"Sscrap metal," Shossk says aloud for Light and Iris' benefit, noticing the bird's hoard glinting in the moonlight. "Some of it mmay be of use to Yoko. Calt, you will aid me. Yyour eyes are more suited to the darkness."Calt gives a feathery salute, and the pair set to looting the bird's home. While Calt does as ordered in finding anything metallic, Shossk is a bit choosier in his search. He searches for pieces of metal that are feasibly portable and workable, but he also keeps an eye out for anything useful the prismavian may have gathered without realizing its function. This bird's trash may very well be a lizardman's treasure.

Layl walks over, grabbing the ball from the ground before turning back to Yoko with a smile on her face. "That was easy, I was expecting so much worse, maybe we should go and catch another one? If it's this easy we might as well stock up, the more fighters we have the better"She kept her voice low, not sure if any of the other cave dwellers could hear if she spoke too loud.

"Hmm...," Iris mused from above the caves. Through Light's eyes, she could see pieces that looked like they could be shards, and for a brief moment, Iris's eyes lit up with excitement. Shards! Not just something familiar, but something she was driven to gather and study. Iris was just about to try and clamber down the rope herself, since stealth was no longer needed, when that light in her eyes dulled. <That's right,> she remembered as she tapped into that void of knowledge once again, notes and information that were once there but were no longer, <It's all gone... and I haven't had any time to relearn any of it.>
However, that didn't mean there was nothing she could do about the shards. Along with remembering that she had lost that knowledge, Iris also recalled that Layl had shown an interest in shards when they talked about it. It really was too bad that she, Iris, had been unable to talk more. Anyways, that was that. If Layl was interested, then maybe she would know something? At the very least, if Iris was Layl, then she would definitely want to be informed of the possibility that there might be shards. Calt was busy so Iris couldn't ask him to deliver a message. Light couldn't climb the rope so it would just be cruel to rely on her. Iris crossed over to Yoko's and Layl's rope and... hesitated. The two large Pokemon were caught, but what if she was so noisy climbing down that she woke up the rest. Lying down on her belly and leaning as far below the edge as she could without experiencing vertigo, Iris whispered as loudly-quietly as she could, "PSSSST. Hey, Layl. The other cave looks like it may have shards in it, or at least a bunch of colorful knick knacks."

As Shossk and Calt search through the debris, they find a hefty pile of useful scrap metal. Along with the metal, there are a few objects that seem intact that may be useful. A sphere similar to the summoning spheres except it has multiple grates covering its surface, it is shiny, sparkling in orange, pink and blue. There is a bright blue gem that glittered in the moonlight, looking into its facets you feel as if you are looking into a deep and clear pool. Lastly, there is another of those healing bottles that has been buffed until it has a near mirror finish, Shossk can see the outline of himself holding the bottle in it. $1283 in metal scrap
Pester Ball (Confusion)
Water Type Gem
Potion The first contains a pair of medium-sized birds that have long beaks and red, yellow and black markings. Name: Toucusky Level: 14 Type: Flying/Dark Nature: Naive
Abilities: Rivalry
Toucusky use their large beaks to defend their territory and attract mates. They will often be seen preening, trying to outdo others with the luster. The third contains a medium-sized bird and two small sized chicks that all have red, blue and white markings. Name: Jayance Level: 17 Type: Flying/Fairy Nature: Lax
Abilities: Gentle Vibe
Easygoing and gentle, Jayance are known to help other injured creatures. When roused they can put up a surprisingly strong fight.
The fifth contains a softly buzzing hive of some sort. Unfortunately, Calt never saw a specimen of this species so you cannot identify it.

Yoko looks a little uneasy at the prospect of going for more. "I don't know," she replied, and she turned to face where the dragon creature was resting mere seconds ago. "Call me crazy, but this feels staged to me, like it was meant to happen." She then turns back to face Layl, concern crossing her face. "I think AL made it easier to catch on purpose, since we needed a flying mount to progress further. I'm not saying we shouldn't go for more, but now that we have one, I don't think he'll make it so easy for the others."

Layl eyed Yoko for a moment, letting the idea roll around in her head. The truth of the matter is, neither her or Yoko have experience with this at all, so they don't know how easy this is supposed to be. Layl doesn't even know if these balls have a high failure rate. "I don't know, let's ask Iris, she can tell us how likely it actually was" She nodded to herself as she walked up to the rope, gripping itt before her ears perked up at hearing a faint murmur in the distance. It sounded like Iris. "I'm going to go on up, I think Iris is trying to whisper to us...maybe? You can search the cave if you want, I'll shake the rope if we need you." Regardless of the answer, she started climbing back up the rope..

