"Hmmmm..." If Fluffy didn't want it - not even a little nibble - then something was up. And she still didn't know what yet. But damn she was curious. Just to be safe she wrapped the odd thing in her spare jacket and stuffed it at the bottom of her bag. Hopefully nothing bad would happen. Then she decided go for a walk, thinking about her next move.

Sam the Mawile waves her tiny arms at the Fennekin, indicating that she would like to battle.
Sam's initiative is 6.

Fennekin bristles at the challenge and starts by creating a whirling vortex of fire at Sam's feet.

Ow! That wasn't very nice at all! Sam looked very unhappy about being on/generally engulfed by fire. Her first move was obviously to try and not be on fire anymore!

The Mawile wobbled a bit from the odd beam - but it was much less worrying then the fire from last turn. Speaking of which - AAAAAAAHHHH still on fire!?

While Jane is searching for Pokemon on Route 12, she spots the strangest thing out on the water. It looks like.. a blue/purple blur? She blinks and its gone though. Maybe it was her imagination?

"Huh?" Jane's gaze snapped to the water and she tried to spot whatever that was again. But she couldn't. Maybe if she squinted? Nope! Hmhmh. Well there was really one sensible thing to do! So she quickly stuffed her shorts into her backpack, her backpack into a plastic bag and released Tia into the water. "All right! Let's go and see what that was!" she called out and hopped onto her pokémon. Pointing towards the last known spot of the Unidentified Floating Object she said to Tia "Let's check in that direction first!"

After a few minutes on the water, Jane spots the blue-purple thing again. It's.. standing. On the water. What?! Floating above/on the water is one thing, but whatever that creature is, it is quite obviously standing on the water's surface as if it were solid ground. It raises its head and lets loose a strange cry before racing off again. Seems as though it was waiting for you to find it again? Strange.

"Oh oh oh! Look!" Jane bounces up and down on Tia's back in excitement and points at the water-walking *uh* probably a pokémon. Yeah. Anyhow! "Let's go over there!" And the pair started moving again, towards the latest spot.

This time it takes nearly an hour before Jane spots it again. This time it's actually up on a cliff?! How the heck did it get up there? There are no paths there. What, did it fly or something? It even stands still long enough to get a clear view of it before a gust of wind blows sea spray into Jane's face, causing her to instinctively shut her eyes to shield against it. When she opens them again, the strange water-walker is gone. Vanished into thin air.
Jane earns a Legendary Milestone for her observations (whether or not she can ID it).

"Woah ..." Jane sits wordlessly for a long moment, processing what she has actually managed to see. That wasn't just any random pokémon - she realized that much! And ... Ow! Her legs were getting really cold! With a shiver she directed Tia back towards land. Luckily she had her warm cape ready in her backpack - as soon as she was on dry land of course!

Of course, just because you and Tia were both awestruck by whatever that was, doesn't mean the random Wilds in the water were. There is a faint rustling coming from your bag, followed by a splash. Quickly turning around, you see that.. something has just stolen your bag and taken it underwater! AHHHH!

A thief! A flashback to Lavender's tale rushed trough her mind! But no, this didn't seem like the same thing. Nope. Anyhow! She had to act decisively! "Tiamat! Go after the bag!" She cried out and took a deep breath, holding tight to the Dragalge!

Tiamat the Dragalge immediately dives down after the bag-napper! Unfortunately, they're about the same speed in the water, and the Golduck seems to have a head start! As you begin to close the distance, rocks from the bottom of the river suddenly fly up at Tia's face, forcing her to slow down to avoid them, and giving the bag-thief time to escape again. It quickly heads for a nearby underwater cave, which is too small for a Dragalge to fit in.

She couldn't let that Psyduck reach the cave! She had to stop it! Correction - one of her pokémon had to stop it! And she knew just which one! Grabbing Ana's ball Jane let out the Serperior as quickly as possible and pointed to the Psyduck and the bag. "Blub-blub. Blub!!"
Now Ana didn't really speak aquatic. But she considered herself a pretty smart Serperior. And more importantly, she recognized Janes bag! The leaf snake swam gracefully trough the water and ...

As soon as the Golduck spies the grass snake coming at it, it pours on some extra speed, it, too, "sprints", moving 9 meters and slipping into the cave just before Ana could reach it and scrabbling up the rocks inside to avoid the Glare attack. It pops back out a short time later, alternating blasting pulses of water and psychic energy until it drives Ana off. It really wants your bag for some reason.

It really liked her bag. That much was obvious! But so did Jane! Shaking her fist at the water she tried to think of a new plan.
Could Golducks hold their breath indefinitely? Jane certainly couldn't ...

Well for now let's try the obvious! Tia and Jane slowly moved closer while Ana waited for the duck to pop up again.
And when it did - it was time for the Serperior's favourite combat tactic! Drain drain drain!
