Justin looked over his scores and grimaced. This was way harder than when he'd been in school. Noticing a couple discrepancies though, he walked up to the teacher, and got her attention. "Excuse me ma'am," he said. "I noticed a couple things with how my test was graded. This says that Poison types are immune to Poison, but that's not true, they just resist it." He then pointed to another question, "Also, I think your aide marked this one right accidentally. He wrote in Illumise, but I still got the point." He laughed a bit. "You know, it's pretty embarrassing. I actually worked for Professor Birch in Hoenn, and I couldn't think of that one on the spot."

The teacher looks its over. "Hmm. You're right. Steel Pokémon are completely immune to Poison, while Poison Pokémon are immune to being poisoned. In the end, there are immunities at work in both cases, but perhaps the test question's wording ought to be reworded. I'll change that answer so that it's marked 'correct'. Unfortunately, if I change the Illumise's question to 'incorrect', then your score is unchanged. However, I appreciate your honesty, so take this."
From her desk drawer, she produces one more token for the TM Machine. Using it, Justin gets TM 95 - Snarl.

Somewhat humbled by his test results, but pleased that his experience would potentially make the tests easier for people in the future, Justin left the school. Out in town, he began looking around for someone to battle, having promised his Gyarados some time. While walking around, he kept an eye out for any useful items that might exist.
Justin is using his two remaining actions to search for an item, and a trainer battle

Justin finds a Lum Berry and gets himself a battle.
After his battle he calls it a night and Bo rejoins the group as well. They rest and soon the next morning arrives.

Justin rose early and went through his lengthy morning routine as usual. Afterward he went outside and trained with Nike and Laius to prepare the three of them for the day ahead. He wasn't sure what they would run into, but it couldn't hurt to be prepared. After the completion of their training, he used the Center's computer to swap Nike for his new Hoppip, who he summoned to get to know. This was the first time since he'd hatched her that Nike wasn't in his party, but if all went well, that wouldn't last long. He sat down at a table with the little root Pokemon, giving her a candy bar to try.
Justin applies Focused Training to Nike and Laius, then switches Nike for the Hoppip that had been injured by the crazed Absol.

Asa
Asa managed to get a decent night sleep. In the morning, she ate a light breakfast and trained with her two revived team members. After the training she left them in storage and met up with Justin. "Good morning. I’m going to head to the lab and pick up the two that are revived. Do you have anything to do in Hickory, or should we hit the road today? Oh, messaged Walley and found out that he got injured. His friend said he’s in the hospital but ok."

Asa
It seemed that Justin was preoccupied with getting to know the Pokémon that they had recovered during the Absol incident. Asa was eager to do the exact same with her new team members at the lab. She left him at the Center and headed toward the lab.

"Good news!" the scientist says when Asa arrives. "The fossils completed the reanimation process faster than expected and we worked through the night to finish all three! You won't believe what they look like!"

Asa
Despite her excitement, Asa paused a brief moment to address the scientist. She simply could not leave such a mystery go unpondered. "How is the quickening of the process possible? Did you recalibrate the equipment after the first batch? There really is no way that it should simply go faster. If your records are correct, I only have one more type of fossil to revive, so you'll have to make sure to collect good data during the process if a review is desired."
She clasped her hands and rocked back on her heels slightly before leaning forward. "Those questions won't stop me from releasing the team though! Do you have their containment?" She motioned for him to lead her to the Pokeballs.

"It looks like running the machine nonstop causes additional layers of radiation to build up, effectively 'warming' the machine and letting it do its job faster and faster. We've never revived so many fossils at once so we never knew this could happen. But we've already confirmed that the revived Pokémon are completely healthy. Come and meet them!"
The scientist hands Asa a tray with Poké Balls on it.