"Okay," Yoko replied in acknowledgement, and then turned to investigate the cave for anything useful. Before she does, however, she swings her backpack around to be in front of her and digs through it until she finds the familiar shape of her flashlight and pulls it out. She hadn't tested to see if it still works even after being submerged in the lake water, but she had left it out to dry earlier, so hopefully it would still work. With those hopes in mind, she switches her flashlight on.

The flashlight clicks on, illuminating the rocky crags within. As Yoko begins searching she sees that the walls and floors are mostly rough and bare. Eventually, the search is rewarded, a strange smooth rock cylinder can be seen leaning up against the back wall of the nest. It's covered in angular carvings depicting different creatures locked in combat, seemingly randomly along the edge rectangular shapes jut forth. The two ends both are capped with an angular carving of some sort of feline creature.

Layl finally makes it to the top, climbing back on top of the ledge. She turned to look around the area to see if Iris was still around and wanting to talk.

Upon spotting the rock cylinder, Yoko approaches it to get a closer look. She takes a moment to admire the designs carved into the cylinder, before then tentatively reaching out and picking up the artifact. Assuming nothing bad happens, Yoko will look over the artifact one more time before putting it away in her backpack, and then make her way back up to join Layl and Iris at the top of the cliff.

The piece is about a foot long, as Yoko picks it up to examine it she notices the rectangular protrusions move in and out of their slots, stopping at certain intervals. Despite this, they are unable to be slid out of the slots they are in. When examined in more detail Yoko sees that the carvings depict the cat-like creatures locked in battle with some sort of insect, possibly a bee or wasp as they are depicted with stingers.

With the den sufficiently looted of valuables and otherwise, Shossk beckons Calt to ascend back to the top of the island with him. He'll make two trips to bring Light up, if need be, after the addition of all the bits of metal scrap to his pack.
Shossk returns not long after Yoko and Layl make it back up. "I asssume you were successful? As was I. The creature'ss den also held some small treasure - ssome workable metals, medicine, and two objects whose nnature I am uncertain of." Shossk drops his pack to the ground with a metallic rattle, then retrieves the multi-colored summoning stone(?) and the watery gemstone.
"Are we to conntinue our plan? We have captured our mounts. We nneed only gain their cooperation before we can descend."

Layl looked at the weird items he had, not entirely sure what they were. The gem reminded her of a Water Gem though, but...was it used for the same purpose? She would let Iris handle that, she seems to understand that way more than the rest of them do. She gave her attention back to Shossk. "I think we could continue to catch more, the more members we have, the better, at least in my opinion, Yoko also said she felt like this was a set-up, and to be truthful, I believe the only way to prove that...is to trip it" Layl wouldn't admit it, but it was just like collecting pet metals back home. She had plenty, but she could only ever take one with her back home, she kind of wanted to catch as many as she could.

"A mount ffor each of us would be ideal," Shossk agrees stoically, "though none of the other denss we scouted held creatures large enough to rride. Calt may scout more dens for us. The cliff facce below the ones we have cleared is now available to us."
"Another optionn is to... 'quit while we are ahead'," Shossk says, quoting his old party leader, Torvin. "We havve been fortunate thus far to avoid conflict. We may nnot be so fortunate if we search out mmore creatures to capture, and a battle would delay us or drainn our resources, before we face the group below."
"Both options have their merit," Shossk states indecisively. He simply looks to the others for their input.

