"Yeah, it'll be powerful to be able to apply effects like that while still being able to attack separately with your Pokemon," Justin said. He had a feeling that he should think it seemed like a kind of underhanded tactic, but it was a good advantage, and it's not like Pokemon couldn't poison each other already. In this case, his competitive spirit had won out. "Just give me a minute..." he trailed off as he fished around in his bag. Eventually he pulled out a contact lense case. To two lenses, he applied a clear liquid from a bottle with a nail polish brush-like applicator. Finally, he placed the lenses in an eye each. "Alright, go ahead and bring out whichever Pokemon you want me to milk."
Justin uses an extended action to bind 2 AP and use Dashing Makeover. He now has the effect of Safety Goggles applied.

Asa
Asa waited patiently as the boys tinkered with chemicals and poisons. When Bo offered her one, she shook her head. "I’m more effective directing the battle than participating."
Once they were done, she walked with them and Absol back to it’s house.

The old couple is very happy to have their Absol back. They really don't seem to care about their lost belongings. In fact, the old man wants to give the group a monetary reward. It's not big - just $300 each - but when you politely try to refuse it since he's a robbery victim and all, he practically forces your hand open and stuffs the money in there.
"You can't take it with you," he just keeps saying.
For Asa, he has one more thing. He brings out an old cedar box about the size of toaster. There are a few things inside, but what he pulls out and gives to Asa is quite the gift.
[From the fossils offered at the Fossil Lab, Asa may choose one and that is what the old man is holding, offering to Asa.]
[Congrats, group. You have cleared Hickory Town of its problems. You gain a Milestone Trainer Level.]

Asa
Asa thanked the couple graciously several times upon receiving the rattle-shaped fossil. She stored it in her pack carefully before the group departed back to the Center. The researcher stifled a yawn and checked her watch.
”I don’t plan on challenging the gym until tomorrow, since my first two fossils will be done then. Are you guys going to challenge before it closes today, or wait too?" While she knew that she needed sleep, the idea of her Pokémon being ready was keeping her awake.

With little hesitance, Bo, released his Beedril, and directed it towards Justin. "Right, just keep still as you can. Justin there is going to get a little of your poison for me. Can you do that?" he asked the Beedrill, who buzzed and twitched, being utterly still a rather foreign concept to the insect Pokemon while it was waking. Beedrill was likely to have the most potent venom among them though, so it was his best choice. He slowly started on several other balls, as he went, waiting on Justin to be finished, before he started on some more potent ones, designed more to completely shut a Pokemon down. Crafting 2 Pesters each of Burn, poison, Rage. Crafting 4 Confusion Pester Balls.

Justin's safety precautions turned out to be unnecessary as Bo's Beedrill was an ideal patient. After handing Bo the jar of venom, he thanked the Pokemon, saying, "You did great. I've got a little treat for you now." From his pack, he gave the Beedrill one of the candy bars he'd made.
After reuniting Absol with his owners and returning to the Pokemon Center, Justin turned in Brutus' Pokeball for healing. He'd kept him earlier in case trouble arose, but it seemed like everything was peaceful now. To Asa, he said, "Depends on how late they're open. I have a lot of prep to do with my team." As Nurse Joy would probably know the answer to that question, he asked her, and added, "and do you know anything about how the gym works? The last one disabled all the items I'd made for Nike, which was a bit of an unpleasant surprise. She still had a resounding victory though, of course!"

Asa
After Joy told them the Gym was closed, Asa said good night to the boys and retired to her room, hoping to get some rest before the big day.

After his own little bout of creativity, and taking the jar of venom from Justin, he started to feel the weight of the day weighing down on him. Thanking Justin for his help, he went about packing up his gear, as the Beedrill snacked on the little treat Justin had given for being such a good patient. He went inside just as the Nurse was explaining the gym, able to catch Asa about to head to sleep.
"I suppose I'll call it a night as well. Did you care to take any of these yourself Justin?" Bo asked, holding out the crude pester balls, chiefly the ones that added a confusion effect, as the other trainer did not seem as find of the more...damaging ones.

