Adventure Thread - Group B

Alex ran up behind Leon as he finished the statement. He sagged down, hands on his knees and started huffing. "Oh...man...I need to get out more...Whew...Okay" He said as he straightened up. "You guys are fast. That or I've been indoors too much lately. Either way, finally caught up." He said as they walked back to the end of the line. He hoped Brooke took notice that they were headed back and didn't have to run up after them. Before heading back, he picked up a few pamphlets from the guild to browse over while waiting in the line.

Leon had thought about it for a while waiting in the line, he'd seen Rex using firey moves before and figured the best choice would be a pokemon that could soak up water. "I would like to meet a grass pokemon," Leon said to the person then asked, "Is this where we can sign up for the guild or is there another area to do so?"

Leon was a bit apprehensive about getting separated from the others, however now that they were on the grounds of the guild itself. He didn't think Yue could get into too much trouble and they'd all be searching the same general area together eventually. Heading over toward the taller grass he kept an eye out for a grass type that might catch his eye, occasionally glancing at the joiner form on his pamphlet to get an idea of the information they'd want.

Brooke had not thought about this while waiting in line. How were you supposed to choose a Pokemon, anyway? Sharp had picked her, insofar as anyone did any picking. She didn't know the first thing about how to look at a lineup of 'mon and pick out the best. Didn't even what sort she wanted. "Grass sounds good t'me too," she said, figuring she might as well stick with the others while she tried to sort that out. "C'mon, Yue, let's go take a look."

Alex wasn't really paying too much attention. Well, okay, he was paying too much attention, just to all the wrong things. He was trying to keep Leon in sight, keep at least a general awareness of where Brooke and Yue were headed off to, and filling out the guild application, all at the same time. This ended up being pretty careless of him as no more than a few minutes in, he trips and falls over a rock near the garden area. As he crashes to the ground, he looks back towards the large stone he tripped over. It didn't look like any typical stone. It was very hard though (his shin can attest to that much). Alex picked himself up and brushed himself off. Squirt took flight just as he started to fall, and was now re-perching on his shoulder. As he turned to look over the object, a tiny green head poked out. As the little Turtwig's eyes met those of his "assailant", he quickly poped right back into his shell to hide again.



Alex was fasinated with the creature. This was exactly the thing he was looking for. This little guy just took a hard hit and didn't seem at all bothered. It was more worried about what was next. Even Squirt looked the creature over in awe. Squirt sprayed a bit of water on it to coax the little guy out, but the Turtwig actually seemed to enjoy it. It seemed like he was soaking all that water in. Alex finally deduced, this wasn't a rock, it was a dirt shell. Alex took out what was left of his cinnamon roll and tried to talk to the little turtle. "Hey little buddy. I'm sorry I fell over you. You took it like a champ though. You aren't even trying to run away. I need a partner like you. Someone tough if we ever get into a pinch. Since you're in this enclosure, you must be looking for someone too. Take this, I think you may like it. There's a lot more where this comes from I promise." As he finishes, he sets the snack in front of the last place he saw the Turtwig's head. It took a few seconds, but the little guy finally poked his head out to investigate the treat. He took a nibble, and then like Yue, proceeded to inhale the rest of the roll. The little Turtwig was so excited, he stopped withdrawing and came up to Alex. The little guy nuzzled his (slightly bruised) shin in appreciation. Alex had finally found his second ever partner. "How does Stout sound? You're short and tough. That's what the word means." Stout gave no signal in agreement or denial so Alex just shrugged. "Come on fella. I don't know how I have to sign you out or whatever, so we'll go ask." Alex still tried to watch the rest of the group, but this time, he actually watched a little more on where he was going.



When Alex sees an attendant, he says, "I've made a decision. I choose this little guy here. This is my application as well. Sorry about the little bit of dirt on it, I tripped."