<Ah,> Iris was about to tell Layl about the possibility of shards within the caverns, but it appeared Shossk had already finished gathering anything that looked valuable. With the inclusion of the water gem, an item that he professed to not knowing what to do with, she could only assume it was thorough and included anything that looked marginally interesting. <Still,> Iris held some hope, <He didn't have a dowsing rod, did he?>.
While Calt and Layl discussed strategy, Iris listened in while she fell into the role of pokemon world tutorial that she had gotten accustomed to. "Well this is just a really shiny potion," she muttered, mostly to herself, as she picked up the reflective restorative, "And these two... don't suppose they would know it, and I don't want risk them finding out the hard way what the difference between a pester and pokeball are."
"Personally, I like the way Layl thinks. Trigger all the instances. We don't know what's going to be around the corner until we get to it," Iris rejoined the conversation, standing up with the pester ball in one hand and the water gem in the other, "Though, personally, I don't see much need in catching more Pokemon right now, but that's just me. Variety is always great, but I always worry that it's not quite fair to just catch a Pokemon only to never give it more than a fleeting fraction of your attention." That was her two cents given on the topic. Notably, Iris had not taken a side quite yet, or maybe, that was her side? She wanted to trip a trigger, if it was like what Layl said, but at the moment, she didn't feel like she needed to.
Regarding the items, Iris followed up her opinion with an item description of the two tools she held in her hand, "Oh, and it looks like this is a pester ball and this a water gem," each was raised slightly as they were named, "I'm... not actually sure what exactly this pester ball does, but I know they're nasty little buggers that can disorient or otherwise negatively affect the condition of anyone who's hit by one. As for the water gem, if held, it can be used up to give a one-time power-up to a Water-type attack. After that, the gem is gone. All in all, I think Bang should get the water gem, and the pester ball... Well..." In the universal show of indecision, Iris just shrugged. Anyone could use it, and she didn't know if anyone in the group was secretly a super awesome ball thrower.

Layl nodded in understanding, it was a bit different than the pets she was used too, they don't just exist when she's using them, they have lives and live on their own. So she should only go after ones that really interest her...which makes her regret Mr. Turtle a bit, but she couldn't just leave him alone, that would be too sad...
"I believe we should at least look for more choices, also Iris, in that case could you show me how to give this over to...well who is interested in a dragon?" Layl just hoped these things were trade-able, because Medals were not.

Shossk blinks at the mention of 'dragon'. When he had reviewed the elemental types of this realm in his head earlier, the Dragon-type did appear. Shossk's interest was only tangential, though, as it was Veska that was truly intrigued by dragons. "I hold nno interest, nor disinterest," Shossk states indecisively again. Meanwhile, Shossk had Calt scout out the two dens below the ones the trainers had cleared. The perfect little night-time scout does his work again, silently peeking into the two caves.

Whether this was going to use one of her divinations/auguries for the day, Iris did not know, but it would probably be worth it. She initially been confident that trading a Pokemon would be as simple as letting the Pokemon know and exchanging Pokeballs, or in this case just the latter since the Pokemon couldn't have known who had caught them. Layl's question, however, reminded Iris that as familiar as this world was, it was still all in the palm of a mysterious being. Carelessly trading a Pokemon and only realizing mid-fight that it would only take commands from the trainer who captured it unless some sort of special care was taken could easily get ugly. <AL,> Iris thought really hard, trying to focus and project her thoughts to the immaterial entity, <Do you have any special... requirements for trading Pokemon or otherwise giving or taking a Pokemon?>. The question... didn't go through the way Iris had intended it to. Instead of an answer, she was shocked out of her concentration by a buzzing, no a vibrating noise, about seven paces behind her. Whipping her head around to the disturbance she found herself looking at... a black rotary dial phone perched upon a rock. It "rang" but as if taking the current stealth-heavy conditions into consideration, the ringing was merely the buzzing Iris would have expected from a more modern cellphone placed on vibrate. After staring at the phone in confusion for a good half a minute, Iris tentatively walked up to it and picked up to receive the call.

Calt finds that the two dens below those that have been cleared out both contain more of those softly buzzing hives.
When Iris picks up the phone she hears a highly static-filled version of AL's voice emerging from it. "Alright, make sure you listen carefully now. I'm not going to repeat this. You know how each room is instanced to each of you? I've set the game up to work like that with your Pokemon. It knows which ones are yours and which ones are someone else's. So, you have to verbally say that you are trading then exchange your Pokeballs and finally you've got to do some sort of non-verbal contract. Shaking hands should work but it doesn't matter as long as you both know what it means. Now if you don't have any more questions, get on with the action."
(This does cost one of Iris's divinations for the day)

Setting down the phone, Iris turned back to the rest of the group and relayed, "Alright everyone. Listen up. So for trading, it's not just as simple as handing your Pokemon to someone else. It seems like we'll need to verbally say that we're trading and then exchange our Pokeballs. After that, we need to seal the deal with something nonverbal. Shaking hands should work... we can do a secret handshake if we really want, or any other gesture that we'd both consent to." For someone who's ability had just shown another, strange twist, Iris seemed quite calm. It wasn't like having a telephone pop out of nowhere for Al to talk through was the strangest thing to happen today.
