Whitney agreed wholeheartedly that privacy would be for the best, and on settling into her small and almost overwhelmingly girly office at the head of the gym, the duo began to rifle through the things Terra had 'appropriated' from Maxie's research. Most of the dossiers were on people that Terra was familiar with, either among the lab subjects, or from the little group she'd traveled with before that whole incident. Whitney's usually soft expression tightened with disgust as she moved from one folder to the next. "Probably for the best that Stag was preoccupied catching up. Most of these reports are very clinical and manipulative is putting it lightly. There are behavioral profiles in most of these that put forward the best way to control a given individual based on their preferences... I'm not sure if I can ask Thel anymore favors."
Terra finds the file on Ruin, which details individuals present in the room at the time of the report, and intimately describes the markings he was so defensive about down to the languages it was in, some script dating to Johto's feudal period. The addendums add that he frequently broke containment, and each time he did, one of the attending members perished. People who had viewed the transcript of his appearance too, seemed to be target for this. It wasn't always violence, occasionally accident, illness, or 'mysteriously in their sleep', but fatalities climbed around his case in particular.

There was silence as Terra now took time to glance at a few of the files that were on herself and the others. Now that she wasn't trying to escape or fight some sort of horror. What all had these people written about them? A huff leaving Terra as she heard Whitney. "Why wouldn't they do that. Fits that they'd keep track of that sort of thing.." Frustration heard in her tone.
Ruin's file had her interest in what she had read. Memories of the markings she had seen taking a moment to come back. Curious more so about how such incidents could occur to those who viewed the markings. A small inkling sitting in the back of her mind noting that everything that had happened to her so far, she wouldn't consider herself falling victim to the same stances as the others that had been mentioned.
After a little more time examining notes, including the file on herself. She would also retrieve the injection vials and the bug 'Observation Platform' technology. "These are the other things that I snatched from their hideout." Setting them down on the table.

From the desk of Maxie;
Ruin - Subject exhibits a myriad of powers frequently encountered in Ghost-Type Pokemon despite very clearly being flesh and blood. Many of these are beyond scientific comprehension at this time, having spoken with occultists on the matter I've hypothesized that this 'reverse world' that many of them speak of as a second home to the spectral follow different rules than our own. Contact with the subject's bodily fluids is to be strictly avoided with blood being the chief among these. Personnel are to engage subject when he is sedated and while wearing NBC class PPA.
Update; Subject often slips containment even while under direct supervision and has developed resistance to narcotics. Further, this development appears to have removed his need for sleep entirely. There is nothing we can do to impede his cognizance significantly enough to continue testing or scanning the language on his body. The staff that have engaged in any portion of this research have met with often grisly fates. It doesn't seem to matter how many redundancies we assign for power, cameras, or observational staff, a lapse occurs, usually in the form of a wave of darkness, and he's gone. Through locked doors, sometimes across vast distances, a Level 3 Researcher took vacation in Blackthorn to visit family and was found with their neck broken, swaying from a length of weed and ichor over the inside of the Dragon's Den. Halting testing entirely at this time, subject will be contained and nothing more.
Thel - Samples taken by Flare's science team run under spectrogram suggest that subject produces on odorless pheromone with both modulator and signaler qualities. Without close study, I can only hypothesize as to its purpose, but if it is anything like the chemicals used by his Salandit counterparts, it creates favorable social interactions by making him both appealing and non-threatening. Salazzle are well known for having little tolerance for aggressive males. Further, our active observation has brought to light his susceptibility to a woman's words. If attempting to direct/handle in the future, employ a female agent.
Muku - Prone to fits of aggression and action without thought, even with her direct friends and peers. A very capable battler but a poor tactician, seems to lean into 'hit it very hard', and does not tolerate mix-ups well. Could be manipulated if a profile of tastes were established but too unpredictable and unreliable to attempt such a thing. Just as likely to take issue with a handler as she would be the target.
Terra - Content to be a solo operation, would be difficult to direct if only because of the base species' predisposition towards holding territory, and not suffering trespassers. Observations suggest food as a motivator, leaning into harder textures. Offering a lair, or other space for her to claim as her own may also sweeten the deal enough for subject to consider working with us directly without the need for subterfuge. The degree of stoicism makes this one a difficult read.
Whitney blinked a few times at the vial and devices and looked up at Terra with a confused expression. "Okay but what are those?"

