"I don't see any reason to stay in this tiny, nothing town, any longer," Justin said, intentionally loudly enough for someone nearby to hear, with a smile and a wink. A quick check of his own Pokedex later, and he is truly ready to go, easily as excited as Asa to start his Pokemon journey in earnest. "Shall we?"

Meeting up with the others, he nodded. "Yeah, I think that I should be good as well for our little desert trip. Just need to make sure the goldeen is with me when we enter."

The group reaches the town exit and they set out onto Route 01. The path is safe and well-maintained. No wild Pokémon would be hanging out on the Route itself. Mere feet off to either side of the Route, however, is a different story. The path turns to the north and soon the group is on Route 02. About halfway up the Route there is a large white gate where a man in law enforcement uniform stands guard.
"Okay, that's far enough," he says when you approach. "Up ahead is the Walnut Desert. No passage allowed without a flying Pokémon that can carry you or a Water-type Pokémon that can Fountain. If you can meet either of these requirements, demonstrate it now."

Justin barely contained his enthusiasm as the group made their way along the road that was the start of their adventure. While he was tempted many times to sidetrack off into the wilderness on either side of the path, he managed to hold himself back, knowing that his companions probably wanted to make good time. And because Wally was getting well ahead of them, and that just wasn't acceptable.
"Frankly officer," Justin said when the guard requested proof of their ability to make it across the desert, "I am shocked, and a little insulted, that you could not tell we are more than capable of conquering this challenge!" He placed his hand on his chest as he spoke, and arranged his face to show the insult he had remark on. "But if you must see proof, very well." With a flourish, he threw Laius' - his Magikarp - Pokeball into the air, and caught the orange fish in his arms. He was only able to hold the pose for a second before his facade cracked and he started laughing.

Asa let out a small giggle before composing herself and releasing Maw, who yawned and stretched in the warmth of the Sun.
”There you are, sir. Maw, show him fountain.” The little crocodile spit water like one of those pond statues for a brief moment.

The officer is momentarily caught off guard by how offended Justin is, and he looks like he's ready to apologize, but then Magikarp shows up.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me with that thing," he says, rolling his eyes.
Maw appears and spouts a fountain of water.
"See?" the officer says. "That's what I'm looking for. You need a Pokémon that can do that, son, not flop around being useless."

"I'll have you know," Justin said, with a hint of the false pomposity from before that is totally ruined by his uncontained smile, "Laius is no ordinary Magikarp. Show him, Laius!" In response, the Pokemon puffed up indignantly, both at the lack of respect from the officer, and at his trainer not taking him seriously. Then, he released a great spray of water, deflating, and dowsing the entire group, including the desert guard, in water.
Looking over his once again soaked clothes, Justin sighed, and said, "I'm just going to have to get used to this, aren't I?"
Should it come up, we all have one step of resistance against one fire attack now Also, Justin's luck rolls for the two routes: IDYBAlm71d201d20 1d20·1d20

The snickers could not be contained from Bo either, as he himself released his Goldeen, who sprayed it's own small shower of water while he held the fancy fish Pokemon in his hands.
"We should all be fine then, yes Officer?"he said, barely holding back full on laughter.

"...Yes," the man says, blinking the water out of his eyes and holding his dripping arms out to his sides. "G-Go on through."

”So sorry... at least you’ll dry quickly?” Asa bowed to the guard and hurried through the gate before his mood grew foul. She recalled Maw to his ball for the start of traveling through the rugged terrain.

In a burst of white light befitting the majesty of his appearance, the Magikarp was returned to his Pokeball. His drenched trainer followed the archaeologist coolly, tipping his hat to the equally sopping guard, prompting a stream of water to run from its brim.
For someone dripping wet, and about to embark on a trek across a desert with nothing but a Magikarp to keep him alive, Justin probably looked a little too happy. But it was exciting! They were truly exploring now, and he had never been to a desert before! The one north of Mauville back in Hoenn wasn't impossibly far away from his home, but he had rarely left Littleroot Town before coming to Tevorah. It was finally time for him to venture out into the world and test his mettle against all it had to offer. "Let's show this desert what we've got!"

The desert is a dangerous place. The Weather is always Sunny by default, and Sandstorms can appear as well. The group completely dries out after only a few minutes of walking. It's pretty much featureless, and is a long walk. There is one point of interest - a large warehouse that just sits by itself in the middle of the desert. It makes no sense for it to be there and there doesn't seem to be any identifying markings on the building or even a way inside. Unless anyone wants to stay in the desert to see what wild Pokémon can be found, the only thing to do is proceed to the next town.

"As a naturally curious person, I can't help but want to see what is in that warehouse. Are either of you interested?" Asa had paused and studied the building from afar, weighing her options.

"I certainly am," Justin said, inspecting the incongruous structure. "I imagine the guard would have warned us if we were meant to stay away. Looks like our first challenge will be figuring out a way in." There had to be an entrance obviously, so where was it? On the top maybe, for flying into? Or perhaps underground? Closer inspection was probably required. "Just give me one second to switch Pokemon."

It's a large cube of a building. It should have at least one door or window, but it has none. Just gray, featureless walls on all sides.
The sun takes its toll. Your bodies are being slowly dried out. You turn to your Pokémon and must drink some of its Fountain water as your next immediate action or take a Tick of damage.

Wandering on after, as soon as they were out of sight of the guard to the rout, he went about swapping the goldeen out, thinking Toks and Fio would be the best choices for the time being as they walked. "Warehouse? What could something like that be doing out here? Nobody around it that you can see?" he asked, as he walked with the other two, squinting in the bright sun to try and get a proper look himself Goldeen Swapped for Fio. Justin wiped his forehead, squinting up at the strange cuboid building. His sunglasses were not enough for whatever sun hung above this place, and not the rest of the world. His coat was quickly removed and stowed in his bag, but he still found himself swaying in place, dizzy from the heat. It took him a moment of fumbling with his Pokedex before he was able to swap Nike for Laius. As soon as he did, he summoned the Magikarp, drinking from his hands that it filled with water, trying not to think about how gross that whole concept was.
The cool water returned him to his senses, and he was once again able to think about the problem at hand. He cleared his throat before speaking. "We're supposed to be exploring, right? How far does that mission extend? Could it justify breaking and entering a weird building in the desert?" Justin himself honestly wasn't sure of his opinion on the subject. He didn't want to leave this building without answers though, particularly with a band of teleporting kidnappers roaming the area.
Is the building sided with sheet metal?

The building looks like it's walls are made of many, many panels of some sort of metal, yes. Each square is about 10'x10'. It's a very dark color, and matte as well. It doesn't crazy-reflect the sun at you, thankfully. There really seems to be no way into this thing. At least for now.

Asa wiped the swear from her head and called out Maw for a drink of water. After cooling off, she pointed his fountain at the side of the warehouse to observe, wondering how hot it got sitting in the desert sun. After the water cooled it, she tapped on the dark panel to see how hollow it sounded. Perception yaUVojE22d6 2d6

Fumbled to swap out his Pokemon, but as he was about to, he just realized how parched he was. Maybe would be best to keep the Goldeen out for a few sips of water. He released the Pokemon, holding it carefully in its arms as it let out some water for him to sip, before he recalled the Pokemon.
Making his way after Asa, watching her knock the side. A thought came through t him though, looking at the ground. "Well, I'm of two thoughts for this structure." he said, wiping the sweat from his brow. "Either the building was built like this by someone who wanted to contain something, or looking at all the sand, maybe the original entrance is buried. There are plenty of sandstorms here yes? Maybe the building could be partially covered."
