Riley accepts! Now she's got a skitty and a ponyta! Cool!
Then, she goes online to the Move Tutor hiring site for her ranch. She marks the search for: a Mentor/Breeder with Move Tutor and Egg Tutor capacity. Let's see how much this costs, if it's even available.

- Moves that any Pokémon can learn cost 1000 P
- Moves that Pokémon under level 20 cannot learn cost 2000 P
- Moves that Pokémon under level 30 cannot learn cost 3000 P

"Huh." Riley thinks for a moment. "Okay, hmm. So from what I can tell: it costs 2,000 to hire a tutor for the ranch, then I pay him for each task I need him to do. That makes sense. But in order to do that, I need money!" Riley looks up from her 'dex and quickly throws herself backward with a yelp, as a flash of orange and black bounds past her carrying a policeman on its back. She didn't see the arcanine coming because she was too focused on her pokedex...better put that thing away. Taking a deep breath for clarity, Riley blinks and looks around for someone to rob- erm, someone to fight a fair battle with (and acquire winnings).

Riley heads straight from the pokecenter to the Celadon gym. Time to finish what she started with Atropa!
She walks up those now-familiar steps and opens the doors, half-expecting nudity.

Riley's half-expectations are disappointed (her hopes of seeing the Leader naked again are dashed?). Just seems like a perfectly ordinary room now. All the mystery is gone with the lights on (and this being her second trip).

She walks forward into the gym, searching for the rest of the trainers. Where is everybody? Again, it's kind of weird that the lights are on...but, nevermind. Riley is on a mission. Time to prove herself!

Based on the voices she remembers hearing her first trip inside the darkened Gym, there must be at least two others here aside from the Leader and Atropa, as their voices are different than the ones from the darkness making comments about her appearance. Then again, half the stuff in this Gym makes no sense at all. How do they know who is coming? Why are the lights off the first time, but on when she returns? Are there hidden cameras someplace? Do they scan trainers' 'Dex IDs as they approach the Gym to know who to mess with and whose already been put through the hazing? As Riley tries to push these thoughts out of her head, she approaches the back of the Gym, where there appear to be small office-like rooms. There are some very odd sounds coming from one of them.. two separate voices.. one of which sounds like it could be Leader Nalkeya?

There is a lot of... moaning.. and...other sounds. After a time, a voice cries out "YES!" followed by a scream. Then it goes mostly quiet with just soft giggling to break the silence.

Riley assumes this is just another attempt to embarrass her and otherwise make her uncomfortable. Well, she's not falling for it this time! And, on the small chance that they're actually doing...it...behind the door, Riley tries her best to steel herself for any ensuing awkwardness. Oh! A thought occurs to her: They'll probably invite me to join. An image of a couched Nalkeya flashes into mind, as Riley recalls rude offers floating so smugly from a bare chest...Absolutely not! Peeved, Riley bangs on the door before pushing it open, her cheeks already flushing.

Turns out, it's exactly what you thought. In your brief glimpse into the room before your vision is filled with green, you see Nalkeya lying on a bed next to a dark-skinned woman you've never seen before. Nalkeya waves at you before you are pushed out of the room by a Meganium with a bright red flower around its neck. |

Riley's face burns redder, and she sighs. She wishes she didn't have to see that. Somehow she feels violated. She tries her best to push the image from her mind and move on. This is Celadon! Here, uncomfortable things are bound to happen. Riley continues down through the office-like rooms, listening to find out where those other voices are coming from. As she walks, she gets a sinking feeling. Oh, no. What if every room is like this? Is this some sort of brothel?

Nope. There is only one other office room, and it seems more of a storage space than anything. Seems only the Gym Leader is getting busy in here. Even if the Gym Trainers were doing similar things, they seem to at least have the decency to take it elsewhere.

After extricating herself from underneath her new Gourgeist, Salena goes to the Pokémon Center. She retrieves her Pokédex and types up a quick message. Hey guys! Heading to the Gym. Also, sorry for the late reply, but I would be ok with splitting the Move Tutor 50/50. I've got about 2000 on hand right now, so I can cover at least that! I'll see you guys soon! <3
-LL She drops off Ms. Christie for a quick heal, then returns Mr. Kitty and Mr. Fuji to her team. Sir Blobula was going to have to stay behind for now. One day, it would be his day to shine, but today was probably not it. After putting on her witching costume, she marches towards the Gym with reckless abandon, excitedly wondering what nice tricks they'll have to show her! |

Salena arrives at the Celadon Gym, only to find it mysteriously darkened within, and only candles to provide a tiny amount of light. She hears voices call out from further within.
"How adorable, it's a little witch girl! Here to cast a spell on us, little girl?" This last part is accompanied by fits of giggling. Clearly they think you childish with that outfit on.
Riley, still present at the back of the Gym feels a hand go over her mouth briefly to prevent her calling out to the newcomer.
"Shhh." Leader Nalkeya whispers in her ear. "It's part of the Gym Challenge to see how people react to this. Everybody's gotta do it once." She then removes her hand from your mouth before you get any bright ideas about licking or biting it to make her let go. Of course, if Riley does try to call out anyway, that hand will quickly stifle her once more. What's really strange to her is the fact she didn't see anybody else in the main area when she entered. Where'd they come from so fa- ohhhh. They aren't actually there. Must be small vents or something that carry the sound as they watch on hidden cameras.

Darkness. That's the inside of gym? Her eyes strained to see anything more. That exercise in futility hurt, so she stopped. Her contacts were a bit of a nuisance like that.
"I'm here for a badge." She says confidently.
"Besides, everyone should know that witch's were mostly just alchemists and midwives. No one knew medicine and chemicals better back in the day." She wanted to say, but did not. It wasn't that well known, but not every which flew around on a broomstick flinging spells. Some might have been able to do that, but that was unfortunately out of Salena's skill set. She ah... Tried that once. It didn't work.
"If it helps to sweeten the deal, I have cookies too." She reaches down into her dress and pulls out a red, shiny package. Emblazoned in bright, effervescent colors was the Lavaridge Logo, shimmering like a soviet flag. She smirks vivaciously. While part of her did want to see what this basement looked like, a little bribe to get past it could go a long way...

After Nalkeya removes her hand, Riley checks her pokedex and reads Lavender's message. Her eyes wide, Riley exclaims "That's Lavender!" a bit too loud, so Nalkeya's hand is quickly replaced to silence Miss Ghost. But Riley just phases through Nalkeya's hand (which is probably a confusing experience for the gym leader) and whispers "Can I at least watch what's going on?"

Nalkeya allows Riley to observe as the offer of cookies is met with silence. As Salena takes a few more cautious steps forward, a trap door opens beneath her and drops her down a chute/slide that deposits her on her butt on a mat in a windowless, doorless room. A minute later, Nalkeya is munching on the cookies and the lights are back on.
"Hmm. These aren't bad."
What does Salena do?

The first thing Salena does is say ow, for being dropped in such a manner might not hurt a lot, but it certainly stings. Especially the loss of cookies.
Oh well.
At least the mat broke her fall! She gets up and rubs her hands together! So! This is the famous basement of terror! Her first instinct is to look up and examine where she had fallen from. It was kind of doubtful she'd get back up that way, but hey. Anything is worth a shot, right?