The different papers would be crumpled as Terra read them, a scowl set on her face. All this speculation on each of what made them work in one way or another. Once she finished with her own report, the girl would ball up the pages together before shoving them back into the pack she owned.
"Right, like they could ever offer me enough to work for them," she scoffs to herself while shaking her head to herself.
"I'm not really sure," Terra admits looking back to her spoils from the hideout. "I just knew the less I left them with the better." Picking up the 'observation deck' and turning it over in her hands a few times. "This stuff isn't what I'm good with. But it can't be good in their hands," she adds before trading it for the vials and syringe, glancing at the 'enhancement' labels attached to them.

"I suppose I could put in a word with Professor Elm, and I've heard Professor Oak was inbound on the next flight. With events as they've been in the area lately, he's eager to meet some of your ah... extended family. It is possible they, or one of their aids would be versed enough in what you have on hand to actually be of assistance." Whitney seemed a little self conscious, admitting that her field of expertise didn't envelop what Terra was showing her, but didn't make a deal out of it.

The mention of the professors and the aides meeting some of the other Changed, Terra remained silent. Hand gripping the vials tighter instinctively. A moment passing before letting out a slow breath and setting the vials down back into her bag.
"We'll... See about that," she states in a calm but flatter tone, caution hinting in her voice. Moving to set everything back into the bag and closing it. "Its alright, I don't know much about this either," she adds about the mysterious fluids.
"I'll talk to some of them about it. For now, just, keep me updated about the Professors," Terra tells Whitney.
Before shifting the topic away from the science-y things. "I also have a pokemon I caught from the base, so that I could get it out of there. I think that getting it taken care of should be done. They were in pretty rough shape." Nodding down to the pokeball that she had the pokemon in. Backpack slinging onto her shoulder once more. Before then adding "I can see what I can do with helping Shiv get the hang of things. Any idea where Thel is in the city?"

"Joy at the center would be best to see to a Pokemon in a bad way... thankfully the Pokeball will keep it stable for a long time after it faints. I appreciate you taking a minute with Shiv. I've kinda noticed the predators really need to feel a sense of power and control. If we can get a couple of'em to show the rest the way, maybe they'll start finding places that they are more comfortable instead of like... At that she scratched the back of her neck. "Listing. Just kinda not knowing where to go or what to do?"

"I see. That case then," Terra says weighing what her options were. "I'll take care of this one first. See where Stag and Shiv stand before I try to catch Thel. See where we stand then." She wasn't too sure on how to help with the listlessness right at that moment.
She returns the ball to her bag securely. After all, a promise was made to it that she would get it out of that awful living nightmare, and taken care of. "If anything else goes sideways, you can call me," she adds making sure that the gym leader had her number before heading off to the pokecenter. Hoping that with the time that had past that the center would be just slightly less chaotic.

Terra's trip to the Pokemon Center is uneventful, but once she's there, Joy is beside herself.
The nurse holds herself, looking over the monitor with a stricken expression as the ball is scanned for treatment. When she does at last turn towards Terra the initial expression is accusatory. She seems to catch on that the girl is just as concerned for the Pokemon as she is, even through the stoic veneer. "Come with me... quickly please." Pushing the gate open for Terra to follow, Joy scoops up the Pokeball from the divot it sat in. "Nurse... signage please... apologize for the delays." "Chansey!"
...
The OR for the Pokemon center was a sterile affair with counters of medication, and an entire wall of equipment for diagnosing and treating emergency cases. "If you are this Pokemon's trainer... you have been terrible to it... if you aren't." Joy managed in a wet sigh of an exhale. "Wherever you found it... you saved it from... oh Arceus..." A few steadying breaths, and she began to lay out instruments. "Stay calm Joy... can... you keep it calm? I'm going to have to... a... amputate... a small section of this poor thing's tail..."

