Seeing Zee go through the hole, Legato made sure to put himself between the Anorith and the opening. This time he made another Spark, hoping to finish off the bug type pokemon. Legato used Spark! | AC: | YWXYXKET1d20+Accuracy Bonus ≥ 2 + Target Evasion | Type: | Electric | Frequency: | EOT | Damage: | 2d8+26 | Crit Adds: | 2d8+10 | Damage Category: | Physical | Range: | Melee, 1 Target, Dash | Effects: | Spark Paralyzes the target on 15+. |

Zee is able to safely skirt around the insect Pokemon, its focus at the moment on defending itself. In the small adjacent cavern, she kneels over the bloodied Pokemon and begins her examination. Only seconds in, it is quite clear that this Pokemon is dead. It isn't breathing, and the corpse is badly damaged; it looks like the other Pokemon had begun to eat it.
Legato's attack hits the chitinous armour of the Bug Pokemon, still wet with mud. The electricity is mostly absorbed harmlessly, but it is clear that the Anorith takes some damage. However, while it looks weakened it is not down quite yet. In retaliation, it strikes at Legato, with the ferociousness of a cornered animal.
Anorith M used Smack Down! | AC: | z1dscUQS1d20+Accuracy Bonus ≥ 2 + Target Evasion | Type: | Rock | Frequency: | Scene x2 | Damage: | 2d6+24 | Crit Adds: | 2d6+10 | Damage Category: | Physical | Range: | 8, 1 Target | Effects: | The target is knocked down to ground level, and loses all Sky or Levitate Speeds for 3 turns. During this time, they may be hit by Ground-Type Moves even if normally immune. |

Mezzo has had just about enough of these pokemon. Their journey had just begun and already two of their starting four pokemon had fainted. He was going to try and finish this fight with a last Shock Wave. With a last blast of lightning, the final wild Pokemon collapses. After the noise of the battle, the cave now seems strangely quite, the only sounds being the lapping of water against rock, and the faint whimpering that some of you can hear from down the glittering corridor.
We are now out of initiative! Everyone gets 49xp for their Pokemon that were active in this battle. Remember that fainted Pokemon can still gain xp in PTU.

Breathing heavily after that brutal encounter, Mezzo returns Legato to his Pokeball. They would have to tend to their wounded later, as the faint whimpering continued down the hallway. It may have been too late for this pokemon, but maybe someone could still be saved.
"Zee, we are going to need you out here," he says into the small compartment. "Hatui, Baraz, if you and your pokemon aren't too injured, go see where that whimpering is coming from. We'll be right behind you." He hoped that they wouldn't be too late, but the fact that the pokemon was making any sound at all gave him hope. It hadn't fainted yet, so it wasn't likely to die in the next couple of minutes.
"If you see any more hostile pokemon come right back here. If these pokemon are any indication, the pokemon here are brutal." Mezzo extended a hand to help Zee through the small hole.

"It's dead," Zee said as she reemerged from the hole, taking Mezzo's hand to help her back out. "Not long dead, though," she explained.
Her attention was so focused on the whimpering that she hardly was paying any attention to what Mezzo was saying at all. If she couldn't save this Pokemon, she could perhaps save another one from these bullies. There was a small, angry part of her who wanted to kill these Pokemon that had trounced all over Lillette and Legato. The path would be safer for future adventurers, and they would get what was coming to them. But, deep in her heart, Zee knew that wouldn't help anything. It wouldn't even make her feel better--if anything, it would probably just make her feel worse.
With the adrenaline of the battle wearing off, Zee looked down at her leg. There was a huge gash in her leg, part of her pant leg tattered and the blood dripping into her boot. She didn't have time right now to bind her leg completely, but she gave it a cursory look and decided it didn't need immediate attention, even if it did mean she would be limping for a little while. After they took care of the whining from down the hallway and when they had time to stop so she could look over Lillette and Legato, she would treat her leg as well.
Mezzo took charge like he usually did in crises. He decided that this cave would be the fallback point, an idea that Zee agreed to with a small nod. She had a few words for her companion, and as usual, she wasn't quite satisfied to just bite her tongue. She took her place next to Mezzo drawing herself to her full--and still unimpressive--height. "Be patient," Zee hissed so that Baraz and Hatui could not hear, but Mezzo could. "I was inspecting the body; it wasn't like I was wasting time in there. I hadn't forgotten about the whimpering."

