Stag nods her agreement and turns to match stride back towards the only proper shelter on the mesa. There was a hint of embarrassment in the request, but no shyness or shame. As though it were the most natural thing in the world to ask but she wasn't used to asking.
Leaving the hive behind was, and will be, the hardest thing to do in her journey. She could only look to the fiercely independent and solitary Terra for guidance and some comfort in these trying times.
Mewtwo had returned in the time they had been out exploring, and greeted the pair as they entered with a sense of brooding and casual disinterest. It nods to itself as though carrying on a conversation and simply says "Goodnight"
Looking over the alcove style wall-cots, the large girl settled into a seated position on the floor beside one. "Know you aren't really into being around people. Thanks."

There was some quiet between them on the way back. The changes were new to the pair of them, there was some understanding from her side. Which is why she hadn't denied the request.
A small nod returned to the being at the word, before following Stag to the chamber where she had woken up earlier. Stag's words had Terra step over and take a sliding seat down near her, knees staying bent up in the air, feet pulled against her. Enough space between them to set her hand down on the cool foundation.
"It's... still uncomfortable some," Terra comments watching the wall across from them. "But, I wouldn't say its bad," she adds. "That make sense?"

"Yeah. Not everything you ever wanted, but good enough to get by with." Stag offered a weak smile and climbed under the lower of the two cots, used to burrowing or hiding amongst the roots of trees to take her rest. She swiped what passed for a pillow from the bed itself and balled it up under her head. "Probably for the best in the end. Can't imagine not really thinking. Really knowing. Not seeing where I came from for how frustrating and shallow it can be. Not... being able to see the horizon, or the strengths I can reach." Stag nodded to herself.
"Night Terra."

Not exactly she was meaning in that moment, but Stag was not wrong about what she stated either. The comments had been about the closeness. Terra let Stag get comfortable first, waiting for her to lay under the cot bottom. The shorter would climb onto the edge of the bottom one, balanced on her toes to reach for a pillow as well. Successful in her stretch she would ease back onto the floor, placing the headrest near the other and settle down.
Terra would face Stag and nod at her words before replying. "See you in the morning."
Allowing the two of them to slip into sleep so that they would be recharged for their journey tomorrow.

The next morning, Mewtwo opened its eyes to the pair entering the main chamber where it had been in an idle trance since the night before. Considering both girls, he nodded slowly. "A short, but meaningful visit. A brief end to a long journey. I can send you where you wish to go, provided I've been there. It will save you several days, and no small measure of peril. It would be a pleasure, for guests like you I've never had before."

The night's sleep helped Terra feel better physically after the events of yesterday. With the refresh, she gave a more confident nod to Mewtwo in return.
"We really needed that, thanks," she tells him honestly. At the offer to help reduce their travel time, Terra thought about it.
Turning to Stag before speaking "We should probably... go back to Goldenrod. Find the others, tell them about here. Right?" she asks, Stag would want to see her group again certainly. Since they had left while the others were sleeping. "And see how things are being handled," she adds. The city was still in bad shape with no doubt, as well as she wanted to see if they could check on the others that they had helped.

Mewtwo closed its eyes and held a three fingered paw towards Terra, wreathed in a blue light. She felt a slight mental pressure. "Ah... the city to the southwest. Goldenrod. Also a flower. Funny things, the way humans choose to name their nests. Go then, be well... be safe. We will speak again soon."
There was the sudden sensation of being squeezed, and stretched, a flare of light... and Terra was standing beside Stag at the northern entrance to the city. "That was... really sick, and we're here! I want to learn how to do that." Stag guffaws. "Shit though... was this place this bad when we left? Seems a lot more... damaged."

The mental pressure had Terra's brows furrow a little at the new experience. Not particularly enjoying it, though she did manage to bear it. "Until the next time then, I look forward to it," Terra tells it with a nod. They were an odd but interesting Pokemon. Maybe there will be time to get to know them better.
The trainer felt a slight sickening feeling in her stomach at the sensations, however she recovered quickly after a little shake of her head. "That was certainly, something," she admits. Then there was the sight of Goldenrod in front of them. Staring at the condition of the city. After everything, there hadn't really been time to actually process all that had happened. The sinkhole, the strange pokemon that they fought. On top of who else knows that they hadn't seen themselves. "Damn..." she muttered in quiet surprise. "I don't know."
"I guess we should check at the hotel, see if you're folks are still there," she tells Stag looking to her then looking back at the city to take in how bad it was.