"Thanks for the offer," Justin said to Bo, "but I don't think I'd ever use them. Plus, it's not like my team needs any help!" the statement was punctuated by a smile and a wink. It was true he probably wouldn't end up using the pester balls though. His battling style took a lot of focus as it was; adding more actions in would likely throw everything off. "Anyway, I've got some training to do with Brutus before we turn in, so I'm heading outside. Goodnight! I look forward to seeing how the pester balls work tomorrow!" With a wave he left the Pokemon Center, having collected the newly healed Dhelmise, and walked to the battlefields nearby.
Once there, he summoned Brutus. Before any training, he made sure to tell the Pokemon how proud he was of it for defending the unconscious Absol so well, and informed it that everything had gone well, and the other Pokemon was home and healthy. The ghostly kelp was rather impassive, but Justin new talks like this were important between Pokemon and trainer. Then he got to the matter at hand. "We have a gym battle tomorrow," he explained to the Dhelmise. "That means you might be facing some tough opponents. They'll be Rock types, so let's figure out the best way to use that anchor of yours."
After the lessons, they got some much-needed rest.
Justin uses Mentor twice on Brutus. The Dhelmise loses two tutor points, but learns Giga Drain, and Anchor Shot, replacing Mega Drain and Gyro Ball.
While they're out there, Justin stumbles across some loot! (Using his three daily actions to search for items).

The loot that Justin found is a Yellow Apricorn, a Rindo Berry, and an Aspear Berry.
Morning seems like it takes forever to arrive, but a new day finally begins. Everyone wakes up feeling well-rested.

Asa
Asa skipped her morning training routine, quickly eating her breakfast. Only by the grit of determined politeness was she able to wait for the boys to see if they wanted to go to the lab with her.
She had two allies waiting. It seemed like forever for the process to be complete, though in reality only a full day. She glanced at the two fossils she had remaining. The fire fossil would be just starting its process and she had enough money for another to finish the day. Asa looked at the map on her ‘dex as she walked, calculating the decision.

Asa waits until her two fellow Trainers are ready to head out for the day. Whether they choose to come with her or not, though, she's heading to the Fossil Lab. The researchers there are abuzz. Everyone seems to be in a happy little tizzy, and it only gets worse when the see Asa walk in. "You're here!" the head researcher says, rushing over. "Oh, we have such news for you. Come, come, follow me!"He leads Asa over to the reanimation machine. It's working on her Flame Fossil. Two unassuming Poké Balls sit on the table nearby. "First," he says, picking up the ball on the left, "your Agamid Fossil finished. Behold."He taps the button and the Pokémon inside is released. What Asa sees amazes her. It's a Turtwig ... but different. It looks at Asa and smiles. "A prehistoric Turtwig!" the researcher cries. "A version of the species that existed in a time before any data on it could even be recorded! Thanks to you, we now know that the Turtwig species was not always the way it is today. This spawned a theory among some of us - that maybe there are other species that have undergone changes that we weren't aware of since their prehistoric days. It was just a theory at first, mind you, since we had no other examples to go off of ... that is, until ..."He picks up the other ball. "Your Shade Fossil finished." He gives it a tap. Another incredible sight comes out of the ball. "Don't be fooled!" the researcher cries with glee. "It's a Mudkip! This supports our theory! It's the second instance of a Pokémon having heavy differences in its prehistoric state."Mudkip looks at Asa and smiles as well. "What do you think?" the head researcher asks, eager for Asa's thoughts.

"I'm really excited to see them," Justin said to the enthusiastic Asa, "but I think it'll be much more dramatic if they're revealed for the first time at the gym." If there was one thing that meeting cool Pokemon could wait for, it was dramatic effect. "You go pick up your new pals, I'll train mine, and we'll meet at the gym!"
Justin's team consists of Nike and Brutus for the coming battle. He applies Focused Training to them both, and Go-Goggles (via binding 2 AP) to Brutus.