Once the last of the Pokemon had fainted, Hatui instinctively went to check on Moai. There was a tiny scuff mark that was barely even visible where the Pokemon had scratched him, but other than that he seemed perfectly fine. In response to Mezzo's command, he nodded and replied "On it! Come on Moai!" Hopefully whatever was whimpering was alright and unlike the poor Pokemon in the hole. Hatui was certainly not heartless and wanted to scope out the situation. With Moai on his heels, he ran forward with as much caution as someone can muster when in a hurry. There could very easily be more hostile Pokemon this way, so he did need to be somewhat careful, but he could only assume that time was of the essence for whatever might be ahead.

Baraz wound his whip up after the last Pokemon had fallen. He nodded at Mezzo when he told the others to go forward, their Pokemon hadn't taken much damage in the fight so it made sense for them to take the lead while the others cared for those that had been hurt. Going to stand next to Fritz he gave it a quick command.
"Good job, let's follow Hatui."
Walking right being the spinning gears he kept his eyes out for any other danger.

Walking down the corridor, fortunately there isn't yet any other danger. The two pairs of trainers and Pokemon quickly find the source of crying they heard from the other chamber. Just around the corner is a small blue Pokemon, somewhat reminiscent of the larger one that the wild Pokemon had made their meal. The cave turns back to the right almost immediately, and when the little Pokemon sees the newcomers, it attempts to push itself further into the corner, but doesn't have anywhere to go. It continues to cry.

From down the hall, Zee observed the little pokemon. It looked a little bit like the pokemon from before, but smaller, in two, rotund sections. More than anything, it was adorable and frightened, and Zee's heart went out to the tiny thing. Thankfully for her, it stayed in the corner when it saw their group, not fleeing down the next hall. Trying to make sure it didn't feel cornered, Zee appraised the Pokemon from her distance, checking if it was hurt, trying to find out if she needed to approach as to heal the thing. More importantly, if this pokemon had just lost its mother or father, Zee couldn't leave it alone here. Zee makes a Medicine Education check!

The Pokemon is clearly trying to hide it, turning away from the gaze of the trainers, but it looks like there is a lump on the side of its head. It's not bleeding though, and it doesn't seem to be in any immediate danger.
The Azurill has 1 injury.

"Hey," Zee said soothingly, approaching the pokemon. Instinct kicked in, her desire to help the young Pokemon outweighing her ability to talk sweetly and carefully. "Come on. Your head must hurt. Let me take a look at you," she said. Zee makes an Intuition check (Mystic Senses)!

It seems having someone to worry about it was exactly what this Pokemon needed. As Zee expressed her concern, it looked up, tears at the corners of it's big black eyes. Then it burst into tears, and ran - as quickly as it could on its little feet - into the noblewoman's arms, all fear of her forgotten.

"Oh, you poor dear," Zee cooed, still concerned about the little blue ball. She scooped the pokemon up, it's huge tail trailing down to her knees, while its round body fit nicely in her arms. Its big ears batted softly against its face as it sobbed into her still-soggy shirt. "We took care of those mean Pokemon from before. You're okay now," she said. She thought about the body of the other blue Pokemon that she found before, and how once those Pokemon woke up from being fainted, they might come after the baby, too. "Here, why don't you come with me?" Zee suggested. "We can keep each other safe. I'll keep you safe," she said, asserting as much to herself as she was to the little Pokemon that she would be a good partner, especially after watching Lillette faint earlier. "I promise."

