The opening at the end of the chamber is just shorter than the height of a doorway, and roughly oval shaped. The passage beyond continues to be lit by the small glowing crystals, but you can't see very far down it as it curves sharply to the left only a few yards along. The stone the cave is made from is a dark brown-green, and the air smells damp and cold, though noticeably not stagnant. It seems the underground pool is disturbed frequently enough so as to not fester.

Making a quick sketch of the environment around her, Zee took a record of the crystal-lined caves. Even without the time to put it in her Archives, she figured it would be a good idea to at least jot down the essence of the first part of the caves she'd seen before moving on to a potentially hostile environment. Zee makes a perception roll!

After making sure that everything was there, Mezzo was ready to go. It was likely that there would be dangerous pokemon ahead, so Mezzo let Legato take the lead. Mezzo's Perception: ulyZFfT22d6

Once it was clear that the others were relatively fine, Hatui briskly swam to shore. The clothes he was wearing were sopping and this was part of why he tried not to wear such unnecessary things when at home. He wrung them out as best he could before donning them again. They would probably be necessary later anyway. "What an interesting Pokemon... I don't think I've ever seen one quite like it," Hatui responded when Baraz released Fritz. "But I agree, the start may have been a little bumpy, but we at least made it all the way through the mines peacefully. Just got to take the positives with the negatives, right?"
As the others made their way to the entrance to the caverns, Hatui closely followed. The stone was a strange color of hazel and the crystals only dimly lit the area. Following Mezzo's lead, and now that they were somewhat away from the water, Hatui released Moai. They needed all the eyes they could get really. "All eyes out," he said cautiously. He decided to follow that up with a "Just in case," and a small smile to attempt to ease the tension. He had no idea what they would find down here and it was best they kept their wits about them. He and Moai kept in stride with the others, just behind Mezzo and Legato. Hatui Matuha made a Perception Check! | vN5F_wYp3d6 |

Once he had done his best with drying himself off Baraz followed as the others began moving toward the chamber's exit. As he moved passed Fritz he gave it quick instructions. "Follow along and keep and eye out for trouble."Baraz's Perception sIfVpqw52d6

Beat a 5: The cave is very quiet except for yourselves, and the ripples of the pool that still lap against the stone shore. Beneath that though, you are able to hear what sounds like faint, pitiful whimpering coming from down the corridor.
Beat a 10: It is difficult to see details in the strangely coloured gloom. There isn't enough light to truly highlight things. Despite this, you're able to make out dark marks on the cavern floor, as if something was dragged across it. Upon closer inspection, you discover them to be bloodstains. They lead to a small hole in the wall, not quite two feet across, at the right side of the room. You did not notice it before, because it appears there are no crystals inside. It is simply a patch of darkness.

Mezzo stopped when he heard the whimpering. It sounded like it was coming from farther down the hall, so he wanted to make sure the others heard it. "You hear that?" he said. Before he can elaborate as to what he heard, Legato notices something interesting on the floor. First he sniffs the trail through the floor before following it to where it ends at the hole in the wall. His curiosity gets Mezzo's attention.
The bard walks over to investigate the hole that Legato found. "Good find." Mezzo pats the little Shinx on the head before looking through the hole. He is careful not to get too close, just in case a pokemon tries to pop out and grab him.

Moai and Hatui had heard the noise and noticed the trail too. While Mezzo followed Legato over to the dark hole to scope it out, Hatui bent over to examine the trail more closely. Moai looked on curiously as Hatui ran his index and middle fingers through the trail to see what exactly the trail was. His fingers glistened crimson red: it was blood. Slightly taken aback by this gruesome discovery, Hatui quickly whispered over to Mezzo "Hold up... this is blood." Whatever was in this hole had either dragged an unwitting victim inside or was injured and hiding itself. Whichever the case may be, the danger of an attack was extremely high. A wounded Pokemon would probably stop at nothing to defend itself or, if it was a predator, it could very well view them as prey as well. "Be careful around that hole. Something inside was obviously injured"

Zee had heard the small whines that were coming from down the hallway, but she was more interested in Hatui and Mezzo's assertion that there was blood on the floor. "There's something injured?" she whispered, following their direction through the cave to a patch of the wall she hadn't seen. Her face twisted, her hand snapping over to her bag and retrieving her aid supplies. "Time is of the essence," she asserted, this time with more confidence. She sized up the hole. There was a chance, given her relatively small size, that she could fit through it, so she retrieved her lantern and held it in front of her, not yet lighting it. "Unless anyone opposes, I'd like to shed some light on the situation at the very least."

