The flurry of blows means that the demonic bird is able to find no purchase amongst the group, though it does screech and manage to clear off the ice on its wings. The Tyrantrum and Cradily aren't so fortunate, held at bay with nothing to show. It doesn't keep the Cradily from trying again, though, grasping at the group, though Kai manages to jump away. The Tyrantrum, knocked back enough to even lose ground, stares at its escaping victims - who are now halfway to safety - before inhaling... and breathing out a swarm of letters that fly past the Trainers and Pokémon, unleashing bursts of energy before dispersing into the ether around. Cole, Theo, and Six are able to avoid the various bursts, but the other three aren't so fortunate. Its payload delivered, the demon dino begins its chase once more. Archeops takes damage from Frozen, and cures it.
Pepper takes 20 damage from Hidden Power. Kai takes 20 damage from Hidden Power. Coronet takes 1 damage from Hidden Power.
Grapples - Theo: 14, Six: 14, Cole: 17, Pepper: 13, Coronet: 11

Both Cole and Pepper can't seem to get a bead on the beast that had ahold of them, as both flail helplessly. A swing and a miss on Cradily by both

Kai moves in to try and shove off the tentacled horror, tripping on a shoelace that had come loose from the sprinting. He barely caught himself, making sure to keep on the move even as he stumbled for a moment. Coronet kept firing lines of snow, showering the beast with a dozen appendages and the bird. "Don't reckon feller at the back likes being too far away." Theodore mumbles, sore after the wave of strange Pokemon. "Ain't feeling so hot, maybe it's all th'swaying.". Theodore and Six are ineffectual this round as well.

Coronet's blast causes the tentacles to retract from everyone, allowing them to continue to flee the rapidly encroaching maw behind them, and also wings the bird, but Cole and Pepper still get raked before it retreats farther away. Once again, the Cradily below wraps its tendrils around everyone except Coronet, trying to hold them back... but the exit is not too much farther ahead. Just a little bit more. Cole and Pepper take an injury from Archeops.

Kai grunted as the tendrils managed to finally snag him, swing his arms wildly to try and knock them away. When that failed, he brought his teeth down on one of them, trying to make it let go on it's own. Coronet kept up his pace, making sure to stay beside Kai as he tried to escape the tentacled horror. The white fox opened up his maw and fired off another wave of snow at the charging giant lizard and the bird with teeth, since it seemed the most effective weapon against them so far. Once Kai hits and breaks him free, Cole and Pepper both lash out at the gaping maw, with only Cole himself finding any sort of purchase. Cole uses Struggle on Tyrantrum with an 8 vs AC4
Pepper misses

Theodore attempts to lash out at the bird once more, with Six following up on the close range swipe with a mighty palm strike of it's own. (One hit on Archeops, one on Tyrantrum, struggle was a 7 on an AC 5)

Despite not all connecting, the group acts more-or-less like a well-oiled machine, with the tendrils retreating, the maw behind them not advancing at all, and the bird above only getting one good hit in, slashing Theo. Once more the Cradily's tentacles stake up, with Pepper managing to twist away, and Theo break out, but the others getting snagged. The exit light's so close at this point... another twenty or thirty seconds of running should be enough to reach it... Theo takes an injury. Grapples - Cole: 14, Six: 13, Kai: 11, Coronet: 14

Kai tries to snap his body into the center mass of the tendril covered menace, slipping out of it's grasp as he makes the attempt. "We're almost there! Just gotta keep them off us a little longer!"Coronet wastes no time in firing off a practical wave of snow at the bird and lizard, covering them with ice even as it slips out of the other monsters grasp. Cole quickly punches the bird in its horrifying toothy beak as it swoops close again, while Pepper strikes out at the maw that just doesn't seem to give up. Cole uses Struggle with a 17 vs AC4 on Archeops
Pepper uses Pursuit with a 20 vs AC2 on Tyrantrum

The maw and avian get covered once more in ice, buffeted back - though the demon crunching through the pathway behind them doesn't actually lose any ground on them. The light that's mere meters away now seems to weaken the beings' presence a bit, as only Coronet, Cole, and Pepper have the tendrils manage to properly grasp towards them from below. Tyrantrum is Frozen, Archeops is Frozen. Grapples - Coronet: 15, Cole: 18, Pepper: 20

Kai wastes no time charging the last bit of the way towards the light, only glancing back briefly to let out a shout. "Break them all out Coronet, We aren't losing here!"Coronet wasted no time breaking out of it's hold and giving the creature a frosty close up with it's barrage of snow, the excess falling behind and pelting the dinosaur as well. The white fox then turned tail and began running as well, no time to take chances now! Athletics: 15 Powder Snow VS Cradily and Tyrantrum Acc 18 AC 2

The bird is knocked aside and the tentacles retract in pain as the trio and their 'mon manage to make it through the exit, the patch getting crunched behind them. The previously lit doorway to the tunnel remains black, and... almost seems to bulge outwards, before spewing forth shadowy tendrils formed by thousands of tiny of the letter glyphs. As the protrusions sprawl through the house, the Trainers hurry outside, where the tentacles wave around, extruding from doors and windows, before suddenly bursting apart and vanishing. The house looks serene in the clear sunny day. It's as if nothing had ever happened. But... things clearly did happen. The wounds that the bird dealt are still there. Hearts are still pounding. Bags are... heavier? Looking inside, there seem to be several objects that have appeared within each Trainer's bag. One of the fossils that was taken, and another object - a band, a necklace, and an archaic looking disc. Each Trainer can take a Milestone.
Split between the bags are one each of a Root Fossil, Plume Fossil, and Jaw Fossil. Also within are a Psychic Booster, Psychic Brace, and TM of Psyshock. Decide amongst yourselves who gets what item.

Theodore finds the Psychic Booster and Root Fossil among his belongings (after plodding far enough from the house full clip that there was no chance of anything hauling him back in again). Doubling over, hands on his knees, he examined the deep gouges left by... Whatever that whole experience was. "Wonder... If... We gave that feller some rest in the end." He panted and visibly sagged. He could feel the cold sweat and the way his clothes clung to his body. "Not sure if ah want to ask round town about that place er let sleeping ghosts lie..."

Kai also was out of breath, though he promptly collapsed onto his hands and knees. Only rolling over after he had calmed down enough to actually speak, staring up at the sky. "I don't wanna talk about it unless we're going to set it on fire and never come back here again..."
It took him a minute to realize what he had in his bag, especially since he wasn't exactly in the best state mentally right now. The Plume Fossil and the Psychic Brace were the first thing he found when he went to go grab his water bottle. "Oh... Um, anyone else have a Fossil in there bag or am I crazy?

"We aren't going to burn down a building because we thought we saw a ghost" Definitely saw a ghost. Definitely was chased by and hurt by a ghost. But still, Cole didn't wanna admit that right away
He looked into his bag when the others brought things up, an ancient TM and a Jaw Fossil. Fantastic, a great way to remember something trying to eat them
"Yeah, a fossil for each of the things that tried to kill us, I would assume"
He hiked his bag back over his shoulder "We should get to town and pretend this never happened" He says as he starts to walk away
