The bear again twirls out of the way, though a bit slower than before. It's definitely winded from the poison.
Tackle AC 2 vs 6CYfuODl1d20-3 Damage: 2d6+28
Once the battle is over, Eric congratulates Leon on doing so well. His Spinda is used to fighting his siblings' eeveelutions, which are incredibly tough and versatile.
"Here. Let me take care of your Pokemon as well." Eric whips out a first aid kit and swiftly brings Leon's Pokemon back to full strength.1d20-3·2d6+28

Toadstool was thrown out the smoke, looking heavily injured as Leon ran over worried, quickly returning the mushroom bug, barely glancing at the spinning bear that destroyed his pokemon.
When Eric healed his pokemon for him, any bad feelings about the Spinning Bears or their trainer dissipated. Leon handing over Eric's prize money without any fuss "Wow, those little bears are amazing. Do you know where I could catch one?" Leon asked thoroughly impressed with the dancing bears battle prowess.

Eric ponders for a moment. "Well, they are most commonly found in forests and grasslands. So pretty much anywhere around Saffron. There are a number of interesting Pokemon to the South, in the Vermillion Plains, which is where I found my first. I then found the other five scattered about the varied forest areas. There is a particularly lush area to the south near the ocean that they seem to enjoy frequenting. That's where I met Ash. I named him that because of the volcanic ash that he had made a little fort out of to play with his other Pokemon friends. Apparently, when the wind is just right, it blows volcanic ash from Cinnabar Island directly to that spot and deposits it in large quantities."
Eric goes on to detail how the encounter went down. How he observed the Spinda that would become 'Ash' for several weeks before attempting to approach it. He was especially cautious because he had no Pokemon of his own at the time. Sure, his sisters had offered him an Eevee on several occasions (they breed them to sell/give away to good homes), but he just felt that, as amazing and adorable a Pokemon as Eevee is, it wasn't for him. No, he knew that his ideal Pokemon partner would present themselves to him, not the other way around. He was sure of this. It's part of why he's a Pokemon Researcher. When he saw Spinda for the first time, he just knew that was his perfect partner.

Leon listened more intently to Eric this time managing to fully absorb his words rather than just catch interesting bits of trivia about the little spinning bears. The young man spoke of many interesting things, about the areas surrounding Saffron, such as the Vermillion Plains and a place down on the coast where the ash from Cinnabar Island lands on occasion, and the humorous fact that the one called Ash had even made a fort out of the far-flung particles. Leon made a mental note to visit these places in the future.
Leon brushed aside the mention of Eevees for the moment, he thought he'd heard of the pokemon before, but couldn't remember where. In any case, he was much more interested in the Spindas and sympathised with Eric's choice to use Pokemon that chose him, instead of Pokemon given to him. Though something else Eric had mentioned caught his attention "A Pokemon...Researcher? What does that mean?" Leon asked curiously never having heard the term before

Eric gives you a quizzical look. "I should think the title is self-explanatory. A 'Pokemon Researcher' is one who studies and performs research regarding Pokemon. You won't find a lot in Saffron unless they're either working for the Guild or just eccentric enough to find it more appealing. Most of these people are funded by the Crown, and conduct research from out of Celadon. Still others are merely independent researchers following their passion. I would probably be considered in the latter category, the passionate ones who don't care about funding."

"Oh that makes a lot of sense, the meaning is right in the term. Sorry I've just never heard that term before." Leon said scratching the back of his head "It's great you can be so passionate about something though. Is Spinda the only pokemon you research or is it just the favorite pokemon you've observed so far?" he asked.

Out of nowhere, a single boy steps out. It's the one who looked like the leader before.
"You want a fight, grown up? My top-percentage Raticate and I will give you one! Two on two, go!"
The boy hurls an apricorn ball between the two of you, and, as predicted, a Raticate pops out. It shuffles about, seeming to be bouncing in place like it's ready to go at any moment. The Boy gives his Raticate an inspiring pep talk (Inspired Orders) and commands it to keep moving (Agility Orders). (Youngster Joey uses Commander's Voice as a Standard Action to issue two Orders at once.)
Raticate #1 init - 24 (Agility Training + Orders)
If Raticate moves first, it will use Hyper Fang. If Leon's Pokemon goes first, it will use Sucker Punch as an interrupt if you attack directly. In either scenario, Joey spends 1 AP for Round Trip, letting his Raticate swap out after using an attack.

Leon had let out Stunfisk who was squished between Raticates fangs and started to glow something. Seeming to have absorbed some of the energy of the Raticates attack.
Stunfisk uses Bide is now storing 29 Damage to inflict.

Raticate #2 uses Focus Energy and makes sure to stay a good 6 meters away from Stunfisk so it can't be hit by bide so easily.

Seeing that there was no way to get to Raticate from where he was standing, instead opted to flee moving back before safely releasing the energy into the air.
Stunfisk moves back 4 and uses Bide.

"Come back, #2! #1, go get it!"
Joey uses Quick Switch for 2 AP to swap his active Raticate. He tosses his Apricorn Ball as far as he can, landing the Pokemon within easy striking distance of the cornered Stunfisk. It bares its fangs as it leaps in for the 'kill'.

Stunfisk wiggled vigorously in the Raticates jaws but quickly fell unconscious the shock of the attack too much for him as Leon switched out Toadstool for Stunfisk who responded to the Raticate by trying to blast it with a volley of seed pits.

Toadstool went down like a ton of bricks as Leon was a bit stunned. The speed with which the youngster had torn apart his pokemon seemed to say more about their power then Leon and his teams weakness. Leon returned Toadstool and collected up 10% of his money handing them over to the youngster "You beat me there's no disputing that. Are you a member of the guild? Your pokemon are pretty tough." he said.

"You mean that dumb place that all the adults hang out? No way. I got my own thing here. Kids only! Time for you to leave, adult!" He throws down a smoke bomb that blocks Leon's vision as he collects his winnings and vanishes with only the faint scuffling of feet on stone.