There isn't any unnecessary dramatics from Terra when she entered the Pokecenter. After all the past day or so had already been plenty eventful, she didn't feel like making any scenes. Instead, it was to the desk and holding out the one pokeball to Joy. The nurse would see no shame in the girl's face while the condition of the pokemon was being shown from the screen, revealing the condition.
A nod and following behind the other at the request to follow, she took in the OR room. Granted that it was for doing good, there was still a hint of wary in her eyes. Once Joy started talking she waited for her to finish in the possible reprimanding. "They were on of the ones in the machines underground." She states before watching the tools that would be used in the upcoming procedure.
"I don't know about calm, but I can try to keep them still," she answers honestly. She didn't remember seeing much of a tail to begin with after they had broken open the machine. "What do I need to do?" she asks, having kept her thumbs hooked into her pockets considering the cleanliness.

"Wash and glove your hands, then try to restrain it without harming it. I'll give it a local painkiller to help, but it will still likely thrash. I wish we had more time." Joy moved to scrub up and glove, before returning to the reptile and waiting for Terra to establish a hold before taking up syringe and scalpel. "I'm so sorry little one... I need to do this for you to recover." Joy set about cutting away foul smelling tissues while the little reptile fought against Terra.

After following Joy's instruction, Terra looks over the Kecleon one more time. "At least this shouldn't be as bad as the first time," she tells the pokemon, with a slight uncomfortable grin in trying to put it at ease. Bedside manner clearly lacking despite her attempt at it. The place was less intense, way fewer bodies around, and there was the painkiller medicine this time. Though she was prepared to keep the pokemon still. Arms moving to wrap around the lizard and pressed it against herself firmly. The position that she has the Kecleon lets Joy have the access to the tail trauma. "Alright... Yeah. This sucks, I know," she commented in understanding about the fighting, feet placed steady to keep her form from faltering in the struggle. Athletics Check: 26

Terra's hold is firm, the Kecleon getting worked up as it feels the pressure of Joy's tool against its body. Remembering the horrors of the lab and its experiences there. It begins to struggle with increasing intensity.
Kecleon uses Work Up, it's Attack and Special Attack increase one stage. Kecleon uses Fake Out! It's type became Normal! Terra takes 38 Normal Physical damage before defenses.
Joy works faster, with Terra keeping the Pokemon as still as she can manage. She moves around the table, calling Chansey in from the counter to assist should the girl end up needing a pick-me-up. The patient certainly will after this.
Kecleon uses Work Up, it's Attack and Special Attack increase one stage. Kecleon uses Aerial Ace! It's type became Flying! Terra takes 86 Flying Physical damage before defenses. It's a Critical Hit!

The intensifying panic of the pokemon, Terra keeps her focus on controlling the situation. The first round of its striking out against her brings a small hiss through her teeth at the initial contact. It didn't really hurt too much, more of an annoyance if anything, absorbing the attack fairly well. "I know, it is awful," she tells the pokemon in a hushed but stern voice. "You can be scared, but this has to happen," Terra adds seriously. Tone hardening some. "I understand." She restrains herself from attacking the Kecleon in return despite it continuing to try harder to break from her. Shifting her grasp for better leverage with a hefty grunt. Seacake watches with a concerned frown, breaking from his usual cheery demeanor. However when seeing the Kecleon winding up for a second attack, he moves to use his large fins to brace Terra during the strike. Absorbing the damage from the flailing one, allowing Terra to keep her focus on the task at hand. "Fight all you want... But this will stop the pain." She growls out slowly. Reiterating that the patient will not easily escape from this. Seacake uses Wide Guard in response to Aerial Ace.
Terra uses Terrorize Combat Manuever. Rolls 24 intimidate vs. Kecleon's Focus or Intimidate. "If you win, the target loses all Temporary Hit Points and can only use At-Will Frequency Moves for one full round."

