Melissa monologues to her Voltorb companion. "This Cryogonal will both cover our humiliating weakness to Ground-types and satisfy my aesthetic requirements. Look at the symmetry! The clean lines! The sharp edges! Yes, this will do very nicely."
She begins charging little metal gizmos with electricity, in preparation for the fight to come.
(Using Bottled Lightning to store a Shock Wave and - if the Cryogonal doesn't react to that - a Charge Beam)

The first move just confuses the ice-type. The second it dodges in a panic! Then it fires back quickly. Your 'attack' is not used up frequency wise and this is the beginning of the first round.

"Damnation! Hold still, you confounded crystalline contraption!" Rather than risk breaking the fragile-looking Cryogonal, Pretorius attempts to leap atop it and bear it to the ground so Melissa has an easier time hitting it. Pretorius attempts a Dirty Trick - specifically, Low Blow VX2SQi8k1d20+1 vs AC 2 Opposed Acrobatics: 2d6+1 If Pretorius wins, the Cryogonal is Vulnerable for 1 round, and has its Initiative reduced to 0.

The Cryogonal doesn't even have a chance to fight back before it's captured!
Cryogonal is level 5, Male, with Levitate and whatever nature you'd like.

"Success! Ahahahahahahaha!"Melissa pauses for breath. "Ahahaha!"A minute or so later, she finally stops. "Ah, I needed that. I still have two Pokeballs left... but if I come out with multiple Pokemon I'm sure someone will notice. I suppose I'd better not risk it. But what to do to occupy time, since I'm sure I caught my Pokemon much faster than most of those bumbling buffoons back at the Research Center..."In the end she decides to take the scenic route back, scanning for mineral deposits and resonant crystals along the way. As Melissa dowses, she is approached by a red-haired woman in rather johtoian looking garb.
"Hello Doctor. What are you doing out here by your lonesome I wonder? I saw you run off with those others before like you were good friends. Where did they go?"
She smirks.

Melissa snorts. "Friends? I think not. I've barely met them; none of them have yet proven themselves worthy of me remembering their names, much less calling them friends." She eyes the red-haired woman. "You seem to be acquainted with me already, but I don't recall you."

She pauses for a moment, mulling the first answer over.
"Well. We'll see about that."
She smirks again.
"And as for how I know you... well lets just say your entrance... and voice... carries."

"Oh don't mind me. I'm not participating. I'm just here watching over a friend of mine. She left rather 'suddenly' last time we met. You met her, actually. She's... got her secrets. Some that might interest you. Ask about how she flew to the roof earlier. In exchange for that, pass along a message. Tell her 'Shio's watching'."
She turns away into the forest.
"And... watch your back, doctor."

Melissa rolls her eyes as the other woman vanishes into the trees. "As if I didn't already know that. Thanks for nothing, lady." She returns to her meandering journey back towards the Oak Research Center.

The Voltorb takes this attack with a stoicism unusual for its species. Its owner, however... "Hah! Crush this interloper, Pretorius!"