"I don't think anyone would be opposed to helping a pokemon in need." Mezzo holds his fingers near the lantern. With a snap of his fingers a spark of electricity jumps from his hand to the oil of the lamp, setting it aflame. Legato, seeing Zee's distress, stands ready at the opening. The Shinx was ready to pounce on anything dangerous inside.

As the lantern flickers to life, the area beyond the small hole is cast into light. The spotlight created by the opening falls upon a group of Pokemon. Two are humanoid, standing roughly two feet high. They carry old wooden beams, that look to have been taken from mine supports. The ends of the beams are stained red. The other three Pokemon are low to the ground: insects with sharp mandibles and glistening chitin. They are gathered around something that their bodies cast in shadow.
As they are illuminated, the Pokemon snap about, ready to fight off the perceived threat.

Seeing the pokemon that were seemingly attacking somebody else, Legato gets ready for battle. He charges up, preparing for an all out Electric-type attack. Legato uses Charge! He does not shift into the room, he remains with the party (although at the front)

These Pokemon are not waiting around to be someone else's food. The first Anorith, seeing the electricity crackling across the Flash Pokemon's fur, dowses itself and it's companions in a muddy substance. The second and third, their exoskeletons now wet with mud, scuttle across the cavern floor and over the lip of opening, putting them face-to-face with Mezzo, Legato, and Zee, holding the lantern. With their savage looking pincers, they lash out, one at Legato, and one at Zee.

Mezzo does his bard thing! Mezzo plays the Song of Life and the Song of Might as a full action.
All allies in a burst 4 receive +5 to damage rolls and 5 damage reduction until the end of Mezzo's next turn.

Hatui was hesitant to investigate the situation at all, but he was not cruel. He too wanted to hopefully help whatever might be injured. Thus, he didn't stop Zee and Mezzo from investigating. Sure enough, something came snapping out at them, getting some nasty looking hits off on Zee and Legato. Not even thinking about it, Hatui draws his Mata'a. With spear in hand he steps forward and attempts to stab the bug that attacked Legato while maintaining a 5 foot reach. What looks so far to be the stronger of the two Anoriths that attacked is momentarily pinned to the floor by a well placed attack from Hatui. Unfortunately, its armour is too tough for the islander's spear, absorbing nearly all of the blow, and being left with only a small scratch.
The two humanoid Pokemon seem less ready to spring into the fight than their insectoid brethren. They keep back, over the shadowed lump on the floor, looking menacing.
Anorith's Battle Armour reduces Hatui's critical hit into a normal hit. The two Timburrs use Focus Energy!

Baraz hadn't noticed anything untoward and was only alerted to the possible danger when everyone else started talking about blood or something. Looking around he couldn't see any such thing. Fritz seemed a bit agitated but that could be anything. Ambling along with the others he really didn't put much stock in this until something popped out of a hole in the wall that everyone seemed to be gathering around. Grabbing his whip he ran forward, it seemed like everyone was adept at getting themselves into trouble. He'd studied how to confuse a target with the right motion of his whip and the correct sounds so he began attempting to confuse the stronger looking bug. "Yeeeek!" Zee cried, not quite jumping back but recoiling as she was slashed at by the bug. She wasn't surprised enough to forget what she was doing, though, and she threw out Lillette in a flanking position to the bug that had attacked her. "Kill it, kill it!" she implored, hoping that Lillette would do its thing on the bug between them. Lillette used Water Pulse! | AC: | hnhYnJab1d20+Accuracy Bonus ≥ 2 + Target Evasion | Type: | Water | Frequency: | At-Will | Damage: | 2d8+24 | Crit Adds: | 2d8+10 | Damage Category: | Special | Range: | 8, 1 Target, Aura | Effects: | Water Pulse Confuses the target on 17+. |
(( Sarah forgot to add the +5 to damage for Ducklett from the song, it should be 33 but the spoiler tags are being finicky )) After the attack, both Ducklett and Zee disengage from the bug. Zee wasn't confident she could take another hit, and kicking this thing just wasn't going to cut it. 1d20·2d8+24·2d8+10

Upon seeing how little his mata'a was doing, Hatui called out to his Nosepass "Moai! Squash these bugs!" Moai, who looked almost like he had only just noticed danger (surely he hadn't...?) jumped into action. He waddled into range, about 6 meters away from the bugs, before chucking a rock at the Anorith Hatui had attempted to stab.Moai used Rock Throw! | AC: | aXPHFMt71d20 ≥ 4 + Target Evasion | Type: | Rock | Frequency: | At-Will | Damage: | 2d6+23 | Crit Adds: | 2d6+10 | Damage Category: | Physical | Range: | 6, 1 Target | Effects: | -- |
