Episode 1: The Trial

"Actually, I'm just looking for the card for the way into the cave. You can look around while you wait. I'll get the waivers and applications out once it's found." He ducked back under the desk. "Now, I could have sworn that it was down here! Maybe I left it in a replica?"

John, you examined the mural and it was huge, the size of a movie screen! All over it, you find shapes resembling many different pokemon. Some had horns and antlers, others had feathers and wings, and some looked like they were pokemon-human hybrids. It was hard to tell what they really were, since the artwork carved into the rock was made of simple lines and geometric patterns.

    Walking into the lower Mississippi area wasn't seeing anything new for Jakar. The bay air was breezy, the the salt smell was new, but the coastal suckers? That was something that would never change. His first night into the city he was able to gather around two hundred Poke just from giving Taro fortunes, and some nice slight of hand tricks. Approaching the visitor center he realized he was first. Leaning across against the building he lights up a cigar and waits for the other newcomers. A small dark brown haired boy practically runs through the doors eager to start his adventure. Incredibly easy Jakar thought to himself. A cool calculating boy strides through the door next. He will be a little more difficult. A tinkerer comes on through, with a smirk he tips he hat to the man. A wild woman slinks on by, looking quite poor and unseemly he didn't have much thought on her. Waiting for about five minutes no one else seems to be coming by so he finally makes his way in, addresses the attendant.

    "Yes I'm looking for the professor. He's expecting me, Jakar. I'm here to assist in his studies. Might I say you're looking lovely as well."

Sequoia emerged from under the desk again, mimicking the voice of a southern Belle. "I do declare, Mr. Jakar! You know the right words to give a lady the vapors!" He stopped his act and laughed. "Did you really think I had the money to hire a woman to be my attendant? That aside, you're right, I was expecting you. I hope your long trip up the Great River and the Wasahgee was smooth? People tend to find snags along the way to the prairies."

Below the white crustacean was a plaque that said, "Cave Corphish (Extremely Rare)". Upon closer inspection, the creature was indeed a Corphish, but it didn't look like any others out in the wild. It was white as a sheet and had very long feelers on its head.

In the fossil exhibits, many of them were root fossils while some looked like long imposing needles, white porous branches, or very small fish. A plaque below that said, "Reef Bluff gets its name from the fossils that are found in the rock. This provides evidence that this area was underwater and was home to a massive coral reef."

With a crooked smile Jakar leans down to reply;

    "My dear sir forgive me, behind these sunglasses all but are shadows, and yours was especially curvaceous. But on to business matters, I believe we are all gathered here for an application proccess. I would certainly like engage in these err activities."

With his final word he motions to the other eager applicants, some who are studying various objects around the room. While others eagerly await his reply. 

Turning to face the boy, Jakar smiles. He extends a hand;

    "Hello there young chap. Charmed I'm sure, and its Jakar." (Jah-Car) he spins a french inspired Cajun accent onto. 

After a while John gets bored of the mural he is looking at and begins walking around taking cursory glaces at the various other exhibits.

The professor nods and says, "Ah yes, the trial. That's basically why I'm looking for my key card. In order for me to let everyone take the trial, I need to unlock the elevator that leads down into the cave."

Pulling out his clippers and another cigar, Jakar begins to head towards some murals to pass some time.

"I can smoke in here right?"

Isabella crinkles her nose as the newest, and apparently final, Applicant arrives and pulls out a cigar.

"Um...Professor? If he intends to light that indoors, do you mind horribly if I wait outside while you continue to search for your missing key card?"