Chansey feeds the Kecleon the egg it carries, the Pokemon recovering strength but renewing its assault albeit without the growing sense of panic. Terra's maneuver seems to cow the next strike to something much more manageable, and afterwards it lies still. A soft whimper, as Joy finishes her work and bandages the treated areas. Disposes of what had to be removed.
Kecleon uses Shadow Sneak, it's type becomes Ghost! It claws at Terra futilely but can't seem to break her skin, spent.
The Pokemon turns its head and considers the missing limb with a great sense of renewed anguish, mouth down-turned and swiveling its attention between Joy and Terra questioningly now that things have settled.

Once the Kecleon finishes its last attempt of resisting, she keeps her stance until she feels the body slump against herself. Mindful of her strength, Terra slowly eases up her hold after checking that Joy had fully finished with the operation. Until only her hands were resting against the pokemon to allow it to stay steady without much effort.
The pokemon's swiveling gaze catches Terra staring some at them thoughtfully, with a hint of some sympathy in those red eyes. A heavy breath leaving her chest. "It should heal now. With time," she comments, more as a way to remind herself.
"It sucked ass. But now that pain shouldn't be as bad," Terra added before looking to Joy. "Thanks..." she tells the other nodding with a calm tone now that the fight was over.

The little reptile turned its head to consider the bandaged spots and realized it was no longer being attacked, if it was ever feeling attacked in the first place. Joy offered it a pokeblock and some water, which it ate with some nervousness. Joy took the time that it was eating to treat Terra's wounds in a similar fashion while Chansey returned to the front desk. The Kecleon climbed up one of Terra's arms and settled on her shoulder, blending in with her outfit and disappearing entirely with the exception of the weight there. It shivers slightly, but seems to take some comfort in her warmth.

The calm is a welcome afterwards. A curious gaze following the reptile's path as it climbs up her arm and to her shoulder. While having seen the color changing before in the Underground, it was still surprising. Staring at the place where she could feel the weight of the pokemon. Unable to see it, but knowing they were there. That was okay with her, allowing the Kecleon to rest and warm up on her. It went through such a traumatic event, it deserved a break.
A slow breath leaves her before looking to Joy and thanking her with a nod. A moment to return Seacake to his pokeball. "Is there anything that I should do or know for this one in the future?" she asks to be sure that of any follow up care she may need to do for the pokemon going forward.

"Kecleon can be very skittish when they are injured or handicapped. Just be sure to keep the area clean until it fully heals, and be patient with him. If you have Kecleon out to exercise, do it in places with heavy foliage and be understanding if it blends in like this and doesn't respond to your commands. More than its physical needs, it will struggle with its emotional ones."
Joy's tone was somber as she explained. "These are solitary creatures that don't form lasting bonds and often take pride in the self, or are solitary for their own safety. To be injured in such a way can be very damaging. Building his confidence would be very worthwhile though."

Terra takes the Nurse's words into consideration as she glances back to the concealed weight on her shoulder. "That... I can deal with," she states. A slight hint of understanding in the tone. A hurdle that they will have to work at getting through. "Thank you, again." Terra tells Joy before excusing herself. There was probably still more pokemon that needed her attention.
Once the trainer and pokemon were out of the building she would stop in a secluded alleyway. "Do you want to ride around on me or prefer your ball for the time being?" she offered the invisible Kecleon, holding the ball up so that it could choose which felt more comfortable. Adding afterwards. "We can talk about if you want to stay with me when we have more privacy and time."
There was still checking in with Shiv and Stag once again, see how Shiv was learning from the other. See if she can help figure out what they both want to do, considering they didn't have their original hive to call their own anymore. After that, hunting down Thel, before either one of them get swept up into any new big event. How long had it been? Longer than she had last seen Muku. Which was, how long now?
