Chapter 1 - A Temple in the Sky

Shossk tilts his head fractionally, thinking. When he had captured his bird, this world had helpfully seen fit to impart in Shossk's mind knowledge of the creature's traits. "Iff I were to accept a flying dragon, then there would be two crreatures in my care that are severely weak to the icce element. Though the hippo creature may counter that, and I do nnot expect the ice element to be abundant here." He glances at Yoko. "Do you havve a preference for which you would care for? I would keep thiss prismavian otherwise."

"It's a phone," Iris manages to squeeze in an answer somewhere among all the talk, "or at least it looks like a phone... It sort of does the same thing, let's me communicate verbally with someone who is far away..." She didn't mention that this was the first time one of her divinations had been met in such a... physical manner. She didn't mention how strange and suspicious this was or that she wasn't even sure when the phone will disappear. Whatever the case, Iris set the receiver down and walked right on over to Layl. In fact, she almost skipped right over, that was how happy she was, and that happiness seeped into the way Iris suggested, "Right, Layl, after we're done with trading, the cave the Prismavian was caught in was full of shinies. It looked like it'd be a good place to look for shards. I remember you said you were interested in stones and synthesizing. I might not be able to help much, but if I lend you my dowsing rod, you might be able to collect a few for yourself... if you're interested that is." It was only at the very end that her voice lost a lot of the energy it had, which was when Iris realized that maybe she was getting overly excited? It was only one time she had talked to Layl about stones and such, and she didn't even know if right now she was just leading Layl on to disappointment. What if synthesizing was different than what Iris vaguely expected it to be?

Light, having remained out of her Pokeball, sat neatly behind Iris's legs. She kept an eye out for Nacht, wherever he happened to be.

"No," Shossk responds to Layl simply.

While Iris and Layl are discussing 'shards', Shossk has Calt do some more scouting, namely the other 3(?) dens amongst the second layer of nests, the ones below the 3 occupied dens of the top layer. Sneaking by the occupied dens would be preferable to trudging through the jungle to find more nests along the island's perimeter.

"I guess it's mine then," Yoko finally said after a moment of silence, walking over to Layl and accepting the offered sphere containing the dragon creature. "So... what do we do now?" she asked, unsure of what to do next.

"Fair point," Yoko agreed as she reciprocated Layl's handshake, and waited to see if anything would happen...

Layl raises an eyebrow at the music being played, but if it was just there to confirm their choices she supposed she could accept it. She shook her head and shrugged at Al's antics"Now that that's handled, Iris" She turns to said girl as she says her name. "Do you think there are any other Pokemon I would be interested in around here?"

Layl takes a moment, scratching her chin as she thinks it over. If what the type charts says is true, Psychic is weak to Dark, and the flying would make it an exceptionally good counter to...fighting, yeah that sound needed in her team. She snaps her fingers as she comes to a conclusion. "I wasn't really looking for one to carry me, but that one sounds like it will help me out the most right now, so yeah, but let's do this dowsing thing you mentioned" Layl walks over to the rope and starts checking it...provided it's there, otherwise she set's up her own rope, before climbing it down to the Prismavian's den.

Iris very, very carefully scaled the rope down into the Prismavian's den. Once she was safely back on solid ground, she'd pull out her dowsing rods and begin explaining to Layl how they were used with demonstrations and everything. Then, once that was all done and Layl expressed understanding, Iris would hand the rods over to Layl for her to give them a spin.

Layl takes the dowsing rod, not entirely sure what she was doing. Yeah she pretended she did, but mostly because Iris just seemed to be pointing at things and waiting for it to shake slightly? She shrugged and just pointed it around the area, walking around the former den as she did.
