Blake bounds away from the danger zone, and deftly catches the smaller spider in a ball, the only thing remaining of it a few small, hissing drops of purple goop. The last small spider looks up at Radiant and hisses, before it launches itself at the birds face, slicing with its claws before being shaken off. That doesn't look particularly pleasant. S2 is caught! Radiant takes 17 damage from Feint Attack. Map

Radiant was only slightly inconvenienced by the spider's scrabbling claws. She waddles up slightly to better contend against the arachnid menace. Letting forth another swarm of bubbles to end the threat to the Technicians. Shift to L7

Silas is slightly put out about being drenched in caustic liquid. It's not like he carries around volatile and medicinal chemicals. It's not like all of them are in specialized containers that could interact poorly with poke-fluids Some of this frustration can be heard in his voice as he responds to Blake. "Sure, just keep yourself conscious. Mid-mission stitches are a bad time for everyone."With half of the enemies down, Silas decides that a more aggressive approach would be appropriate. He takes a step back from the spider that just vomited poison all over him and swaps combatants. Sera is ready to go immediately, and seizes the opportunity to attack, sending 2 waves of mystic power at her foes. Gus gets an AoO! AC 4: 17 DB 4: 30
Silas Disengages to K10. Silas uses his Standard to swap Gus for Sera. Sera is at initiative 20 and is located at L10.
Sera uses Psychic on Megaspider! Megaspider is pushed 1 square North. AC2: 10 DB 11: 51
-----Top of the Round---- Sera uses Moonblast on Megaspider! Targeting mini if mega is down.
AC 2: 11 DB 12: 56

Taking a moment to rest after his foe dissipated, Aias (reluctantly) perked back up to crush the next bug. This time, he waited until the bigger one was being battered to swoop in for a totally fair sneak-attack of his own. Whether or not he'd stick the landing was another matter. Thoron was also concerned for his acid-drenched teammates, but a medic he was not. Better to focus on subduing the right targets. And so Thoron followed up his Honchkrow's follow-up with a Pokeball against the toxic insect. Top of the round.
Thoron uses Commander's Voice for Swift Focused Orders on Aias.
Aias delays Initiative to 20, then shifts to J7 and uses Assurance on the Big Bug. AC2 - 19 DB14 - 64 Physical Dark damage Aias is Vulnerable for one round, and takes Toxic damage (20)
All the way on Initiative 5, Thoron throws a Great Ball (standard) at the Big Bug from I11. AC6 - 10 Capture - 1 raw (-10 from Great Ball, -15 from Trainer level)

Gus' claw didn't seem to do much to the spider as it scuttled over to its attack position, but the hammering of bubbles, and psychic energy weakens it enough for Thoron to chuck a ball at it, easily sealing the beast away. Dropping on the ground as the spider turns into energy and is sucked into the sphere, apparently contained within the creature's toxic innards, comes a metal cylinder. There's not much time to register it, though, as there's still a spider le- oh, no there's not, Sera took care of that, the last scuttler fading away. Megaspider is hit by AoO. It's not very effective. S3 takes an injury from Bubble Megaspider is hit by Bubble. Megaspider takes an injury from Psychic. Megaspider is caught. S3 Faints from Moonblast. It's not very effective. Observing the cylinder, the acid all having dripped off of it, it seems to be much like the prior one, containing a message safely within. "You scurry 'round, hither and yon, The city stretching far down below. Running at the behest of one Whose purpose you don't even know. This city, though you call it home, how much about it have you seen? Are you sure it's worth saving? What truth lies behind the scene? You fight, but you know not the why, to hold fast a failing reign. How do you know it's not for the best to fall so you can rise again? But, you can always choose to quit, else your lives shall be forfeit. -Nephilim"As with before, there's a sequence of numbers at the bottom, though they still don't make any sense, nor does there seem to be a pattern.

