Alex watched as the team tried to poke and prod at the creatures. He thought for a minute about how anything else would act at being poked and prodded at. Do it enough, and it will lash out. “Hey guy. Come on, back up. You’re going to make them mad, and if you do, you’re the first thing they attack.” Alex said. He took the water and released the Koffing. The first thing he did was hold out a hand to the beast in a palm first fashion. “Easy fella. I know we got off to a bad start. You probably still don’t like me after that scuffle earlier. I want you to have this.” He said offering the water. As the Koffing approached, he gave it the water. The Koffing instantly started feeling better. The Koffing looked at Alex puzzled. This human attacked him earlier and now it was helping him. He wasn’t sure what to think. “I need your help now. These things are in the same situation as you were. We walked into its home, and now it’s afraid. Will you try to tell them how it turned out for you? We just wanted to protect ourselves. Now, I want to protect you. We want the same for them. Bubbles, can you mediate for me?” Alex said turning to the Ralts. He then looked at the party and said, “Last chance. If a fellow swamp native can’t get through to them, we’ll have to fight past them. Don’t be on the front lines.”
(Alex gives Koffing an enriched water. Koffing is now 35/42 with one injury)

Leon nodded a bit letting out Toadstool "I would have liked to just convince them to come along, but I guess I'm not a sparkling conversationalist like Yue." he said taking a few steps back with Toadstool.

Yue sighs. "I don't feel good about this...But...I really want one too, so let's do this!" She steps back while Bubbles puts on her war face. "Oh! Wait a sec! Do you think you could talk to them as a fellow native of the swamp, Cinnamon?" Yue asks, setting the Poliwag down next tot the puddle.

Alex stood there for a second. “That’s, that’s actually a much better idea.” Alex recalled the Koffing back. He put a hand on Yue’s shoulder and said, “Good thinking kiddo.” He then dropped his voice a bit and said, “If things start looking bad, get Cinnamon out of there. It’s still a long shot. Just be ready for a fight.”

The puddles remain as puddles and seem unresponsive. Maybe they're feeling overwhelmed by the amount of individuals around?

Leon took a look at puddles cowering and the ever-growing amount of pokemon and people entering their space. "Guys...let's just back up and let these little guys have some space. They're the first thing that didn't try to attack us or entrance us. Maybe they're shy. I think the big group of new people might be scaring them a bit." he said returning Toadstool sitting down on a dry patch.

Yue sighs and returns everyone to their balls, including Bubbles, and sits cross-legged a little ways from the puddle she was poking, with the half the cinnamon bun next to the puddle and the other half in front of her. She proceeds to wait until something happens.

Alex sighs and walks back a few steps. He mutters under his breath, “Whole swamp has been pissed off since we got here. Can’t even look in certain directions without almost dying. We believe these will be ‘nice’? Guess I’ll just drag back people.” Alex slumped to the ground against a tree and pulls out his apricorns holding Allure as well as an empty one. He spun the balls in his hand and thought about all that the party has done since entering the swamp. He mutters towards the ball holding Allure, “What would you do? If someone invaded your home and spooked you? Exactly what you did to us huh? Can’t say I blame you.” Alex sighs, clearly frustrated. “If I could just find these last few plants, I’ll leave. I’m starting to think we shouldn’t have taken these in the first place.”

Brooke moved back along with Yue, seating herself a few steps behind the younger girl. Yue had a knack for dealing with wild Pokemon, but if something went wrong she didn't want her to get caught out alone.

After several minutes, the puddles begin to reform into some semblance of their original form. The nearest one sort of oozes over the cinnamon roll, taking it with it as it goes to investigate Yue. It shlorps over her nearest appendage as if "exploring" her.

The weird little goo critter continues to slime its way across Yue's body, even going up her torso. Oh, hey, an opening! It plops down Yue's shirt. Seems interesting here.

Alex watches the little creature slide over the bun and then to Yue. He almost jerks up to save her, and freezes. 'She can handle herself. Let the thing eat her.' he thought. Suddenly Alex pauses.
'Eat her...' Alex looks around at the piles of goop.
'Eat...' He then looks to where the goop has been and notices very spare areas of vegetation.
'I'm so stupid!' He thought as he fished out both Stout's and Squirt's balls. He released them both behind the tree he was sitting at. Quietly, he told them, "Shhh. Hey, I need those." Alex says taking their Sitris berries away from them. "Squirt, I need you to use your water and fill up this little hole beside me. Fill it up with water all the way to the top. Stout, I need you to Withdraw buddy. Tuck yourself inside your shell. Do me a favor. Keep this little branch out. Those little guys might nibble on it. Just be ready okay." They both look questioningly at their trainer but do as he says. Squirt begins to use his fountain ability to fill up a little divot beside Alex full of water. Stout tucks himself inside his shell. After the spot is filled, Alex recalls the still poisoned bird. He sets Stout next to the water, and breaks one of the sitris berries into smaller pieces. He tosses a couple little bits in front of him, and then lays the rest by Stout. Alex then fishes out some of the samples he'd collected from the swamp earlier, and mixes those in with the berry pieces. He scoots back a bit and continues to watch the slimy little creatures.

After a bit of time, while Yue has her own little goo friend, one of the others slides its way over to where the berry bits are laid out. It pauses when it sees Stout, but then just slides right over the berries and into the puddle that seems to have been made for it. It gurgles a little bit, seeming pleased with the water.

"Heh, it really does like water. That's adorable, and gross all at the same time." Alex said quietly looking at slimy creature playing in the puddle. He tries to take a look at what exactly the creature ate, and didn't eat. Maybe then, he could have Bubbles talk with the creatures about something they enjoyed. He wasn't fully done researching them yet though. He was certain that the creature would at least investigate Stout as a food source. His guess could have been off, so he continued to just study the creature. "Easy Stout, stay withdrawn. You're alright. Stay nice and still for me." Alex said hoping that the little Turtwig wouldn't get spooked. Alex palmed the last berry he had. If it was still hungry, it may come closer to him.

Leon watched Yue and Alex as the creature Alex offered berries too seemed to pass them up in exchange for splashing around in a puddle. Getting an idea Leon dug up a bit of the dry spot he was sitting on, before opening an enriched water pouring it inside making a small puddle of clear water, with specs of minerals in it, next to him.

Yue laughs a bit, but tries to stay still. "That tickles..." She says, trying to keep from bursting out in full on laughter.

Brooke smiled at the sight of Yue's new friend climbing over her. The way these creatures moved put her in mind of the slugs that plagued her mother's garden back home; her mother had hated the things, but she'd always thought they were cute. It'd never seemed fair to try and kill anything that shy and helpless, no matter what it wanted to do to your herbs.
Upon seeing Alex woo one of the Pokemon as well, she took out her waterskin, pouring out a small puddle in front of her and waiting to see whether it would draw any attention.
