Garbodor's defenses prove too much to get through this time, and in spite of the little hop, Companeon manages to step on a toxic spike anyway, becoming Slowed for 1 full round and Poisoned. Garbodor Disengages a bit closer to Draconeon and throws some toxic spikes around it. Scolipede eyes Companeon carefully as it accrues another Speed Boost.

Companeon, using the priority quick Attack again, dashes around Garbador to get a hit in on the Scolipede. Draconeon steps around the traps, and unleashes a Dragonbreath on the Scolipede. Inspired and Focused commands are issued this turn.

Garbodor gets in front of the pesky draconeon, blocking its attack. Scolipede hisses at Companeon as it suddenly vanishes from the field! Its replacement is a Venomoth that flies high above the battlefield. (6 meters up) Garbodor activates its Black Sludge as a free action on its next turn.
Gym Trainer Mary binds Debilitate and Iterative Evolution to Venomoth with Commander's Voice.

Gr... A flying foe, that meant the only one effective against it would be Dia. "Vee, directly underneath the Venomoth and Helping Hand!" Eve roughly estimated the distances, "Dia! Right behind Vee, on the other side of the Garbodor! Dragon Breath on the Venomoth!". Inspired and Brutal Orders.

The Venomoth blocks the attack with a shimmering barrier! Venomoth used Protect! Garbodor takes the opportunity to slide over and punch Companeon in its face for trying to hit Venomoth. Venomoth itself then flies further up, out of range of most attacks.
Gym Trainer Mary issues Brutal Orders and binds Reckless Advance to Garbodor.

Foiled again! "Fine!" Eve made a probably not sound tactical decision, "I'll play your game! Vee! Dia! Go round to the other side and focus your attacks on the Garbador! Take Down and Dual Chop!". Focused and Inspired orders backed up the attacks, and Vee, while Take Downing the Garbador, also attempted that free Trip Maneuver.

Vee the Companeon slams into Garbodor, toppling it over where it is set upon by Dia the Draconeon. Somehow, despite all of this, Garbodor is still conscious. Apparently it had a final trick up its sleeve that enabled it to stick around to stall a teeny bit longer. Venomoth creates a Substitute for itself.
Garbodor Paralysis: XcWZJdlh1d20
Garbodor gets back up (provokes AoOs), then fires a nasty glob of poison at the Draconeon. Mary unbinds Reckless Advance from Garbodor and issues Brutal Orders.

Vee's AoO: V57COYsE1d20+2 vs AC 4 1d8+19+1d10
Dia's AoO: 1d20+2 vs AC 4 1d8+36
Dia and Vee both struck when opportunity knocked. Then when Dia was threatened with an attack from the Garbador, Vee quickly covered for his teammate, the two switching places as a free action via the Bodyguard ability. A very disgusted, "Neoooooooo," was heard as the guck not only got all over Vee's fur but also poisoned the Eeveelution. Poison, yuck, the greatest bane of all tanks.
"Dia! Hit the Garbodor with a Dragon Tail!" Eve tried to finish off the tank before things got nasty again. Focusing and inspiring her Pokemon with her orders.
Dia's Dragon Tail: 1d20+2 vs AC 3 2d8+52 The target is Pushed 6 meters minus their Weight Class. The target is also Tripped on 15+.
The move would take Garbodor down, and Eve will call for a retreat, "Dia, away from the Venemoth. Vee, back off a bit, too, and use Wish."
Vee's Wish: At the end of the user's next turn, the target regains HP equal to half of its full HP. If the user targets itself and is replaced in battle, the replacement is healed by half of its own HP. 1d20+2·1d8+19·1d10·1d20+2·1d8+36·1d20+2·2d8+52

Garbodor is taken down, but Mary quickly replaces it with an Amoonguss. The small, mushroom Pokemon plops its roots down.
Amoonguss used Ingrain! It activates the Ability Root Down, gaining 1/16th of its HP as temporary HP.
Next, Mary says something entirely unexpected. "Venomoth, Mega Evolve!" Eve's first reaction is probably 'what's Mega Evolve?' and the second, when she recalls what Mega Evolution is, would likely be "oh crap, Venomoth can do that?!"
Venomoth is surrounded by bright, rainbow-colored lights and briefly encased in a strange sphere. When the sphere shatters, Venomoth has changed. It performs an odd "dance" in the air.
Venomoth used Quiver Dance! It gains +1 SATK/SDEF/Speed, which is then doubled to +2 each by its Simple Ability.

Well... what to do now. A Venemoth, mega evolved of all things, hovering high above and just buffing itself. There was nothing Eve could do to stop it so she just... played the same game? "Vee, Dia. Pull back and regroup. Vee, stay put for now. Dia, Dragon Dance," the same game but a lot more ineffective, <With quiver dance raising sdef along with everything else, I don't doubt that the Venemoth is just going to stay as far away as possible to force me to use special attacks.> Unless... Oh, this was going to be so stupid and the chances of being able to pull it off? Slim to none, especially since Eve wasn't sure how she was going to pull it off.

