After going through the supplies, Aikan had a visible frown on his face.
"We have enough for a couple, especially if I go fishing, but we need to stock up on citrus soon or we'll all gonna be dying of scurvy and other seafaring maladies. Twin Cape's a lighthouse, so I'd doubt they really have abundance of supplies over there, but they ought to have enough to get us to Whiskey. Best thing would be to grow some Sitrus or Oran Berries on board but for the life of me I don't have a clue how. I'm a fishman, and berries don't grow too well underwater"
He shrugged, then nodded at the map.
"So, who's navigating and who's at the helm?"

"Sounds like we have a plan then." Thinking about navigation. "I've studied quite a bit about navigation. Granted I've not had a chance to put it to use, but I've always wanted to try. This is as good a time as any, I guess. That is, assuming you're all fine with that."

"Gwahahaha! Sounds like a plan! Let's get moving then. I'll make check the rigging and make sure the sail is set."
Raúl walked over and began to check the sail as the ship headed to sea, watching the waves as it cut through them. Thoughts of the last time he'd made this trip all those years ago. Even though he hadn't headed through Reverse Mountain before. That'd be an interesting experience, he'd heard pirates talk about it before and it seemed to be rough. He couldn't wait.

"I'll take the helm, it's the least I can do for causing trouble." Rati gave the bunch of them a serene smile. "I know it will be hard to sleep after the day we've had, but please try to get some rest. Navigator, what's our heading?" She winked at C.C.

"I'll get working on a meal real quick" said Aikan, heading towards the edge of the ship and releasing his two Pokemon.
"Be back in just a tad, beware of being accidentally hit by the fish I throw aboard!"

Gen Ed roll=15 C.C. clears a nearby table and unfolds the map they found on the ship, studying it. He mostly mumbles to himself. "We just left Logueport....here, so that puts us right around...here...and we're going to Twin Cape...here..." Using the tools aboard the ship he follows the path already traced out. "We'll need to adjust our course twenty degrees due East. We're going to ride Reverse Mountain's current to Twin Cape."

Io felt discontented, observing everyone as they busied themselves with getting the ship to where they wanted to be. "Is there anything anyone needs help with? I may not be the most worldly of people, but perhaps there's something I can do. It doesn't feel right, resting while everyone else is at work."

After Io comments at being lost Raúl looks back, he motions her over to the rigging on the Port side of the ship.
"I can at least show you a bit of how the sails work. If we're going over Reverse Mountain then it'll be good to have as many people who know how to work it as we can."

Rati playfully rubs shoulders with C.C., following their intended course with her finger after the lines have been drawn using sextant and compass. "Sounds good, it's nice to have crewmates again. Once our course is set, Io, I'd like a word if I could. When you're not needed on sails, we could always use a lookout too."

Io nodded towards Rati as she made her way over to Raul. "Sure, we can talk about that." She turned to Raul. "I'm not a complete novice at this actually, I have been on boats before after all, but I haven't much needed to work with the sails myself, so this should be useful to properly get acquainted with, thanks."

Aikan found some schools of saury and cod not too far from the ship, and soon enough he'd managed to get enough of both kinds of fish to last for a little while. With the help of his pokemon, it barely took any time thanks to the aid of his Pokemon.
One he'd tossed enough aboard, Aikan climbed up the side of the hull and recalled his Pokemon before shaking a bit and attempting to pat himself dry.
"That should be enough to last us a little while!" he said, not really directed at anyone, before raising his voice a bit more so that everyone would hear him. "Anyone know if the ship has a name?"

With the rookie cartographers and the helmsman combining their knowledge and the maps that had been found in the cabins, it was determined that it would take the misfit crew less than a day to reach Reverse Mountain, the strong currents in the area sweeping them along. Even now the Red Line can be... less seen and morefelt in the far distance, its size such that it projects its very presence over vast distances.
Scouring through the ship there are a few crates of dried vegetables that hadn't been taken off-board yet,and even a sealed casket of limes. There was also a scrap of paper found in what was likely the captain's cabin that had the name of the ship as part of a missive to someone. The Salty Mudkip was apparently it's former name; but with the Marines having painted over the ship's hull it could easily be renamed to something else.
With the tiller locked in place and the course set, there was little to do but talk... and wait, as the insurmountable presence of the Red Line loomed ever closer. And with it, the siren song of freedom and adventure.

Done with watching and learning from Raul and having committed the lesson to memory, Io wandered over to where Rati was. "So, you wanted to talk?"

"Mhm~" Rati confirmed softly, taking Io's hand to guide her into the cabin. The woman's touch was insistently firm, but her movements weren't hurried. It was the sort of hand one might use to guide a child in times of danger or concern. Once safely in privacy, she sat, gently releasing her new friend to relax as she'd like.
"My Captain tries to shelter people like us. To maintain our innocence." Rati explained slowly, as though uncertain of how to proceed. "I was taken in when I was very young, after being scarred physically and emotionally. She's tended me ever since, trying to repair the damage that was done." The woman fidgeted a little, lacking that strong flirtatious aura of confidence she put on publicly.
"I need to know more about you, and how you feel about the life you've lead. I felt a connection when we danced, but I have to be sure."