Asa
Asa knelt down and examined both specimens. She held out a hand for them to smell, remaining regal and poised despite her previous excitement. Establishing herself as the dominate individual was paramount at this early stage.
”Your hypothesis is indeed supported by the reanimations. It will be solidified even more if the others have similar results." She dug into her pack and produced the Colubrid fossil and the fee to begin reanimating it.
”The results are even more far reaching. If this trend continues, it disproves the theory that revived fossils from other regions share the rock typing simply due to the revival process. While not conclusive, this new data challenges that line of thinking strongly. While I'd prefer if you wait on sharing this research, I understand the desire. Such a find will easily put you on par with Cinnabar."
Asa refocused her attention on the two Pokémon before her. ”Panzer. Sturm." She gave them each names in turn. ”Our training begins. We will show this region, and every other, just what Pokémon of the past are capable of."
She stood back up and smoothed her coat before holding out her hand to take the two Pokéballs from the researcher. Recalling both specimens, Asa went back to the Center and conducted her first training session with her ancient allies. Once completed, she headed toward the Gym to meet Justin and Bo.

All three Trainers arrive at the the Gym. Like most, it's identical on the outside to all other Gym buildings in the region, but is unique on the inside. This Gym is completely empty inside, save for two large circles on the ground in the left and right corners as soon as you enter. At the back of the room sits a huge, beautiful throne that looks like it was carved from stone. A large man sits there, but he stands as you enter.
"Morning," he says. "Challengers?"

Asa
The young researcher moved slowly. The last Gym had caught her unprepared and she refused to be made a fool of again. Despite the cautiousness, she knew it would be rude to not respond to the man. "Yes, we are each here for the Gym challenge."
She couldn't help but look to the circles in the otherwise empty room, wondering as to what their intended purpose was.

Waking that morning, he headed to the gym, parting ways with Asa as she went to get her fossils done at the lab. Taking some time, he thought it would be a good idea to give his two pokemon that were going to battle for the day a bit of a warm up. Fio and Toks as his party, taking the morning while Asa is at the Lab to apply brutal training. Quietly He stood back, as Asa took point for announcing their challenge intention. He was a bit dozey, having stayed up too late the night before reading through some of his father's texts.

"Like she says," Justin intoned with a grin. "What's the game? Some kind of wrestling match?" He was glad he hadn't had Brutus forget Wrap after all. That would be useful if the battle required grappling. He maintained his confident smile as he removed his hat, spinning it on a finger, and equipped his Go-Goggles. Wrestling match or not, he had a feeling a Rock gym near a desert would make use of sandstorms.

Asa Perception: They look like circular trap doors that are designed to slide open and allow something to pass through from either this direction or from below.
"Awesome," the man says. "The name's Cliff. Everybody pick a Pokémon and release it. Let's get this challenge started. You can fight, too, if you want. I will be. And I'll have two Pokémon. Still, that's a potential six against three, so the odds are in your favor."
He claps twice. The two circles on the floor open up and a tall stone totem rises out of each one.
"Rock-types are all about defense," Cliff says. "So defending is what you'll be doing. If you can last until my timer runs out, you win, but if I can manage to destroy both of those totems before time's up, you lose. Let's start."

Asa
The young commander looked between her friends and the totems. She seemed to be plotting for a brief moment before nodding to herself and reaching for a Pokéball. ”Sturm, I choose you!"
A flash of light produced a roly-poly mudkip. It's skin color was a deep purple instead of the light blue common to the species. The face was bleach white with dark circles around the eyes, giving the impression of a skull mask. It's feet hung beneath it, as if lazily treading the air instead of water.
”Focus on protecting a single totem. Splitting our defenses will allow them to overwhelm one side. Coordinate attacks until the specific target faints, no point in dividing damage." She spoke to the boys as she stepped to the side. It was obvious that she would not be participating directly in the conflict to come.
