"I still need to find a few trainers to try and beat for my quota, and our battle plus one I had on the way back here showed me my team still has a way to go," Leon said retrieving Toadstool and Stunfisk's pokeballs, hooking them back onto his belt "Meeting up for lunch sounds like a good plan though," he said figuring it would be good to sit down as a team and discuss their next moves.

"Simply splendid! I shall be going then." Yue tries to leave gracefully, but stumbles and nearly trips over her own feet. Blushing scarlet, she pretends that nothing happened and continues her graceful exit.

"Alright, then. Lunchtime it is." Brooke watches Yue leave with an odd expression on her face. "Hey, Leon... you'd know more about ghosts than me. Can they possess people? Or is that just a story?"

Leon took a moment to dwell on the question, thinking back to his lessons “That is actually a bit tricky to answer. Have I heard about it? Yes there are many legends,folk tales,urban legends and garden variety rumors about people possessed by the spirits. However a clear and documented case of a ghost possessing a person? Not really. Though with the amount of tales about it, it’s hard to not think there’s some kernel of truth to it. Sorry I know that’s not the most definite answer but in this case it’s the best I can give. Were you thinking that Yue may have been possessed while we were unconscious?” He asked guessing Brooke was attributing some of Yue’s strange behavior to possession.

"Yeah. She's just acting so different. The things she's saying, the way she says it... People change, I know, but this seems awful sudden, and the timing's pretty suspicious. Maybe I'm jumpin' at shadows - I hope I'm jumpin' at shadows - but I'd appreciate if you kept an eye on her. I'll ask Alex, too, when I see him next."

“I wouldn’t worry about it too much. The ghosts I saw probably wouldn’t have possessed a person, and I’m not sure how it would benefit the Swamp Witch to control someone she wanted to leave so badly. I doubt anything too bad happened but I’ll make sure to keep an eye out for her just in case.” Leon said hoping to assuage some of Brooke’s worries

No sooner has Leon finished mentioning the Swamp Witch when he feels an explosion of pain inside of his mind. It feels like his brain is on fire! It hurts so much he can't even manage to scream with agony, let alone black out. Just as he feels like his brain is going to be turned into literal ash, Leon feels something inside of him resisting this attack on his mind. After an eternally long five minutes, the pain subsides and Leon feels a great emptiness inside. Like he just lost a part of himself.

Leon gasps grasping at his head as he tried to call out for help but realized he was in so much pain even his own voice could not escape. After enduring this pain he felt something save him from within. However the crushing emptiness, he felt afterward combined with the pain he had already endure proved too much for the young man as he fell unconscious.

Brooke spends a minute or two hovering anxiously nearby while one of the healers checks Leon over; after that she gets sick of worrying ineffectually, and asks if there's anything a pair of unskilled hands could do to help. Preferably with Leon, but anything to get her busy, really.

The healers had come running the moment Brooke cried out, but state there is nothing she can do for him. Whatever happened seems to have passed, and he is breathing steadily now. They have no idea what happened to him, nor how long he'll remain unconscious, so the best Brooke can do for him is to let him rest. If she's going to be fidgety, then she should go outside and busy herself; come back later to check on him.

Brooke doesn't much like the thought of leaving, but there's no sense getting in the way of the folks who know what they're doing, and who knows how long Leon'll be out? She heads out to distract herself with training.

The first thing Brooke does upon returning to the Guild is check in at the infirmary. Leon isn't there anymore; she teeters between apprehension and relief for a while before settling on the latter. Can't be too bad if the healers let him go out and about this soon, right? So long as they know what they're doing. (She makes a note to check in with Alex about that.)
Speaking of Alex, it's about time for lunch. She heads for the Guild mess hall.

Alex returns to the guild extremely disappointed. He had felt pretty good about his team before the battles today. After losing all three, he wondered if it was his ability to command them. He sulked back to the guild and up to the Grass Branch. He noticed a mission on the board about a lost cat. After losing almost everything he had in the battles, he figured he better take the job. It was then that he overheard a trainer nearby scolding a Slowpoke. She was mentioning that all he did was loaf about and he didn't have the energy to keep up with the team. Alex thought this may be a good opportunity. He went up to the trainer and explained that he had recently acquired a Pichu that was full of zip. Upon asking her for a trade, the trainer accepted. Alex took his new Slowpoke with him to the mess hall to see if there was any of his teammates already there.