Io had been smiling lightly at Rati as she listened. The smile slowly lessened, as she realized that this was going to be a serious talk. She wasn't quite sure what to make of the woman opposite her. Rati spoke of innocence, but she carried a mask of flirtatiousness and confidence. Io wasn't the best at reading people, but she could tell this much, and it reminded her of her own smile. Io wasn't sure she liked that. The woman seemed kind, and unlikely to hurt a fly, judging by her earlier actions. It was these qualities that eventually lead to Io's decision once Rati had finished explaining what she wanted.
"...Alright."
Make no mistake, Io was not the type to go around telling people who were technically still strangers to her the more personal details about her life, but she was going to make an exception this time. In her mind, she instinctively sent a quick prayer to Nyx, hoping that this wasn't a mistake. Praying had started to become a little awkward these days, as she wondered whether the original Nyx was really a goddess or not and whether she herself was a goddess or not. Everything she had experienced since the Eventide Kingdom pointed towards the answer 'No'.
"So you want to know about me, huh?" A smile was starting to grow on Io's face once more, not anywhere near a fully blown grin, but something small and weak, a defense against the sadness that threatened to overwhelm her whenever she thought of her past. "I guess I can start at the beginning. I... was the princess of a meritocracy known as the Eventide Kingdom. This meritocracy was based around a devil fruit known to us as Nyx' Heart. You might better know it as the Yami Yami no Mi. Everyone in the kingdom strove to become strong enough to fight for the right to eat it, and therefore rule the kingdom and I was no different. Eventually, the location of this devil fruit was leaked. Pirates and marines alike stormed our small island repeatedly, all lured by the promise of power." Io's eyes became a little glassy. "We weathered the assault as best as we could, but it was all for naught. We were just a small kingdom, how could we prevail, when the world wanted us dead?" Io's smile finally died, as a single tear ran down her face. She looked to the ceiling, pretending the tear didn't exist. "In the end, they killed everyone, from the strongest warrior, to the youngest child. As far as I know, I'm the last of my people. My mother-" committed suicide, she thought but couldn't say. "Died, so that I could take Nyx' Heart and escape."
Io wiped the tear away. "How do I feel about this? Nyx, our goddess, told our people to be merry. It is my duty as a former priestess to follow her teachings, and so merry I shall be. My past, all these memories, they hurt, but I can't live without them, so I ignore the pain, and I keep smiling. I've spent my days travelling and training to become the strongest and to get revenge. That's the only way I can continue to live."
"Your captain sounds like a good person, but I am a warrior, born and bred. I can fight through the pain and suffering, knowing that some day I will achieve my goals."
Io sighs a little, a mixture of relief at being done and sadness, before the weak smile makes its return. "I hope you have heard what you wanted to know?"

Rati sat through Io's story with an expression of profound sadness, the likes of which only a child could wear. It was not tempered by experience or belief the way the other woman's was. Gingerly, she took one of the warrior's hands in hers and squeezed it firmly. At the comment on her Captain, her expression scrunched up in confusion, like trying to solve a puzzle or parse a thought. "It was not meant to be then. The Captain, she..." Rati let her eyes wander before they returned to Io's face.
"She protects and preserves innocence, whether the people she sees it in want it or not. I love her dearly, and she carries good intentions..." Rati trailed off and seemed to catch herself, withdrawing physically and emotionally from her peer in that moment. "I am sorry for your struggles, and your loss. Even if you are not a pure soul, you are still a good one. Thank you."

As everyone else settles in, C.C. stays glued to the navigation table. He nervously retraces every route as he studies the map in front of him. It was very much like the maps he had back home, so everything should be fine. Less detailed, but readable. This would be so much easier if I had more experience. Anytime one of the "crew" passes by he will glance up ready for conversation, but he is otherwise occupied.

And so the ship sails onward... Eventually, signs of the approach to Reverse Mountain began to show. Odd currents, flotsom that looked out of place, even a flash or two of tough-scaled strange pokemon that hunted in these choppy waters, taking advantage of schools of fish that swam too close to powerful currents they couln't hope to fight. And in the distance, rapidly coming closer was the Red Line... and the thin cleft that was in reality the massive surging torrent of the East Blue current, rushing headlong to meet its brothers. Rain began to fall, lashing the deck as the tiny vessel was sucked in line with the cleft. Navigation check from C.C., and athletics checks from all others in order to properly set the sails and keep the tiller on course.

Rati planted her feet firmly on the deck. She sorely missed her sandals, and they had been nice ones too, all the same her feet gripped the planks better then the flats ever could. Her mended dress began to billow in the high winds as rain began to spatter the crew. "I never did like this part." She mumbled as she gripped the wheel. "All hands, prepare to trim sail."

Raúl stays by the sails after Io leaves, the others seem interesting but he feels it's more important to concentrate on the task at hand. He watched the Red Line as is slowly grew on the horizon, neatly splitting the sky and sea from one another. That was what they needed to concentrate on. Then he finally managed to see it, the current raging upward into a rent in the rocks. Raúl smiled and ran to get into position as Rati called out the command, how long had it been since he'd been the one doing this part? It actually felt good getting hands-on with the basics once more.
"Gwahahaha! I'm in position!"