Asa
The young paleontologist picked up the first ball from the tray and released her new team member. The dull hue of scales greeted her. No not scales, actual stone. Asa tilted her head slightly as she examined the creature as it stretched and yawned. A flame flared to life at the tip of it's tail. "Drache. Fossil flame. I am your trainer." She towered over the small lizard. Most trainers attempted to bond during introductions on a level of friendship, but Asa knew that ancient Pokemon had no interaction with humans. It was better for her to appear superior initially. The charmander locked eyes with her for a moment, there was a fierce wildness within. A challenge, or what would have been if it hadn't lowered it's eyes and tail after just a moment.
She held out the ball and returned the lizard to it's containment. "Better to interact with them for the first time without the distraction of another Pokemon. Especially if any were predators of each other during ancient times." Asa explained to the researcher. There was a second reason for keeping them all inside their containers. Asa hoped to keep their abilities as much a secret from the League as possible. Every advantage she could exploit, she would.
Asa hung the first ball from her belt and picked up the second. The temperature of the room dropped noticeably upon release of the small chunk of ice and stone. She tapped her chin as she examined the newly awakened beast. "Mauer. Fossil ice. I am your leader." She gave the Aron a moment to imprint her face and voice before recalling it. Looking to the researcher again, Asa shrugged slightly. "It appears that this batch is not strengthening our hypothesis. Both have been rock, similar to fossils from other regions... although Aron already shares a rock typing, so that result can be disregarded as proof in either direction."
The third ball produced a hiss and rattling warning coming from the coiled snake Pokemon. Asa remained motionless but at full height. She took a calculated step forward and the snake struck out. It's short body extended but failed to reach her foot, as she had held back from taking a full stride. As it attempted to recover into a coiled position, Asa reached down and snatched it by just behind it's head. She stood and stared at it writhing and rattling it's tail for a few moments. Once the rattling quieted, she spoke. "Ubel. Fossil rattle. I am your master." Squatting down, she released the snake to the floor. It coiled itself but did not rattle a further warning. Satisfied, she recalled it back to the ball.
With her new team members collected, she turned back to the researcher. "So, one remaining... excluding the rumored massive fossil. We will probably be continuing our journey today, but I will feed you updates on the Pokemon and return when I've earned enough to purchase the last of your copies, or find something new on my own."

"You've advanced the field by years," the scientist says. "My fellow scientists and I wanted to thank you somehow. We spoke about it and decided that we'd all pitch in and purchase the last fossil for you. We'll remain in touch and, when it's ready, we'll put the Pokémon into PC storage for you so that you can claim it wherever you happen to be. How does that sound?"

Asa
Asa seemed a bit shocked by the recognition and gift. More than meeting her ancient Pokémon for the first time. "Thank you. So much. No one has ever done something like that for me."
"I’m going to get prepared to head out to the next city. I’m sure it’ll be waiting for me by the time I get there." She smiled and bowed her head again in thanks before taking the three balls and heading back to the Center.

Heartfelt goodbyes and waves follow Asa to the door, and the thank yous and farewells are still going as the doors close behind her and everything is silent once more. Asa travels back to the Pokémnon Center. She sees that Justin is still just outside with his Pokémon, and now Bo is with him, too.

Asa
Asa transferred her new team members to the PC storage and looked at the map on her Pokedex, attempting to analyze what type of environment she'd be traveling through to reach the next town. There's a tunnel, meaning there would be a good chance that rock types would be present. She decided to keep her current team of Panzer and Sturm.
She packed up her bag and went out to see the boys again. "Well, I'm done here for now. I'd like to head out to the next city for a new badge. Are you guys up for it?"

The map shows that there's Route 03, headed east, and that leads right into Tevorah National Park. Form there, Route 04 goes south into Nosepass Pass. From there, Route 05 heads east again, finally arriving at Bluebonnet City. Looks like most of these areas are desert, plains, and/or grassland.
Bo and Justin indicate that they're ready to go.

Asa
"Alright, lets get this show on the road." Asa hefted her pack and headed out the door and toward Route 3.

About halfway through the journey over Route 03, the road begins a steep, downward incline. You can see all the way down below, way ahead of you, where a large van appears to have stalled. A black smoke rises from under its hood. It's hard to say for certain, but it looks like there's a guy down there using a tire iron to fend off a group of about four people who are trying to get access to the vehicle.

Asa
Asa moved quickly, breaking out into a run. She knew that Panzer moved too slow to intercede, but Sturm moved very quickly since she was able to avoid the bumps in the road while floating. Asa released her and pointed toward the van. "Defend the smoking steel until I arrive." She almost tripped up and called it a van, realizing mid-command that the ancient mudkip would have no idea what a van was.
Sturm floated rapidly in that direction, as if swimming through the air. Slowly she began to pull further and further ahead of Asa, who could feel her side burning already.

Sturm gets down there and starts to lend a hand, but the assailants respond by releasing Pokémon of their own.