Stag grunted her affirmation, and the duo made for the apartments on the south end of town which was its own kind of chaos. On the lawn, a whitecoat was trying to coax a balled up boy out of a hole just deep enough for him to fit in comfortably, rocks and soil strewn about the otherwise grassy plain. Another was attempting to get a trio in dark clothes to come down off the roof from the fire escape. A third, this one in phenomenal shape for someone that read books for a living, hauled a heavier girl with small piggy eyes and a too-wide smile from the water. He sighed to himself as she wailed pitiably about 'drying out', and 'crushing herself under her own weight'
Making for reception, it was a little better. A little.
The clerk was a young man in his 20s, a pink haired girl sprawled happily across his lap with a bright smile, ears upswept into cat-like points. It was clear from his expression he neither asked for this, nor had any means of dealing with it. "Oh, I'm uh... afraid we're booked solid?"
"Actually, we're with them. Is Priss or Shiv around?" The clerk noted Stag's hair, and bracers. "Oh, yeah the bug room is 8-B, second floor... you... are really well adjusted."
"I'm not a solo act, it works out." Stag chuckled and gave him a rough slap on his shoulder, which elicited a yawn from the girl in his lap who he is trying very, very hard to somehow fold space to escape from.

The scene going on before them, Terra recognized the behavior of newly, or still acclimating, changed with no hesitation. Remembering some of the others that were back in New Bark Town with the professor, Gold, and others. A small varied menagerie of kinds it looked like out here. Expression staying fairly straight, though there was a small amount of amusement in seeing how the humans were handling themselves with the others.
"It just, varies depending on the individual." Terra tells him, shifting her gaze down to the girl that had the clerk trapped with a slightly raised eyebrow at how comfortable she seemed to be. A calm comment as she looks up to him. "Some can adjust quickly, and some others never do." Wondering if he was going to ask someone for assistance, or suffer his forced upon him fate before the two of them would head up towards the stated room.

Upstairs at room 2-B, Priss answers the door, the temperature in the room significantly lower then the outside. The AC is running full blast, and she seems comfortable wearing little more than a tube top and shorts, white hair immaculately quaffed, bright blue eyes distant. They focus on Stag. "Oh, it's you. Shiv said you'd be back, she wasn't real happy."
"When is she ever? Anyway... the Hive sent me on an errand... and we've probably got a new place." Stag seemed to consider going inside, then thought better of it. That's hella cold.
"...Yeah? You.. uh... you aren't exactly known for thinking things through, but Shiv is off getting out of her comfort zone too. Trying to make nice with the Gym Leader so we can have a permanent nest. Been a lot of bouncing around the city up till now. Not fun." She sniffs.

There is a fair distance between Terra and the door once she processes the drop in temperature. Too chilly for her with her own outfit!
Choosing to listen to the two converse instead of butting in at the moment. "Ah, right. It's... Whitney," Terra comments with a nod. "We could catch up to them, pretty easily, probably," she adds looking between the two. "Are you looking to stay around the cities? Or looking for something more out of the way?" she adds to Priss afterwards.
She wasn't too sure exactly how the rest of Stag's group felt about staying near human civilization. When they caught up with Whitney she could ask about the others that she had been with during the breakout. She hadn't seen most of them since they first exited the base.

"The fashion is nice, and I get a lot of attention from would-be suitors, but Goldenrod is still too... plain, it's almost rustic." Priss cupped her cheek and trailed a thumb along the fluffy scarf her face is half hidden in. "I need something bigger and brighter... I've heard wonderful things about this 'Unova' place." Priss carries on and on about cities and fashion and a great many things that Terra has either never heard of nor has any care for. Eventually Stag pulls the door closed to an insulted huff from the other side.
"Well that was horrible. Guess we should go find Whitney and Shiv... since she's still the boss of our little group."

So many words, boy, this one talked a lot more than she had originally thought. Fashion. Bigger? Brighter? Why would one want that?! Most of them didn't mean much to herself though. A small thankful expression coming to her face after the door had closed. Stepping away from the door of the room, she let out a soft sigh.
"My guess to start at would probably be... the gym," Terra states after a minute or two in thought. That is where one would usually start, right? She would walk besides Stag, this trip would let them see more of the condition of the area as well. "Its definitely a big difference seeing this in the light," she comments while taking in the scene about them.

