Leon moved ahead now free of the vortex getting on one side of the Litwick, gathering some shadow on his fist striking out at it.
Rex was left in rough shape by the attack and looked a little green around the gills, but he still did not give up, gnashing his teeth again, accidentally hitting the nerve that was exposed by the chipped tooth causing him pain. He managed to get his teeth sparking and bite into using Leon's distraction to catch it off guard, but fell unconscious just afterward.

With one last morale boost from his trainer, Rex's fangs manage to find purchase in the shadowy form of the Litwick, bringing it down with him.
Leon earns 30 Poke XP.
With three of their number beaten up for seemingly no reason, the other Litwick seem to want to avoid being dragged into a battle. Sure, the Houndour is down and its strange creature follower is weakened, but who knows how many more of those nasty darkfire dogs are around. With the exception of the unconscious ones, the remaining Litwick slowly disperse.

Leon finds some guy with very fancy attire and a cadre of servants exploring the city. He can be overheard commenting on how 'quaint' it is compared to the Capitol, as well as proclaiming his boredom as his servants desperately look for a way to entertain the young Master.

Seeing the desperation on the servants faces Leon walked over "Hello, I couldn't help overhearing your master was bored. Perhaps a quick battle with me could alleviate the problem." he suggested.

Leon didn't know how to feel about being called serf, but at least figured the guy was nicer than the last well-to-do person he fought. At least the guy was talking to him. Seeing him send out Marill Leon thought 'Blue...probably Water-Type, I wasn't planning on using her so soon, but Lavender sops up water.' he thought throwing out her ball the little slime puddle hopping out.

Lavender easily lets her guard down as Leon tried to think of a move 'Hmm...she doesn't have claws so she can't scratch like Ida or Toadstool...maybe she can just attack it with her body.' Leon thought before saying "Lavender try to tackle it." he said as Lavender complied jumping on the blue mouse.

Lavender squishes a bit to take the weight, but the strain still hurt her as she seemed to tune Leon out for a moment a bit of slime shooting off from her attaching to the mouse, sucking its energy.

Lavender wiggled vigorously when the Marill tried to roll over it again. Seeming tired of being hurt and angry the blue mouse kept assaulting her. This time when Marill tried rolling over Lavender she seemed to get more solid the blue mouse bouncing off her.
Lavender uses Protect, Rollout misses.

The blue mouse can't keep up with all the energy sapping and faints. Alas, the Rich Boy loses. He tsks, but snaps his fingers and has the servants pay Leon.
Leon earns 15 Poke XP, 1 Misc XP, and 2250 Crowns.

Now, this scene was quite a bit more familiar, having someone other then his challenger pay him after he won. Leon wondered if it was a pride thing, that the elite couldn't handle defeat so much that they refused to acknowledge it vocally. Of course, Leon wasn't complaining, another large satchel of coins more than made up for the Rich Boys temperament.
Leon also made note of all that he'd learned about Lavender, she seemed to be able to heal damage by attacking, and in rare cases completely ignore damage. Leon returned the little slimeball and continued on looking for another challenger.

Leon comes across a curious sight. A boy about his age with a cadre of spinning, spotted bears following him around. A lot of people seem to be deliberately looking away from him as he passes by, almost like he's some kind of social pariah. He either doesn't notice, or doesn't care.

Leon wondered if this was a regular thing in saffron, something odd or eye-catching happening and most people choosing to look away and ignore it. With that thought in his head, he hoped he never got robbed in this city. Though the boy and his spinning spotted bears did catch his attention. Leon walked over looking at the pokemon, then to who he assumed was their trainer "Hey, are these your pokemon? Why are they dancing around like that?" he asked figuring if this boy had a full team of pokemon, even if they were all the same pokemon, he might be willing to battle.