Brooke waves Alex over to her table. "Hiya. Hope your morning went better than mine." The floofy Pokemon draped round her neck like an oversized scarf cheeps in protest. "Sorry, girl, didn't mean you. You're great. But we still got our asses kicked six ways from Sunday. Alex, this's Scarf; Scarf, Alex. He'll probably be patchin' you up sooner or later, so make sure an' be extra nice."
"You seen Leon around here anywhere?"

While Alex and Brooke are chatting, a Guild Runner approaches them. "Are either of you named 'Alex Green' or 'Brooke Shaw'? I have a letter for you both." When the two confirm that they are, he hands each of them an identical copy of a letter. The contents of the letter are quite difficult to decipher, if only because the writer decided to be as cryptic as possible. Most of it reads as gibberish, except for a couple of lines scattered throughout: "I have Yue. Ask for 'Shinobi' in Celadon Castle Town. Enclosed is a temporary pass to allow you access to the city." It's very difficult to tell if the letter's intent is to assuage any concerns they may have or to, in fact, cause those very concerns.
You may roll Intuition to try and decipher the rest of the letter.
~After Intuition rolls~
Brooke and Alex come to the conclusion that the letter writer has hidden extra knowledge or words within the text in the form of a code. However, while the message about Yue is the same for both, the code words are not. It's hard to tell any more than that, however.

Alex turns the letter over in his hands for a bit and finally sighs saying, “There’s just not enough here to go on. We’re missing something. We need more information. Here, take my letter and go find Leon. Maybe he can figure something out. I haven’t seen him around so he could be in his dorm. At least it’s a start. I have to go find this Meowth. If she’s in the city, it shouldn’t be too dangerous. The city guard could help you out if you explain it to them. If you need me, send Sharp. I’ll recognize him and hurry there on Ceo.” With that, Alex gave Brooke the letter and kept the pass in case he needed to go in the end.

"What the hell's this supposed to mean?" Brooke scowls at the letter. "Sounds like she's been kidnapped. But what kinda kidnapper gives directions and a pass to get t' them? It doesn't make sense" She glances at Alex, wondering what's so important about this Meowth, but reluctantly nods. "If you gotta, you gotta. I'll wait here a bit longer, in case Leon's just late."
Leon, as it transpires, is very late indeed (if he's coming at all). After half an hour Brooke gives up and heads for the Dark Branch, muttering about everything going sideways at once.

After nearly an hour of searching (there aren't that many places Yue frequents), Leanne is unable to find a trace of Yue. Despite wanting to avoid the Dark Branch while transformed, Leanne is forced to concede the possibility that Yue (or one of the others) left a note for Leon in his dorm. Focused on her mission, Leanne doesn't even notice the 'new' girl in Dark Branch lurking in the shadows, in spite of the bright pink streak in her hair. Nor does Leanne notice her on the way out after finding Brooke's note. Leanne makes a beeline for the location that Brooke's note stated she could be found in, despite the note likely being a few hours old due to the time Leanne spent in Steel Branch training.

Leanne arrived at the meeting place looking over at Brooke 'I hope she didn't wait long' Leanne thought as Leon made an agreeing sound "True, but there's not much else we could do. We waited as long as we could for the transformation to end before going to my room. At this point, we just have to meet with her and explain what has been keeping us busy for so long." he said as Leanne nodded approaching Brooke.
"Hello, I'm Leanne and I found this letter. To make a long story short since it appears that Yue needs us to come to Celadon. I am someone who is close to Leon who wants to help. He will also be nearby the whole time. More will be explained in time, but I'm someone who he would trust with this." she said pulling Witch Slayer from her pouch, "And him" she said letting Rex out of his ball, who turned looking at Leanne confused for a moment, before sniffing her looking even more confused as Leanne mouthed to the fire dog "We'll explain later" as Rex nodded barking to the affirmative.

Brooke exhales in a huff. This goddamn day, I swear... "Slow down there, Ribbons. You say you know Leon, but I don't know you from Adam, and I'm not goin' anywhere with you until you answer a few questions. Starting with how you know Leon, why he gave you Rex, and why th'hell he's nearby but can't show up and introduce you himself."
