Blake's strike firmly knocks the dog around, as it turns to growl at him. Its muzzle lights up with flames, chomping at his foot, burning, though he's able to fairly quickly stamp it out. The dogs behind don't quite seem to have a good way through... but one probably too overeager dog also has it's muzzle light up, before it unleashes a line of flame at Radiant... which happens to also engulf the unfortunate injured dog in front of it, causing it to burst apart into energy. There's a swift growl of what seems like admonishment from one of the larger dogs at it, causing the smaller one to whimper. P4 takes an injury from Aerial Ace. Blake takes 18 damage from Fire Fang. P4 Faints from Incinerate. Radiant takes 8 damage from Incinerate. If it has an item, it must drop it or take a tick of damage. Map

With Radiant healed, the team's front line is looking more stable. That leaves Silas free to re-position and lob a Great Ball at one of the larger dogs. Unfortunately, his attempts to throw the ball over Sera backfire, and the ball wide, clattering uselessly against the ground. Sera, however, has better luck. The dogs haven't attacked her yet, leaving her free to shoot a point blank pink blast at the largest of them. She then takes the opportunity to retreat, still prepared to teleport out of any incoming attacks. Silas to J22. Throw a Great Ball at M2! AC 6: 2
Sera uses Moonblast on M1! AC 2: 12 DB 12: 56 Special Fairy
Sera Disengages to J21. Sera will Teleport to I23 if she would take lethal damage.

Breathing a heavy sigh as one of the pups attacked their own team, Thoron stepped into position and lobbed a ball of his own, intending to hit the dog ahead of Sera. Evidently, the harsh natural light of the Over still had some effect on the Technician, because he didn't even see where the contraption went. Aias, meanwhile, gave his competitor a beady stare of defiance... And then plunged forward wing-first again, intent on putting the mutt in its place this time. Thoron Shifts to J23 and uses a Great Ball on M2. AC6 - 1 Status Cap - Ha.
(Next round) Aias uses Wing Attack on M3, no Shift Action. AC2 - 15 DB8 - 44 Physical Flying

Refreshed after the careful potion application, Radiant sends another burst of bubbles fly forth. Dousing the larger dog would hopefully take out the dangerous threat.

The Technicians' Pokéballs go wide, but their Pokémon are much more effective, with the two birds battering one dog down ferociously, and Sera's energy vaporizing the lead dog. The thing tied around its neck clatters to the ground as it disperses. While the pups seem a little bit hesitant at that, the larger dogs take a step back, before breathing the crackling energy again. It washes over Aias, thankfully not affecting the bird as much as the others, and splashes onto Radiant. Sera disappears, blinking back a few meters, breathing heavily and clearly worn down. Silas Misses. Thoron Misses. Radiant hits with Bubble Beam. M3 takes an injury from Wing Attack. M1 Faints from Moonblast. Sera takes 48 damage Teleports from Snarl. A critical hit! Aias takes 30 damage from Snarl, and -1 Sp Atk CS. A critical hit! M3 Disengages. Aias takes 18 damage from Snarl, and -1 Sp Atk CS. Radiant takes 26 damage and an injury from Snarl.

Another hound down too many to go. Could he even the odds? An expertly tossed ball spins towards the middle dog. Like Blake could miss a throw as easy as that.

The blue sphere smacks the dog right in the snout, before absorbing it noiselessly into the ball, swiftly clicking shut. The smaller dogs look a little apprehensive, but a growl from the remaining larger dog sends them all forwards, even the one cowering in the back. The two already up front jump for Radiant, chomping into the penguin with fire glowing on their fangs, while the last one darts around nervously, before unleashing another line of fire on the trio of Pokémon and Trainer up front, bathing them in flames. It's not enough to fell anyone, but, by the end, Radiant is looking worse for wear. Again. M3 is caught. Radiant takes 15 damage and an injury from Fire Fang. Radiant takes 16 Damage from Fire Fang. Aias takes 24 damage from Incinerate. Radiant takes 13 damage from Incinerate. Blake takes 23 damage from Incinerate.

While Sera recovers from her escape maneuver, Silas pulls out another Great Ball and throws it at the dog directly in front of him. Surely he can't miss such a point-blank throw? Finishing off the rest of the enemy should be pretty straightforward, so further healing can wait until Silas can put his full attention into it. Silas throws a Great Ball at P2! After two strikes, the sight of a Pokemon disappearing on their terms was a welcome one. Silas was taking the initiative on that pesky fire-breathing whelp, so Thoron aimed further back, at their last alpha dog. Aias had suffered quite a bit guarding the street, but he wasn't going to back down yet either. Once the Honchkrow had recovered from being singed, he berated the nearest pup with a heavy whack. Thoron uses a Great Ball on M2. Aias shouldn't count as in the way, but if need be he can shift to J23. AC6 - 8 Status Cap - 20 before modifiers
Next turn, Aias uses Wing Attack on targets in the following order: P2, P3, P1 AC2 - 10 DB8 - 43 Physical Flying Aias also takes an Injury from passing 50% HP last turn (Incinerate). If the space is available, Aias disengages to J21.

