The Growlithe snarls and chuffs, but is wobbling and stumbling on its paws now. It also looks slightly cross-eyed. The Oddish, seeing its crewmate in trouble, waddles forward, ignoring Callisto for the moment. Getting closer to CiCi, it begins to glow an eerie green, before tiny filaments launch forward, gently lying on CiCi's exposed skin and then beginning ot drain him of energy. [CiCi takes 28 points of Special Grass Damage] Io - 20 Paulie - 14 Callisto - 12 Meditite - 11 Aikan - 10 CiCi - 10 Growlithe - 9 M4 - 7 Raul - 5 Marea - 4 Oddish - 3 Alba - 2

The Meditite quails under the fearsome gaze, before straitening back up and taking its stance once more; albeit a bit sloppier than it had been...

Io eyes the situation quickly before deciding on a course of action. She's quite glad the Oddish chose to switch targets, but that doesn't mean she's going to show it any mercy. Io narrows her eyes, and at the very edge of her orb of darkness, teeth form, followed by a maw. The half formed face Snarls at the Oddish and Growlithe, the sound being carried by a wave of dark energy.

As the Growlithe falls Paulie shifts it's attention to the walking plant that was draining energy from his trainer, aiming one more strike with its beak.

"Callisto, Scratch your way back here!" Io called out. Callisto's eyes brightened. She liked this idea. Positioning herself in front of the Oddish, Callisto dashed past it, while attempting to Scratch it as she did so, ending up back in the relative safety of Io's darkness.

The Growlithe collapses, spent. The Oddish endures the strikes from Paulie, but it's looking heavily wounded, dark green sap oozing from deep gashes on its body. Callisto's attack from behind is enough toput it down for the count as well. The Meditite however rallies, bringing its hands together and then "pushing" another psychic blast at Raul. [Raul takes 23 Special Psychic damage] Io - 20 Paulie - 14 Callisto - 12 Meditite - 11 Aikan - 10 CiCi - 10 Raul - 5 Marea - 4 Alba - 2

With all visible threats out of the way, C.C. heads toward the ship preparing to board nearly tripping over Io's small furry companion.

The Meditite drops bonelessly to the dock, all the fight drained out of it along with its consciousness. The guard forces have been defeated, and any backup they may have has yet to materialize. Casting off is simplicity in itself now, and with little fanfare your motley group is headed out to sea. To the east lies Reverse Mountain, the gateway to the Grand Line and freedom; the other Blues to the north, south and west under the relative firm control of the Marines.
The seas are calm, the moon is bright, and the stars are shining down gently as you sail off into the world.
Gain 5 Trainer XP, 335 mon XP (at least half of which must be given to the mon you had in combat).

"Sorry about holding back. like that." Rati apologized softly when they were all finally settled on the deck of the ship. She hadn't been idle during the battle, there was a lot of work that went into casting off! Still, people had been injured more then they'd needed to be. "I'm a lover, not a fighter, my Captain prefers I stay safe and avoid bloodshed whenever I can, but that chapter's behind us now at least." She considered the rigging for a moment.
"After all of you worked so hard, it wouldn't be fair of me to ask for the cabin. I'll sleep in the crow's nest."

Io shakes her head with a smile. "Don't worry about it, there's nothing wrong with not being a warrior." Though Io was curious about what the rest of Rati's crew was like, she decided not to ask. The phrase 'that chapter's behind us' seemed to imply some negative events. Maybe she was thinking too much about it, but Io couldn't help that, she had always struggled to catch the meaning behind other people's words, and as such spent more time than average thinking about what it could be.
In response to Rati's comment where to sleep, Io seems somewhat noncommittal, saying little more than "If you're sure."
With a smile still on her face, Io looks at the others. "Wasn't that battle fun, though?" She lets out a little laugh. "I haven't been able to let loose like that for ages. It felt good." Her smile gains a teasing edge as she looks at Rati, "You're missing out, my friend."
"Oh, on the topic of where to sleep, should we decide on that now? Perhaps we could make it random."

"I mean, for a certain definition of fun. As nice as knocking some heads in is, I'd have preferred being way into the blue when they came for us" said Aikan after going back and recalling Marea. He'd given the Popplio a headpat, and decided to make sure to fish her something special later for her meal.
"As long as I have a spot near the kitchen, I'm fine with whatever" he then added. "for efficiency's sake, if nothing else. Though I can guarantee everything in there's gonna be way too tall"

Watching with pride as Alba spikes the Meditite Raúl gives another hearty laugh. Seemed like she was getting into the spirit of things. That fight had been a bit closer than he would have liked but it was a good one all things considered. Taking out Alba's Pokeball he gave her a smile as he recalled her.
"Gwhahaha! Good job lass, you'll make a prizefighter yet!"
Afterward, he walked up the gangplank and joined the others as they were talking. At Rati's comment, he shrugged. A ship was usually crewed by more than just fighters anyway.
"Takes all kinds lass, haven't had a knockdown brawl like that in a while but it's good to be back into things."
Io had said something similar which warmed Raúl's heart, she seemed like the kind that would be good for a scrap. The group then started talking about beds which was fine but he felt they had other things to worry about for now.
"Watch out, you'll get yourself soaked in the first rainstorm that hits us sleeping out there. I'm sure if nothing else there must be a few hammocks around. Either way, right now we need to concentrate on getting this ship out of the harbor and away from any possible pursuit. Any of you think you'd make a decent helmsman?"

As he approaches the ship and boards it, C.C. calls to his bird. Paulie dutifully flies his way over and perches on C.C.'s shoulder. "You did well, thank you." C.C. strokes the bird's head before recalling him.
As to the question of sleeping arrangements. "I don't particularly care where anyone sleeps, so long as we figure out where we are going. We may have taken out the crew, but it won't be long before we have more company on our heels. We should not wander aimlessly."
"Fun? Well I suppose it beats the alternative, but I don't know if 'fun' is the word I'd use. Liberating, perhaps?" He sighs and stares off into space thinking of all of the words he could use to describe the encounter.

"I've some small experience at navigation and steering. There aren't likely to be any stores on ship, barring Aikan being able to catch enough fish for six with his bare hands we should make port nearby for supplies. After that, anyone's guess is as good as mine. Were there any charts aboard?" Rati settled against the helm.

Going through the ship turns up a small cache of supplies, enough to at least last the group a few days. There's also a basic local map with a course charted towards Reverse Mountain. Past there the map ends, but there's notations about some kind of lighthouse in a place called the Twin Cape, as well as a course indicating a nearby island on the other side of the Red Line, called "Whiskey Peak". With Aikan supplementing your stores with fresh fish, you've probably got enough food to reach the Twin Cape and resupply there.
Any of the other places on this side of the Red Line appear to be too far out of the way to get to without more supplies, and going back to Lougetown is probably a bad idea...
