Raven begins uncoiling a large rope from her bag and tying it off to a rock.
"Don't be so over-dramatic, Jane. Aside from that, what flying Pokemon do you think will fit down this tunnel?"
She points out that the sheer drop has a width of only about 5 meters. As she continues pulling out rope, it becomes obvious she came well-prepared for this sort of eventuality. Eventually, her rope touches the surface of the water below, with room to spare.

"Ngggh... I don't think I got enough upper body strength to manage that one. But... I think I got a good way of getting down." A small giggle erupts from Salena's mouth and she holds up a Pokéball. "Mr. Verne is the perfect Pokémon for this. Probably won't even have to touch the water with him around!"
She slips the Pokéball back onto her belt and continues. "But I do think we may want to take a rest first. And definitely get a bit of sleep."
Her shoulders shrug. "I... I kind of need I need some rest too. I'm still a bit achy from training with Nakelya."

Raven raises an eyebrow at Salena's comment. "Then this will be good training for you as well. Upper body strength is just as important to a ninja as it is to a martial artist. Your Mr. Verne can simply be there to catch you if you fall. Of course, that's just my suggestion as someone who grew up around two Gym Leaders with radically different styles. You're free to do as you wish."

"Eh, I'd agree with you, but I think there might be better times to practice sort of that thing." Salena says, scratching her head and staring down into the pit. "Training is more important than I realized, but I'm sure if this place would be the kind to take risks. We don't know what is down there, and I'd hate to accidentally mess up my bag with an accidental crash."

"I'd be more worried about being splattered over the rocks rather then my bag." Jane notes and continues to carefully peer over the edge. Hmm. Raven's rope seemed to be long enough to reach all the way down and plenty more to go. "Maybe we could tie it around us and lower one down at a time? Less worries about falling or upper body strength. Plus our pokémon could help out that way! Hmm come think of it, we could just find a nice rock to loop the rope around up here and we can get up the same way! Just like a flag."

"I'd ah... Rather worry about that one later once we've got all of our affairs in order." Salena says sheepishly. "Let's head back for now. Tomorrow, we finish this dungeon; once and for all!"

"It'll take longer to head back and return tomorrow than it would to just camp out here. Additionally, there might be just as many hostile Pokemon groups to fight through on the way back down if we leave. Therefore, I suggest that we set up camp here. There's only one entrance to this room without access to flight, and we can set up a watch if you're concerned about ambushes."

"Hrmm... I'm still a bit worried, since a few of my Pokémon are a bit injured. But..."
She thought about it bit more. If they stayed down here for a little while, she could always use Jane's First Aid Kit to help her more injured Pokémon recover a little bit. Most would be ok with time; though still a bit injured. She'd have to be careful how much battle they saw, but it did stand to reason that she didn't have to stop.
"Ok. You raise some good points, so I'm not really as afraid of sticking around. But, Jane you've also got a part in this, so what do you think? I'll probably go along with what you think is best."

"Hmm." Jane sat down to ponder their two options. It *would* be nice to sleep in a real bed, it always was, and be able to pick up some more balls and water. But on the other hand, this was their adventure. And leaving the cave might just be just as much work as going deeper. (Though they'd have to leave eventually ... Maybe the wild pokémon would let them trough if they had defeated the boss?) "All-right! We can probably set up camp here and rest until tomorrow. I'll get the First Aid Kit out so we can patch up our pokémon."

Jane sits down and begins to fuzz with Ana, Hind and Sam. A bit of bandage here and there would let the resilient pokémons feel so much better tomorrow!

Salena ends up burning the rest of her APs to make sure that Mr. Fuji and Mr. Simpson were both ready for future battles. Unfortunately, she passes out after that and doesn't have enough time to really help out Mr. Brown and Mr. Kitty. Morning would definitely end up presenting new challenges...

The night passes uneventfully, and in the morning, Raven drops the rope down the hole/cliff again. To assuage concerns over hostile Wilds that could be lurking in the water, Raven releases Maggie the Gyarados as "protection". Most wilds tend not to want to mess with a gyarados.

Of course, just because there is a gyarados in the water, doesn't mean that there aren't still hostiles around. Case in point, right as the group makes it onto dry land, a group of Bastiodon round the corner. Both parties spot each other at the same time, and the Bastiodon quickly arrange themselves in a combat formation.1d8·1d8

Salena doesn't hesitate to send out Mr. Fuji to face the threat. These big guys were no joke; they were going to have to be careful down here! Full force ahead!

Jane woke up quite rested, she had slept wrapped in Ana and her thick winter cape, so she hadn't suffered too much from sleeping in a cavern. Still though she could feel the sores from yesterday. But after a bit of pilfered food, suspiciously similar to the pokécenter complimentary breakfast, later she felt much better. And climbing down that rope certainly woke her up!

"Pew!" Jane sighs. Those dinosaurs were tough, Alice surely wasn't feeling too good after that. Hopefully they'd be able to fight more efficiently on their next encounter! Jane hopes and goes to collect her missed balls.

"Man. You're not wrong. Those guys were tough." Salena says with an exhausted smile. "But, I think when you're ready, we can move on. We've still got a lot of ground to cover down here!"
Saying thus, she led the group down the path to 6!

As the last of the Sableye falls and the gaggle of girls take a moment to tend to any pokemon injuries or the like, the scattered flashlight beams illuminate something else. At first glance, it seems like another Sableye (if a tad bigger). Looking closer, however, shows that while it does indeed resemble a Sableye, it is nearly twice as big and much more intimidating. The creature shrieks when it is fully illuminated and quickly scurries off down the path.

Mr. Brown finally collapses under the sheer weight of his blows and topples on over. Or, he almost does. Not quite. He is saved from the last big hit by the most beautiful ball of fluff Mr. Brown had ever seen! Oh! Such beauty, perhaps he could. Oh. Dizzy. So dizzy. Salena rushes over to see the smiling face of the pumpkin gently smile, then fall face flat into the dirt. She pets the poor thing quietly.
"Good job Mr. Brown. You just rest up and-"
She stops, thoughts interrupted by the strange and vaguely terrifying creature seen in the shadows of the room. That. That. THAT. "That's not normal!" Salena utters, taken aback by the strange creature. This was ah... Not normal. At all! This wasn't normal... Right?

Salena has absolutely no idea what that thing is. It doesn't register in the Pokedex, even. An undiscovered or mutated species, maybe?

"Not normal. Salena states definitively. She stands in silence for moment, letting herself catch her bearings. Just what was that?