Leon had stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the box for a last name in the forms, sitting down by the tall grass as he looked at the form. He debated in his mind what to do about it, on one hand, he could easily lie, there's no way they would know. On the other hand, if he did lie and they found out later it would only make things worse. Leon sighed putting the form in his lap scratching Rex behind the ears a bit. He tried looking around for a grass friend to make, however, it seemed like many of the grass pokemon around them were purposely avoiding the pair. The flame dog a bit too intimidating.

Leon saw that "Maybe these guys have the right idea when you're faced with something daunting just avoid it." he said picking up the form thinking up a fake name 'I'm Leon son of witch hunters, Leon Hunterson...that could work' he thought. When he suddenly felt a weight in his lap. Suprised Leon looked down to see a Paras sitting there presenting the top of his head. Leon was confused until they pointed to Rex indicating they wanted the same treatment. Leon paused, then laughed complying with the mushroom bug's command scratching him between the two shrooms on his back "Well aren't you a brave little guy...you know I was looking for a new friend. Would you like to come along with us?" he asked motioning to Rex as the Paras caught up in the head scratches nodded, not minding the treatment he was getting.

"Wonderful, now what to call you, hmmm, how about Toadstool? After your little mushrooms?" he asked as the mushroom bug nodded, the name sounding acceptable to it. Leon smiled 'If I can be half as brave as this little guy, maybe things will work out alright' he thought jotting down his full name on the form but paused adding a small addendum to his blurb adding that while Hectril was his last name, he'd prefer to be known as the alias Leon Hunterson for the moment, 'Baby steps...let's not jump fully into the pond just yet' he thought taking the Writ of Clemency he'd received folding it up in his form, before getting the attention of an attendant expressing his desire for Toadstool to be his new friend and handing over his application.

Alex sat through and listened to the instructor as she gave her introduction. When she finished up, Alex hung his head. He didn’t plan on joining a type branch. He wanted to join the Alchemists. He resolved that he just had to ask.

Alex tried to approach Genevieve and ask, “Miss Genevieve ma’am. Hello, my name is Alex Green. I’m a new guild member. I hate to bother you right after your speech and introduction but, I’m unsure of how to proceed. I came to the guild to work with the Alchemists but now that you have talked, I am unsure where to go. As you know, there are many types of healing moves. I think I may fall into that more generic role you talked about.” He said feeling a bit down. “Do you have any advise?”

Alex puts a hand to his his face and nestles his chin between his thumb and forefinger. ‘Grass or Poison’ he ponders. Alex then says, “I may try Grass then. All of the remedies I know from home are herb and berry based. Guess that would be the best place to start. Poison could teach me how to cure some so I might ask to study there later. At least I’m down to just two now to choose from. Thank you Miss Genevieve.” He says to her. “Guess I’ll try to track down the others now.” He suddenly remembers and turns back to ask, “Umm, which way is the Grass Branch?”

Yue wandered into the area where the announcement was held, still carrying her two Pokemon in her arms. "Alright...So what do I do now?" Yue says, crestfallen. "I got separated from Ms. Brooke, Mr. Leon, and Mr. Alex..." Yue mutters to herself, frantically looking around for any sign of her friends or even what to do next.

Her prayers were answered when the woman calling herself Ms. Genevieve gave a speech from the doorway. So there were different branches by type? Yue looked down at her Pokemon. It'd be nice if she got a branch that had lots of cute Pokemon like Bubbles and Cuddles. Yue wondered which one that would be for a bit before realizing that she didn't know enough to come up with an answer on her own.  Hmmm...Ms. Genevieve seemed like a smart lady, so she should know! Yue immediately went up to where Ms. Genevieve was and was pleasantly surprised to see Mr. Alex with her.  Talk about two birds with one stone!

Yue pulled her hood back to use as a pouch for Bubbles and Cuddles, and after placing them inside, ran up to Mr. Alex and gave him a hug at full speed.  "I found you, Mr. Alex!" She yelled as she flung herself onto him. "Oh! That's right I had a question for you Ms. Genevieve!" Yue said, remembering her reason for heading this way. "Do you know which branch has the cutest Pokemon?"