"It seems really long ago now, doesn't it?" Stag commented as the duo made their way through the city that bore its scars with a sense of quiet indignity. Reaching the gym, they find Shiv and Whitney just outside, the latter flipping through a ring of metal pieces, and the former looking distantly thoughtful.
At least until she spots stag. "You!" One of the knives was up, and jabbed aggressively at the large woman beside Terra. "Where have you been?! You didn't leave any markers, a note, or a message!" Her breathing quick and uneven, the knife wielding girl seemed a mix of flustered, upset, and relieved.
"Went back to the Hive, to see if there's still a home for us there." Stag answered in a somber tone, eyes averted, but not so much as a flinch.
"....And?" Shiv asked hesitantly, a lot of the tension in her arms and shoulders dissolving.
"They wanted me to find, or take them, new nesting grounds. They blame us for the raids on the Colony. I did, but haven't reported it yet. Don't think we belong there anymore Shiv." Stag held up Pierce's ball. "This big, important task, and they sent a grub with me."
Shiv cocked her head, expression sharp. "That's an insult. And Dangerous. You caught one..." They shared a look of concern and studied the ball. "Do you feel any different?"
"No, just... tired. Terra has been keeping me company, and safe."
"Good. Good." Shiv raised a knife, and Stag struck her bracer against it, there was the scrape of metal on metal, and the Scyther seemed pleased.
"... Shiv was actually just asking me if I could teach her how to capture a Pokemon. Maybe that's better left to her friends, but... it's a lot to learn. How to be a person, I mean. How to protect yourself with a companion when you can't on your own anymore."

It was hard to wrap her mind to how much work would have to go into fixing the wreckage of the city, however as they came upon their target of the search, she had a curiosity in her eye at the metal in Whitney's hands.
The outburst from Shiv slightly surprised Terra, eyebrows raising with the gaze shifting to her, not interfering for the time being since it was between the other two. And there was their group dynamics, so she stayed to the side for now. Watching how the two's conversation went. Once her name was mentioned she would nod about the statement. "It's certainly been, a couple of days," she adds with a bit of sympathy to Stag's tired.
Attention moving to Whitney about the mention of learning to catch pokemon, there was a little bit of an itch in the back of her mind. Not annoyance, the feeling was hard to describe. Maybe humor? In that she was being pulled into now helping others, in teaching them some. "I think that Shiv and Stag aren't quite as unable as most," Terra comments before she pauses, then continues. "But not wrong. It's not as easy as it was before now."

"I can look after Shiv." Stag tells Whitney, to the gym leader's relief. "Going to catch up a bit, and see if I can teach the old girl some new tricks." Stag ribbed her leader. A flash of steel and the tip of one of Stag's hair peaks fell clean away. A second later, the two were locked in a grapple, Stag laughing despite the knives whipping about too near her. Shiv screaming, flustered but seemingly happy.
Whitney considered the two girls tumbling in the street and shook her head, but managed a smile. "It's nice to have friends you trust... Oh, Terra, Thel is here in town if you wanted to catch up. Not sure what else you'd like to get up to while you're here, but maybe I can help?"

With Stag and Shiv both taken care of for the moment, Terra did feel a small smirk come to her lips at the two of them going to grappling.
Her attention was able to turn to Whitney now, she felt her eyebrows raise at hearing Thel's name. How long had it been since she had seen him? That was a good question...
It took a few moments for Terra to reflect over what all she might need to take care of before trying to meet up with Thel. "I wouldn't mind an update about the group that came up with me. I mean asides from Stag," Terra states. The injured pokemon and humans that had escaped at the same time. Thomas, Maven, Ruin. She couldn't remember seeing everyone's faces that night. "And, I have some stuff I took from the Hideout," adding as she motions to the bag on her shoulders. "You or Officer Jenny might be interested."

Taking a moment to work the heel of her palm into a tired eye, Whitney gathered her thoughts for a moment before answering. "Well, a girl named Maven has become a sort of reluctant leader to a lot of them. She spends most of her days making rounds through the city to the different foster care homes and housing developments we've managed in the short term. The Evos that don't take well to city life live up in the national park in a tent camp they to call Aster. Maven herself settled at the Daycare south of the city." Whitney smiled to herself at that, seeming thoughtful.
"It's so funny seeing her style alongside her 'parents'. Anyway, she's kept company by a real big guy that has some connections to the old underground, Kursz, I think his name was, and a girl who is a whiz with medicine named Astrid. Some of the smaller groups have their own leaders, but those three are the ones connected to most if not all of the community. There's maybe... I want to say closing on a hundred and fifty total? It doesn't sound like a lot, but there aren't many places outside of the city that could house them all up front like this. Anything you want to share with me, I can have a look at though I might not get the importance?"

Listening intently as she learned about Maven and her role that had come about with the others now was impressive, but also seemed fitting in a sense, from the little time that they had spent together.
"That's quite a few of them..." Terra comments sounding a bit in awe at that. Not really something that she had put any thought into; how many more there could have been.
"There is a few things that I grabbed while down there, not really sure what they are exactly. But better to not leave them," Terra stated at the question of looking at things. She would motion to her bag. "Inside?" she asks then nodding to the gym behind her. She didn't trust showing the stuff she stole out in the open. Whitney would know a safer place, that made sense to her at least. Especially since they seemed very technical and medical.
