"Pierce, come.". Stag turned and patted a spot on her shoulder blade. The sharp eyed cocoon snipped the thread it dangled from, another spakked against his trainer and drew him flush with his new post. "Pods can get around, but it uses a lot of energy. Mostly they just cling to stuff and harden to the point a grown Pinsir can't break one. No mobility, and no sharp bits, so they're all about defense."
She squinted in the direction of the mountain, then considered the Oranguru. "Did you already show me all the trainer stuff already?"

With this action, Terra gives a slight nod of understanding and being a bit impressed at the swapping from tree to shoulder. "That's pretty neat, considering they can't move."
There's a pause when Stag asks her question. Terra takes a moment to think over it. "I think I covered the basics pretty well?" she answers. Tone was mostly confident in that response before adding after a second thought. "Being a trainer really comes to I guess, just finding the way that works for you best. There are some who talk to the pokemon they want on their team instead of battling," she explains.

"... How will you know if they are any good at defending your nest?". Stag added a sputtering noise as an afterthought. "That one." She indicated the Oranguru. "Wussed out before it was over. Hey, grab your guys and scoot. If you're in the way when we come back through you won't like it." Reluctantly, the ape began collecting his fallen brothers and removing them from sight one at time.
"Let's get up that cliff, see what we can see."
(An athletics check unless you are taking another route up.)

"I'll admit that I don't know the answer to that one." She tells her honestly, looking towards the Oranguru. "If that one didn't surrender, all of them would be able to be attacked later with no defenses. Sometimes, as much as it sucks, there comes a time to give up."
Terra lets the pokemon leave the area, before refocusing onto the cliff that Stag points out. More than ready to move on from where they were. "Yep. Let's get to it!" A stretch to limber up after the fight before she starts to work her way up the cliff with a bit of effort. Athletics Roll: 16

Stag gave Terra an odd look. Giving up for safety's sake? She was a rock, they weren't really known for swarms. Losing was probably flat out fatal. No one to heal you, or haul you back to a well defended spot. They were doing that now even. Shaking her head, she started up the cliff after her friend.
In the sky above the mountain they'd chosen were all manner of butterflies. They danced and spun in the afternoon light, their patterns from far and wide. Between heavy breaths as they ascended, Stag called up. "I remember now. A story... A Vivillion in yellows and blacks told us once... About a "land in the sky" not far from us. Where they all nest."

It wasn't the easiest thing to try to explain, it wasn't her original instincts. However being human and going through what she had, and seen the different types. She came to understand it somewhat.
So many patterns and colors, Terra couldn't help but stare in a sense of awe for a time. Hanging there for a moment, listening to Stag explain the story, before regaining her senses and pulling her weight up the side. "Sounds like a story hard to believe..." she comments, though the tone wasn't one of doubt.

Winded but fine, the duo arrives on a plateau along the cliff face. It reveals a canyon winding deeper into the crest of the mountain, and beyond hints of vibrant greens and blues. Nothing grows here, but Terra recognizes scuffs and pits in the rock along the canyon floor and the low portion of the walls.
Diggers live here, either in shallow pits, or buried completely.

There is a minute or so where Terra catches her breath before she begins to look over the scenery. Canyon had her moving towards the edge to look downwards. "I wonder... what we have living here?" she says aloud watching the holes.
She lets her senses tune into the earth beneath her feet in case she could pick something up for any hints of size or numbers of what is living in the area. "Keep alert. Just in case," Terra tells her pointing out the disturbed areas. "Not sure what's around."

Terra can feel the faintest tremors in the pits nearby, a jagged maw poking free of a sandy patch just enough to be spotted. As the movement begins, there is a collective stir, and it becomes obvious that there is a great deal occupying this space. The ground softens and begins to churn and writhe, sand now where it had been stone only seconds before.
(The way forward is now Arena Trap, wall to wall.)

As the vibrations traveled up her legs, she would make a signal for Stag to pause in moving forward. "Whole place is full of something," she points out, finger moving to spot the maw from the patch.
Terra was impressed at the ground changing before them in their make. "Wow..." she breathed out seeing that it stretched the path. Before a shake of her head brought her back.
"So what do you think? Wanna fight through? Or try to just go over it?" Terra asks. "I've got a couple of pokemon that we could ride on and not get stuck in all that mess either way," she offers motioning to the sand, seemed pretty similar to what she had done in their previous encounter.

