Shossk The Floappull emerges in a burst of light. She gives a ponderous look around itself before sitting down with a sullen expression on her face before she sits down where she was released.
Layl The Bleech emerges from another burst of light. It hops around making "Nya" noises for a short time before spinning in a circle three quick times. Then, as if it just noticed Layl for the first time, turns to Layl and waits expectedly. Bouncing up and down slightly as it waits.

From out of the tiny summoning sphere emerges a creature as tall as Shossk and nearly twice as large. For the moment the hippo didn't immediately start punch Shossk in the face like she did before.
Shossk looks at the Floappull. He looks back at Iris. Then he looks back to his Floappull.
"I havve captured you," Shossk says, stating the obvious. "If I tend to your nneeds, will you cooperate with us?"

The Floapull tilts her head a bit at that and then yawns, her mouth opening extremely wide. For a second she looks confused but it passes quickly and the wide blue head nods.

Iris, in the meantime, channels both the placid Floappul and the cute Bleechy, intending to work as a translator of sort.

Iris connects with both. She feels hunger and boredom emanating from the Floappull. The Bleech has rapid fire emotions coming off of it, almost like a string of firecrackers. Curiosity is the main bulk of it, flitting from subject to subject. "Who's that? What's that? Ooooh! What's that?" It doesn't seem to be able to concentrate on any one thing for very long.

"Hey there, can you calm down for a moment?" Layl wasn't ready for this much enthusiasm. She kneels down and holds out her hand to the little thing, unsure if it would bite or not. It certainly had a strong bite, so she would rather not get bit again. She gives it a wary smile, showing just how nervous she was about this whole situation.

While Shossk and Layl were busy acquainting themselves with their new creature allies, Yoko slumped to the ground, exhausted. She wasn't used to trekking for so long in such an inhospitable environment, especially while her clothes were so damp. She probably even had a rash forming between her legs from all the friction of walking, but she wasn't about to check to see if she did have one or not. Not while in the presence of company, anyway. With nothing better to do while she rested, Yoko turned her attention to the breathtaking view of the sky, and tried to make out any details of any of the flying creatures.

With the Floappull quickly showing herself to be cooperative, Shossk's attention shifts to Yoko. The human girl had dropped to the ground, and it only occurred to Shossk that maybe not all of these humans were not especially accustomed to long, hard treks through rough terrain, even if the group did avoid most of that by traveling along the river.
"Do you requirre rest?" He asks simply.

"Huh?" was Yoko's immediate response when Shossk started speaking to her, and she pulled her eyes away from the scenery to look at the lizardman. It took her a quick second to register that Shossk had asked her if she was alright to keep going, or if she needed to rest. "Oh, uh, no, I'm fine to keep going," she answered shortly, though it was quite obviously a lie. In truth, she definitely wanted to stop and take a break, and maybe even take a moment to dry their clothes and other belongings. But if the group wanted to continue forward, Yoko would put a smile on her face and bear it, no matter how uncomfortable she felt about it. If the conversation was over, Yoko would return her gaze back to the sky.

"Yes, please," was how Iris answered Shossk regardless of who the question was directed at, quite the opposite of Yoko's response in both honesty and result, "I'd really like it if we could dry our clothes." To demonstrate, she bundled a corner of her shirt and squeezed it tight. Water didn't exactly pour out of the tight hold, but Iris could still feel some water just squeezing out of the shirt. Despite being given fair warning, she hadn't expected the humid heat to be quite this bad. "I believe food is also in order," she tacked on almost as an afterthought, "The Floappull appears to be hungry." Aside from the helpful hint, she didn't try to intervene with the trainer-Pokemon bonding time. They could discuss further plans on obtaining a large enough flier while drying off and foraging for food.

There are rare occasions where someone is so terrible at lying that even Shossk, who is mostly only familiar with emotional responses as a concept, can tell that person isn't telling the truth. This was one of those times, as Yoko, soggy and tired as she was, was barely able to summon the energy for a response. Before Shossk could respond to Yoko, though, Iris cut in to say resting would be a good idea, actually. Also she tried to squeeze some of the water out of her clothes. Shossk had forgotten that humans dislike wet clothes. "You sshould not be dishonest. We are to cooperate as a team," Shossk advises Yoko nonetheless, in his same monotone that shows no animosity. "Ressting is acceptable, I do not believe any otther teams are aware of us. But we sshould avoid resting too long, or night will come. Many of the fflying creatures will return to their nestss in the cliff." Shossk tilts his head marginally, as a thought occurs to him. "Tthat may be preferable. They will not be able to escape iff we engage them in their dens."

Layl The Bleech looks at Layl, then her hand, then back at Layls face, then once more to her hand in quick succession. It then opens its mouth wide and begins gumming Layls hand.
Yoko The birds and reptilian fliers are too far out for Yoko to get any distinct ideas of how they look. She does get a better impression of the insects, they look like massive purple mosquitos.