If it would deal Neutral damage, it gains a bonus to damage equal to your Type-Linked Skill Rank (8). If it would deal Resisted Damage, it is instead resisted one step less. This is calculated after applying any other effects that would modify effectiveness before the Accuracy Roll is made, like the Tinted Lens Ability.

Order of Actions- Amoongus: Clear Smog Vee: Bodyguard (free action). Vee takes 4 dmg. Last use of Bodyguard. Start of new turn
Venomoth: Silver Wind. Vee: Ranged Intercept to jump and take the incoming attack (full action interrupt). Vee loses 20 HP from poison. Vee takes 53 dmg. Do I need some sort of check for this because it'll need to be a timed jump? Eve: Issues orders now that she knows what she wants to do aside from just yelling out panicked orders in a huge rush. Focused and Inspired orders. Dia: Now that Venomoth is in range, Dia aims for the bug with Dragon Breath, hoping that it alone can break the Substitute. Then she runs the hell away. hE2h74Rs1d20+2 vs AC 2 2d8+49
Note: At the start of the next turn, Vee will use priority Helping Hand on Dia. That is, assuming Amoongus doesn't kill either of them or do something equally debilitating.1d20+2·2d8+49

Venomoth's Substitute does break, but it seems unfazed by this. Amoonguss throws a ball of sludgy goodness at Vee. Mary uses Commander's Voice to issue Brutal Orders to both Pokemon in the next round.
Sludge Bomb AC 2 vs jbDI8f_p1d20 Crit 19+. Poison 14+ Damage: 3d10+19
On hit: Debilitate activates, causing Vee to suffer a -2 penalty to Accuracy and Evasion for 1 full round. (That is, until the end of Amoonguss' next turn.)
Also on hit: Activate Corrosive Blight (Free Action) Effect: The target gains the Blight Condition for 1 full round. Blighted targets lose a Tick of HP upon being hit by any attack. If the attack is Poison-Typed, the Blight's duration is refreshed.
~~~New Round~~~ Vee uses Helping Hand on Dia (if Sludge Bomb doesn't score a KO). Venomoth ascends 3 meters and uses its final Quiver Dance to max out its SATK, SDEF, and Speed. (+4 SATK/SDEF, and +6 Speed)1d20·3d10+19
Vee does survive, by literally 1 HP, to use Helping Hand and retreat a ways away, but Eve changes her mind upon seeing Venemoth ascend. Amateur mistake planning with the assumption the Venemoth was actually going to stand in attack range. Retreating even further, Draconeon mimics the Venemoth's buff with one of his own, Dragon Dance. Inspired Training is the single order she uses this turn. Just as Dia was backed into a corner, Eve felt the same herself.
With Companeon nearly down, Amoonguss waddles along the ground to put it in range of its Sludge Bomb. It waits to see if its foes will converge on it.
Venomoth flies over to Draconeon and blasts it with an extremely powerful psychic attack.
<Train Dia's sky speed,> Eve made a very important mental note to herself as she shouts, "Vee! Please!". Understanding what the role of tank meant, Vee attempted to intercept the Stored Power attack.
Eve spends 1 AP to increase the roll by 1. Vee's Athletics: ONfxFagz4d6+3 must be 8 or over to successfully intercept.
The attack spelled Vee's demise, and to replace her, Eve was faced with a tough choice. She chose to trust the Letty would survive just long enough, and released the really rather vulnerable Flabebe, who floated in a square near Dia, 3m off the ground and boosted by both Agility and Focused Training. Eve would not have the chance to command her this round.
Orders issued for this round were Agility and Brutal orders. Dia was commanded to move all the way straight up and a little towards the center of the arena. Eve was trying to avoid an aerial fight, but this is what it had come to. Three meters away from the Venemoth, Dia delivered a Dragon Breath.
Ouch. Draconeon down before it could do anything. Corroseon out, and immediately, as it was now it's turn, the favor was returned with Haze.
Cera's Haze. Effect: The Combat Stages of the user and all Pokémon and Trainers in the encounter are set to their default state (usually 0).
There wasn't much else Eve could do no but return to her fallback. Issuing Focused and Brutal orders for Letty, Eve commanded a Light of Ruin strike on Venomoth. It wasn't as exciting as usual, mainly because Eve knew it would be resisted. Ah well. Then Letty floated behind Cera.
The end... appeared to be pretty damn nigh. Dia and Vee already had to suffer being knocked out. Eve wasn't going to be so cruel as to have her other two Pokemon go through the same just to treat everyone equally. "I cede this fight," she surrendered. Neither Letty nor Cera had the firepower to outpower Scolipede or Venomoth. <Lack of type diversity in movesets,> was a familiar problem to Eve and she saw how that was costing her this fight, along with several others in the past. There were, of course, other problems, like how to handle fliers and maybe Eve should have pulled in Cera earlier to clear out the stat boosts.