Radiant was struggling to hold on once more. The fiery attacks taking a toll on her renewed vigor. She struggles on and smacks one of the pups with a wing. She still had a small amount of fight left to give. Metal wing on P3

The balls fly, and the Pokémon attack, leaving the larger 'mon all balled, and only a single small one left. It attempts to nip at Radiant, but isn't able to get through the 'mons touch skin, leaving it to begin to dart back down the alley. M2 is caught. P2 is caught. P3 takes 2 injuries from Steel Wing. P3 Faints from Wing Attack. Poochyena misses with Bite.

Silas holds his position away from the fighting, exhaling in relief as the enemies fall in quick succession. Sera goes in for the kill, looking to finish off the last dog with one more energy blast. As the fight winds down, Silas gives a reminder to his team. "Leave your team out once we're done. I'll need to patch us up before we keep going."Sera to J20.

And, despite the dog's best efforts, the beam does hit it, vaporizing it and leaving naught but the one dog's "collar" in sight. From when it clattered to the ground, it seems like there's a rolled up piece of paper in it. A note, in fact, reading, in an obnoxious, handwritten script:
"My, look at the Technicians go They scurry around to and fro Round and round in a tizzy Making themselves dizzy While blind to events down below. -Nephilim"
The 'i's in the last word are dotted with little hearts. There's also, scrawled almost as an afterthought, a series of numbers on the bottom, but they don't make any sense, there doesn't seem to be rhyme nor reason to them.

That was some good poetry. Though the hearts were a bit much. And they didn't even go through the process of rhyming the last sentence with their name. Blake dusts some of the soot off his jacket, "Nephilim? Odd name. Err...is it a person you think? They must be pretty conceited to leave a calling card to the Technicians." He reads over the lines again, trying to puzzle out the clue. "Why would they go to all this trouble spreading chaos and then tell us that it's a distraction..."

There was something subtly aggravating about this note. Something beyond it very obviously being an insult to the Technicians, anyways. After another good, long glare at the message, Thoron answered, "Unless witness reports were horribly mistaken or there were two groups of Pokemon loose in the Over, we can assume this amateur poet is part of an indeterminately larger group..."
Try though he might, the second question was a bit trickier, and nothing in particular came to mind. So Thoron proactively asked, "Pete- Omega? Have there been any announcements from headquarters since we were dispatched? Alerts or warnings, specifically."
Naturally, the doctor had free access to his Pokemon, Lowe's fainting aside.

Silas frowns at the note. He wants to analyze it, bludgeon it with his thoughts until their enemy's secrets fall out. Unfortunately, there's no time for that. There's healing to do and a city to clean up. "Sera. Aias will need your attention, I'll take care of the rest."Lowe and Radiant get more intensive care, then he patches up Sera to the best of his ability. It is fortunate that he's worked on Pokemon before, because his emotions are in turmoil. Since he can't afford to actually think about the note, his indignation begins to stew. The word 'Nephilim' sounds like something he'd come across in his reading before. Is the person behind this claiming to have some measure of divinity? That sounds like an Elementalist's arrogance to Silas, or maybe someone from the Over chasing a deluded concept like 'the divine right to rule'. Still, Blake brings up a good point about Nephilim's character. "Someone who writes a note like this will show up to gloat eventually. That's our opportunity."Silas uses First Aid Expertise on Lowe and Radiant.
Silas uses his First Aid Kit on Sera.
Sera uses Heal Pulse on Aias.
Lowe and Radiant remove one Injury and are at full HP. Sera gains 32 HP. Aias gains 50% of his max HP.

"Nothing further has been reported since you began this," Omega states, "However, there are still reports of Pokémon activity in the Over remaining, concentrated in two locations, fairly nearby."

Silas mentally translates Omega's statement. 'Whatever is happening was found before you began. And you aren't authorized to know.' How... encouraging. Unfortunately, there's not much he can do about it until they take care of more pressing problems.
"Omega, what are the two location? Any priority areas?"

No other disturbances elsewhere? Was the mysterious letter writer just toying with them then? But then why release the Pokemon in the Over at all then? All there was to do was wait on Omega to relay the locations. Hopefully the Pokemon weren't rampaging through anything too important. Blake's foot taps, eager to head on once more. "Two others doesn't sound so bad. Unless one of the groups splits. Should make them easy to contain."

The idea of leaving a taunt without having acted on it was odd. Very odd. But until 'Nephilim' played their hand it was out of the Technicians... "Understood. Then, can you tell whether that impostor Technician is still among either group?" Thoron asked, "Breaking into even smaller groups is unlikely. That would make them more vulnerable. We should subdue the unled Pokemon first, though."
With the captured mutts secure and his own Pokemon brought back to fighting shape, Thoron was ready to set out wherever they chose to go.
