Hawlucha dramatically flourishes to avoid the psychic attack. It puffs itself up a bit after having dodged two attacks in a row, then leaps up into the air to come crashing down atop Kiva.

Today just does not seem to be Lowell's day as Hawlucha dodges another Psybeam. It leaps up again and performs a slightly different type of swan dive.

Well, that hurt. Hawlucha staggers under the sudden psychic assault. It recovers enough to keep fighting though. It bounds up into the air again to come crashing down atop Kiva.

The Psybeams be rollin'. Lucha hatin'. Hawlucha is defeated, and Lowell is allowed to advance to the Gauntlet when he's prepared to do so. He's also given a rundown on how it works. Three fights in a row with no rest, each using three pokemon per side. Healing items like potions are not allowed, but moves that heal and food are legal. There is no rest between fights to further increase the challenge, and each Gym Trainer is tougher than the previous one.

Lowell nodded and recalled Kiva after some very deserved headpats for defeating the Dreaded Lucha Bird. He then found a way to the arena where Jane was battling and sat down to spectate.

Well. That was unexpected. Luck will be luck, it seems. So to counter the Leavanny, while fully expecting to be countered in turn, they send out a Toxicroak. Naturally, it uses a poison attack first. Init - 16 Poison Jab AC 2 vs 6NVm1i2J1d20 Poison on 15+ Damage: 3d8+26

Lowell narrowed his eyes and as soon as he saw the toxicroak he quickly triggered Clair's Pokeball with one hand then released Kiva with the other before it got a chance to attack! Until the next round, Kiva has initiative 19, After her next turn, she has initiative 9. Kiva took advantage of the momentum from the release to aim and blast a Psybeam straight at the Toxicroak! Jane gave the Toxicroak an appraising look. She approved it's use of the warding magic; covering a huge weakness like that could even turn it into a strong point. Versus weak attacks at least!