With the final spider down, the team's medic gets straight to work. Aias receives a hasty poison cure, then some more thorough treatment. The bird was a capable front-line fighter this time, and they'll need him in fighting shape if the last incident also includes this "Nephilim". Once Silas is satisfied with his work on Aias, he grabs some ointment for use on Blake and himself. After learning the contents of the message, Silas glances at the other two. His thoughts on the note are delivered in a completely level voice. "Ah. Oh no. I had never considered it that way before. My life's purpose is crumbling before my eyes. If only there were some shady organization to show me the way."Silas uses First Aid Expertise on Aias. Aias recovers 1 Status ailment, 1 injury, and is restored to full health!
Silas uses his First Aid Kit on Blake. Blake recovers 28 HP!
Silas uses his First Aid Kit on himself. Silas recovers 37 HP!

Leaning heavily against the building as the spiders are fully dealt with. That could have gone better. That burn was likely to cause trouble for the rest of the mission. However long that might be. He graciously accepts Silas's help; his injuries tended but not remedied. "Thanks again for the aid Silas. I suppose I ought to be more careful, yes? " He grits his teeth through a forced smile.
The letter was a....head scratcher. Of course they were doing the right thing. "Exactly. The whole thing is ridiculous." Blake shakes his head at the very thought. "You'd think that whoever this was would try and be more convincing. Nothing is crumbling or failing. An odd fellow. You'd think they'd try and seduce us with something other than crazy claims."

With the targets taken out and their medic hard at work, Thoron collected the stray Pokeballs. Those spiders had been troublesome... But perhaps less so, out in the open.
"It could very well appeal to people on the lowest levels, but to target Technicians with this kind of message feels like a waste of time, I agree." Thoron said, "With any luck you can have a good talk with their recruiter soon, Silas. Omega, which way was the last group?"

"From reports, the last 'group' seems to only consist of one or two Pokémon," Omega says. "I will display the position now." It, too, does not seem to be terribly far from the current location. This last one's inside one of the green spaces on the surface, a little ways away from the buildings. There's a small pockets of hedges with benches inside, so that people in the Over can relax and feel surrounded by greenery if they choose. Nobody's certainly choosing to relax there now, though, as there seems to be a single human-sized-and-shaped Pokémon glowing and darting around the area, shooting off bright lights into the sky. At the Technicians' approach, it notes them approaching, before firing off a beam of light at them which goes wild due to the distance - but is clearly a challenge - before darting inside the hedge pocket at blurring speeds. MapPlace yourselves and your 'mon anywhere on the path (the grey). The dark green are hedges - 4m tall, they block line of sight but can be moved through at the cost of 3 meters of movement (or regularly with Forest Naturewalk). The brown are wood benches. They act as slow terrain to move through.

Silas frowns but remains silent at his teammates response to his sarcasm. It should be obvious that the government has some things that they hide from the public, and if it's hidden, then it's something people would object to. Also, you can't gather all the power in Arcadia without there being people abusing that power. However, the people that suffer most in a war for power are the common folk, the bystanders. Unless 'Nephilim' provides evidence of the governments problems, a viable solution, and proof that they aren't just hungry for power, then they are just a threat that needs to be shut down. Silas pauses for a moment as he arrives at the park. (So much wasted space, so many plants) The attack interrupts any possible train of thought, so he throws his readied Pokeball and releases Gus. Hopefully the fungus will be more useful this time. Silas at A7, initiative 5.
Gus at F8, initiative 5.

Ahh such a lovely garden! A pity that it would soon be a battlefield. He'd have liked to stop for a break but duty called. Such a pity. Wait a moment. "Seems that there is only one. We must have finally run into a spot of luck." Blake could use it. The splash of acid had really taken a toll on him. Teris's ball bursts open near the entrance to the park, the Floatzel eager to see a little excitement after all being held back all day. Blake stands a bit behind, more willing to provide support when it proves necessary. Less direct confrontation for him until he can get the burn seen to properly. Blake at B11, Initiative 10
Teris at E11, Initiative 20

Alone or with a partner, it was clear that this Pokemon intended to resist. " Or Nephilim decided this one was equivalent to a pack of others. We can count ourselves lucky once it's detained." Thoron said that, but he was also hoping they had been graced with good luck. Or a tactical blunder. He sent out Lowe to determine which. Thoron at C9, initiative: 5 Lowe at E9, initiative: 15

As the Technicians approach, the Pokémon glances at them, and seems to consider, before it twirls around... and splits into two slightly less bulky Pokémon. One of them heads towards the humans, firing an electrical jolt from its hands towards Teris, homing directly into the Water-type, though the lake-weasel's still standing. The other of the pair falls back further into the hedge garden. Teris takes 43 damage from Shock Wave.