"Looks like biters. They sleep in the ground for a long time, when they get old enough they grow wings, scream a lot, and mate. Walking over that would not be smart...". She considered the air with a squint.
"Whole canyon might not be safe, think they've got those floating rocks hidden here too." She considers the greenery beyond with an intense expression. "This is definitely it. Not easy to get into, but hard to live here. Only thing is how do we get by?"

There is a slow 'hmm' brought from Stag's information. Ground dwellers was something that she made note of. The rest of that however was not that promising, she does a bit of a walking back and forth in a short line. Brain doing its best to come up with some sort of idea. Sky rocks definitely wouldn't do well for her pokemon who could fly.
"Is there anything else you know about the snappers?" she asks curiously. She approaches one of the cliff sides that was close to them. She puts a hand against it, taking some time to think on a couple of ideas. "Maybe not flying..."

"They really don't like the cold, and they're notoriously lazy. They just sit there half asleep until food just falls into their mouths? Could probably move along the cliffs until we're by... That might work.". Stag moves into position opposite Terra and tests her grip on the uneven rock face.
One of the biters wiggles a large round head free of the soil, an odd star-shaped eye considering each girl.

"So... for the most part sounds like they aren't really active hunters," Terra comments glancing back down into the path where the snappers were. Attention caught by the one head watching them.
"Think you can handle the distance?" she asks Stag eyeing the distance to pass the obstacle in front, while giving an experimental lift with her arms. Testing the surface of supporting her own weight. They could do that, probably.

"Yeah I'll be fine, long as they don't get any funny ideas.". Stag started along the rock face. The further she moved, the more the 'biters' unburied to watch. Once she cleared the section of churned earth, the Pokemon made a liesurely exodus to another broad patch and settled again.
"Oh come on."

Terra would follow suit, and settling down on the next 'landing' spot that they got to, she would look ahead of them hearing Stag's words.
"That... is going to put a dent in our plans..." she comments, frustration bubbling under her words.
Bag set on the ground at her feet she gives it a quick little rustle through, nothing really sticks out to her to form an idea, at first. Frustrated sounds made as she wracks her brain some more before grabbing a couple of things. Pulling out the jar of honey and her fancy rod. "Think those guys might like honey?" she asks, lifting the jar up. What exactly she was going to do make her 'plan' work? That was a mystery to be figured out.

Stag found an outcropping to seat herself in and watched Terra. "I've never met a bug that didn't like honey... You can just bring it with you without getting it on everything?". She eyed the jar. "That's awesome. Going to make them fight over it?"

That was comforting in a way to hear that. "Yeah, the jars are pretty handy for a lot of things," Terra admits setting the honey down for a moment. With her free hand she ends up breaking off a part of the cliff, about a handful of rock. Something that she could put on the line, wrapping the rock with the string a few times.
"I'll be honest... Not entirely sure what I'm expecting. Better than just sitting here doing nothing though," she tells Stag with a partial chuckle at her lack of a solid plan. Rock firmly wrapped up, she grabs the jar and slowly pours the sweet over the 'weight'.
Then Terra takes a sturdy stance, feet planted wide. "Okay... Test one, here we go!" she states before winding the rod back and doing a cast out, honey rock flying into the Trapinch Field before them.

"I think I saw a spider do this once.". Stag comments as the rock hits the sand. Dirt covered honey must really do the trick, a moment later with a meaty crunch, Terra hauls a big headed, starry eyed, jagged mawed bug looking creature out of the sand. It wiggles its stub legs for purchase but doesn't release the honeyed rock.

Honestly, Terra hadn't expected a bite that quickly! So at first she tensed up in surprise. Though she shook that off and remembered how she reeled in the water pokemon with Muku. Tugs and turning the reel in a rhythm. Out of the hole the pokemon came, but she wasn't going to stop there. The sand dweller's body would continue to be dragged towards the cliff. Then, up and up Terra began to work the line.
"This feels... very different than when I was at the beach," she mutters out between her yanks. Just stay focused and don't let the reel go.
