"Yeah sure of course!" Jane nodded and handed over the burn-balsam along with the rest of the First Aid Kit as soon as she was done with it. Of course she couldn't let her friends pokémon stay Burned if she could help it! Then she started digging trough her backpack for her Enriched Water again. Still with her head halfway down the bag she called out. "You want some too Raven? I bough a dozen so I still have plenty!"

"Thanks! I owe you one!" Lavender sets about healing her Pokémon happily. She smirks quietly. "Or, maybe I've already paid it forward a little bit. There might be a lil' surprise on the ranch in a week."
She giggles and turns to her Pokémon. Mr. Simpson seemed at ease enough. It took a lot to phase a ghost like him, though it did quietly worry him that all his friends were dead. Maybe that's why the Banettes were so upset? Oh well. Dust to dust, ashes to ashes. He takes a sip of water quietly as his new trainer washes over his wounds. At least he was a Dusclops instead of a Duskull. Evolving can be such a trying thing to accomplish in the wild.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kitty stared at her drink with abandon. Hiss! Water! I mean, it was good water, but still. She was tempted to knock over the little dish her trainer had set about for her in agitation, but whatevs. She hurt a lot anyways. At least she showed up that stupid rat. Her eyes peered about in the darkness. Oh yes, foolish rat creature. Gaze and weep, as you gaze upon purr-fection! One day, she will pounce upon the little creature, rip out it's throat, and- Oh. Ooooh, that feels good.
The swarmy cat purrs happily as Salena rubs a bit of balm behind the ol' ears. Yes. Ooh yes, this was good! Happy cat! Happy cat!
Healing!

Natalie continues to completely ignore the Purrloin, quietly grooming itself during the downtime. Raven keeps watch to ensure nothing tries to sneak up on the group during their break. When the others are ready to move again, she once again takes up the rear and follows quietly behind.

"Everyone feeling a bit better?" Jane asks but doesn't wait too long for an answer. Sure they could be in a bit better shape but there were no need to loiter around just yet! Packing her things she grins, returns her pokémon to their balls, and swings her flashlight towards the darkness. "Let's continue and see what there is deeper down!"

While walking Jane considered Lavenders words. A surprise? Hmm... Exciting! 1d8

"Well, alright! We certainly got in deep. It wouldn't do if we were to 'cave-in' now that we've gone this far." Salena adds with a cherubic smirk.
Meanwhile, Mr. Brown waves his fellows a nice goodbye. Goodbye friendly folks! Goodbye and good night!

"Oh come on. You know that's a good one!" Salena says chirpily. "Hey! I never asked. How did that battle with your sister go? You beat her, right?"

"Yes, though it was a close fight. It came down to a battle of Mega Pokemon. My Gyarados versus her Medicham. If Natalie hadn't slowed it down prior, things might have gone differently."

"Oh - right! I don't think I ever congratulated you either!" Jane starts, her mind a bit distracted by savouring the previous pun. "Congratulations!"
As they walked a bit further down the cave Jane picked up the subject again. She was a bit curious about Mega pokémon - if she were to beat the league having one would surely be beneficial. And even more importantly she would probably have to beat several! "So... How do mega-evolution really work? Well not really on a technical level - but practical. Everywhere I've read about it its always this vague mention of trust and so... But not much more then that."

"That's about all there is to it, really. Once you have the bond of trust with your Pokemon (which is mainly to prevent the power from overwhelming them), all you need is a Key Stone, a Mega Item, and an appropriate Mega Stone. Key Stones and Mega Items can be ordered by a Gym Leader, or you can send in a request yourself. After that's finished, allow up to a month for your request to be processed. Also keep in mind that, by default, the League only allows those with six badges or more to obtain Mega Items; though a Gym Leader may bypass this at their discretion."
Raven goes on to list all the Pokemon who are known to be able to Mega Evolve, including the Champion's Mega Milotic, though nobody else has found a Mega Stone for one, despite searching. It's thought that it may be a synthetic stone, but nobody can prove (or disprove) this theory.

"Six badges? That's a lot ..." Jane notes. So it was mostly a problem for future Jane. But she'd keep her eyes open just in case she ever came across some Mawilite for Sam. Not that she was really sure how to recognize that ... But probably also a problem just for future Jane!
But as she pondered her future the party wandered deeper into the tunnel and ...

"Pew." Except the opener, this battle hadn't been that hard. But still, her supplies were dwindling - after giving herself, Ana and Alice another bottle of water to sip on there was only three left. Hmm. She'd have to use the First Aid kit a bit more. And bring more potions! "Everyone good? Let's see if we can't finish exploring this level then! I'm a bit low on supplies - so I'm not sure if the last level would be too much or not. You?"

"I think it'd be better if we hit the third floor with a fresh face, but most of my Pokémon aren't too bad yet." Salena replies. Eeh. She hadn't brought nearly enough supplies for this endeavor though. Next time, she really had ought to stock up on some stuff like Jane did.

"Aye. Most the Pokémon I've been using are front liners. They can usually take, or avoid hits."

"Man... We really went a long ways here didn't we?" Replies Salena with a tired smirk. "Any more room lefts on this floor?"

"Yes. There is at least one more room, possibly two, left to see on this floor, based on the following facts: we passed a side path back at the entrance to this level, and we have yet to find the path leading down to the next level."
Raven recalls Bella and Natalie jumps back onto her shoulder. "If we don't want to be down here all night (it's already getting late), then we should continue on posthaste."

After the battle is over, Raven applies a Revive and a Hyper Potion to Maggie, restoring her to 90/94 (injured) health. The Gyarados is obviously not pleased with having been taken out before it got a chance to do anything, but is quickly put away before it gets too worked up and tries to maul the unconscious Houndour. Raven offers no comments or explanations, instead leading the party back to the tunnel they were just in and on to the final room.
In this next room, there are thankfully no more ambushes. Instead it appears to be a dead end. A thorough exploration of the room, however, reveals the way down. It is a sheer drop of more than 50 meters into water.

"A drop?" Jane carefully crawls closer so she can look over the edge and shine her light down. Uh-oh. Swallowing she starts "That's a drop! Almost looks like twenty stories down ... No way I'd climb that with just rope! We'll have to get harnesses and pitons and ... other climbing stuff. Maybe it'd be easier to just get that flying licence and fly down. No way we're getting down there without more supplies though. Sooo - tomorrow?"