Teris's fur stands on end as the electricity courses through him. Well that couldn't stand! Sure the blob might be powerful but so was he. The Floatzel streaks across streaks across the field, hooking around to the side, and spins. Striking the blob with one of his tails as the other goes wide. Shift to I9 Doublehit vs BLue Blob with one hit Ac3 vs 17 39 Normal Physical damage

The blue Pokémon shimmers and sparks some as Teris hits it with his tail, but its hand crackles with electricity again, as it unleashes another bolt through the water-type's system. Teris seems to be just barely clinging on at this point... Teris hits with Double Hit. Teris takes 58 damage and 2 injuries from Shock Wave. Punkmon Disengages.

Seeing Teris teetering after twin thunder tribulations, Silas rushes forward to heal the water weasel. He may not be able to take much more of this, but it's worth the effort as long as they can keep the fight a 3v2. Gus moves around his trainer and formerly-wounded ally to duck into the hedge surrounding the garden. He doesn't have any time to enjoy the opportunity to be among the greenery. Instead, Gus charges out of the bush and fires a compressed lump of volatile spores at the his foe. Gus has Naturwalk (Forest), so he Shifts to K10. Seed Bomb on Blue.
AC 2: 6 DB 10: 41 physical, grass
Silas sprints to H9. Silas uses a Hyper Potion on Teris. Spend 1 AP to activate Medical Techniques. Teris is restored to full health!

Electricity versus electricity tended to have little effect, unlike water versus electricity, so Thoron went for a more physical option, instructing Lowe to " Force the blue one away," to which Lowe raced forward, set on hitting the bizarre Pokemon head-on with his full force. It didn't look pleasant to bite into, but Lowe stayed ready to pounce again. Thoron uses Focused Orders on Lowe.
Lowe shifts to I11 and uses Tackle. AC2 - 13 DB5 - 38 Physical Normal damage. (+2 meter Push) Lowe Intimidates the Punkmon (-1 attack CS).

Blake winces as Terris is zapped within an inch of his tolerance. How could the Pokemon still be standing? Those dastardly devils packed a punch, and were slippery to boot. Stepping up he gives the blob am odd look, "You hardly have to try at all. You've nearly destroyed our tough Teris." Perhaps a bit of puffing up could lure it into a mistake. But the words were also a distractiion. Or were intended to be. Teris rushes forward before the duo could react and water dashes towards his electrical foe. Unfortunately the wounds were too dire, and Teris stops short of his target. Blake- Splash to 11F Confide on Blue Blob -1 SPatk on hit. cannot trigger effect ranges for one round AC 2 vs 10
Top of next round Teris uses Aqua Jet as Priority on Blue Blob Misses

Lowe rushes forwards, connecting with the humanoid figure, causing sparks to emit on contact as it's forced back. Unfortunately, that pushes it too far away, over too much commotion, for it to hear what Blake is saying to it. The 'mon nimbly dodges out of the way of Teris, and emits a bright flash of light that disorients Gus and causes his seeds to go wide, before taking a step back and unleashing a dazzling display of light at the two Technician 'mon in front of it. Unfortunately (for it), it seems to have taken theatrics over offense, as the light does little more than cause a few afterspots on the eyes. With a second flash, though, the blue tinged 'mon disappears, only for the larger, bulkier form to present itself where the yellow one was a moment prior. It looks at the Technician 'mon, before flinging a large-palmed hand out towards Gus, a ripple in the air battering the Parasect about and pushing it further back, before the combined Pokémon darts farther away again. Lowe hits with Tackle. Gus Misses. Teris Misses. Punkmon-B Disengages. Punkmon-B misses with Dazzling Gleam. Gus takes 28 damage from Psychic, and is pushed 1m.

And then the blob was gone again? Or rather scurrying away to cause more havoc. Blake couldn't allow the miscreant Pokemon to escape! He starts to run, trying to cut off it's escape. "Gonna try and catch up to it," he calls back to his fellow Technicians. "Keep on it's heels Teris."Shift to G18
Inspired Orders on Teris. +1 Evasion and +2 Save checks.