Layl blinked once, her face morphing into one of horror for a moment before realizing there was no pain to accompany it. She continued to stare wide eyed at the little leech for a few moments before shaking herself to her senses. "Y-yeah... they do seem hungry, don't they?" She gave a sheepish grin, chuckling at the fact she had been horrified and nothing had even come of it.
"Thankfully, we have those sandwiches for us...but what about these guys? I don't even know what they eat." Layl tried to take her own hand back from the leech, mostly just by pulling her hand back up with her as she stood up.

As the Bleech is lifted from the ground she lets go. After Layl stands up it begins running around her in erratic circles.

What Shossk just said mildly terrified Iris. Attacking creatures in their dens was a scary thought. Iris immediately imagined what it would be like to be attacked... in her sleep... in her own home, or whatever she currently considered home. A shudder ran down her spine, she didn't want to give anyone that experience, at least not without good reason. Trying to dissuade Shossk, Iris encouraged maybe taking a bit of time with their plans, "Well, we could always rest on this island tonight and start looking for a flying type tomorrow morning. It would be best not to rush things, and with the sun as low as it is, I'd be grateful if we can find a place to camp ourselves and some means of food before dark falls."
Also, there was Layl's question. For that, she added on, "Oh, also... um... Give me a bit about the food. Let me ask them..." Iris could guess, but she figured that just asking the eaters would be the best method. She did as she said she would and asked the Bleechy and Floappul what their diet primarily consisted of.

Shossk stares at Iris, eyes slightly shifting in thought. "Iff we wait until tomorrow, the group below will brreak camp and move on. I mayy be able to track them, but that iss not certain. If we descend upon them tonight, we may sstrike while they are unaware of us."

Floappull immediately sends back images of trawling the bottoms of riverbeds for plant life. She then opens her mouth wide, as if instantly expecting some to be tossed in.
Bleech stops running around Layl with a little skidding halt that propels her off in a random direction before running back to Iris. She begins bouncing up and down again while sending Iris images of a heart pumping blood, a quiet "Thmp thmp" sound echoes in the back of her head.

Yoko shuddered a little when she made out the giant purple mosquitoes in the sky. She definitely didn't want to mess with those things, especially if they're anything like the mosquitoes she's more familiar with. When she couldn't make out any other details of any of the other creatures in the sky, Yoko returned her attention back to the conversation. Iris' suggestion that they all stopped to rest was a welcome relief to Yoko, glad to know that she wasn't the only one that wanted to take a break. Shossk's advice sent a pang of guilt through Yoko at having lied to her teammate, a cruel and ironic echo of her own advice that she had given to Layl earlier, and she hung her head in shame.
As the conversation shifted to discussing whether to camp for the night or continue pressing onward, Yoko figured it would be wise to share her own thoughts on the matter. "I'm going to agree with Iris on this one. It's going to be dark soon, and most of us are tired. Trying to climb down now is just asking to get us all killed, or worse..." There was a lengthy pause as Yoko let that thought sink in, and she used this time to gather the rest of her thoughts. "So let's stop here for the day. Find a place to camp, gather some firewood, all of that survival stuff. We can start again tomorrow morning," she then suggested, taking in the faces of her companions. She probably could have worded that better, but she didn't care about that right now. It had been an incredibly long and confusing day, and she was exhausted, both physically and mentally.

Layl looked everyone over as they started giving their own opinions on the matter. Everyone had a point, at least in their own way. She might as well giver her input on the situation while she waits for an answer from Iris. "Personally? I think we should eat, and then continue on our way, but honestly speaking, if half of us are unwilling or unprepared for traveling at night, we really shouldn't bother pushing the issue" Layl looked over to Shossk as she said this, since he was the only other one who really wanted to do nighttime travel other than herself. "Travelling at night is a sound idea, it's just something you should do if everyone is up for it, I'd maybe agree for us doing it if one more of us was willing"
Layl gave a shrug to the lizard man, she supposed both of them were used to traveling at night, while the other two definitely weren't. Layl suspected that her and the lizardman's experience were for completely different reasons.

Iris tries to not let the Bleech know that she was more than a little bit weirded out by the image of her preferred food. However, ultimately, both the Floapull and the Bleech had diets Iris expected. With the message received, Iris let the two of them know that she would tell their trainers what to feed them, making it clear that she would not be the one to try and compete with their trainers for their affection.
Now she just had to reveal her findings, especially since everyone had given their input on what to do next. Smiling a little bit at the little prank she was about to pull out, Iris motioned to Floappull and honestly answered, "Shossk, Floappull is a herbivore. She eats the plants at the bottom of riverbeds and, I suppose, lakes. I believe she expects some right now." Next, she turns and motions to Bleech. With equal honesty and holding on to that small little smile, Iris directly translates the Bleech's thoughts, "Layl, Bleech likes to eat hearts." Then she waits for the reaction. It had been long enough, right? A small joke right now wouldn't hurt, right?