The sight Hatui and Moai came upon was a sad one indeed. A small blue Pokemon, no doubt the child of the dead Pokemon the others they fought had been feasting on, was cornered and crying. Hatui felt awful for it. The others weren't far behind, and Zee approached it to comfort it instantly. It would have been heartwarming to see her approach and console the little thing, but given the circumstances it was actually rather heart wrenching. They obviously couldn't leave the poor thing here: the fainted Pokemon would surely awaken and come for it eventually. Zee seemed to understand this as well and it looked like another may have just joined their party. Hatui cautiously walked over to her. "It's not too badly hurt then?" He knew little in the ways of medicine, but other than emotional damage it wasn't acting too worse for the wear. "We should get it away from this area... Not just for safety, but well..." Hatui frowned and trailed off. The poor thing definitely didn't need to see what had happened back there. This wasn't quite how he pictured the start of his adventure.

The little blue ball buries its face in Zee's arms as she comforts it, though it is careful not press its contusion against her. It looks like it intends to stay that way, at least for a while. With its tears now muffled, a faint sound can be heard from down the tunnel. It sounds as though there is a breeze blowing through the cave ahead.

Careful to avoid its injury, Zee takes out a Pokeball, showing it to the Azurill and allowing it to see what she was doing at every step of the way. Gently, she opened the Pokeball and moved to capture the Azurill. At Hatui's comment, she nodded. "I'm not keen on staying here too long, but give me a second," she says, waggling her fingers at Mezzo as to ask for Legato's Pokeball. Zee quickly whipped out some herbs from her pouch which she stirred together until they resembled the potions they had bought. Then, she spread it out onto some patches she was carrying, pressing them to Legato and Lillette. With that done, she also made some quick sketches of the party Pokemon and added them to her journal of things she'd seen on her journey. Hopefully, they'd be of use to her later. Lillette gains 40 HP from 2 Restorative Patches (Potion).
If accepted, Legato gains 20 HP from 1 Restorative Patch (Potion).

The Azurill watches Zee's actions with teary-eyed confusion, not really understanding what the human is trying to do. The Pokeball functions properly, enveloping the larger, blue ball in light, and sucking it inside. The second the ball closes though, the Pokemon bursts back out. On its diminutive face is a look of sheer panic. The emotion slowly fades as it looks around, finding itself in the cave once more.
Seeing the other Pokemon appear startles it initially, but when they wake, and prove non-hostile, the Azurill approaches them. It gives Legato a wider birth, but seems happy to see Lillette.

With Legato up and moving again, Mezzo felt much safer. He wasn't at his full 100%, but he probably wouldn't be for a long time. Thankfully, Mezzo himself didn't get hit once. He couldn't help but notice that Zee did not apply any of the patches to herself. She was always putting others before herself.
When the Azurill did not stay in the Pokeball, Mezzo was rightfully surprised. "Well, that's odd. I can't imagine the little thing isn't doing that on purpose." It did seem highly unlikely that the Azurill would want to escape from the Pokeball. At first he thought that it was some strange ability of pokemon in The Wilds, but that didn't make any sense. Zee caught the Timburr after all. Something else was going on here.

Hatui watched curiously as Zee did her thing. He knew so little about the ways of medicine as he just never bothered to study it when growing up. He was happy to see Lillette and Legato healed up a bit. The Pokemon popping out of the ball like that was indeed strange. However it was at that moment that Hatui got distracted by the sounds ahead of them down the cave tunnel. He hadn't noticed it in all the rush to help the little Pokemon, but there was a noise coming from up ahead. It almost sounded like... a breeze? How was that possible when they were inside a mountain. Hatui put a hand up to quiet the others and gain their attention. "Do you guys hear that?" He strained to listen closer. "I can scout ahead if you want to see what's up. I am, however, hesitant to split the group."
