Three years had Yuan Silvanti found shelter under Keldeo Academy, a place he was free to be himself, away from all the repression from his family, but he would soon be free again, free to explore the world on his own, his true freedom. He had just one week of school to go and this last week was more of a "party time" anyway. All the teachers were done with their respective course and students were given some time to enjoy their final bit of school life before joining the society as part of the working force. Aside from all the partying and "I am going to miss you" banter, there was one last task for the students to do -- picking their starter, and Yuan found the starter bag hanging on his door as he arrived for the night. As no one was allowed to discuss about what's inside their respective file, the night was awfully quiet. After finding the perfect place to do so, Yuan opened the file and found a note and three files inside. Under each file are all sort of information about the Pokemon and also plenty of pictures.
Ho ho there, my favorite student. I am Miss Leigh, just saying in case you are the favorite of many professors. I mean, why not, right? You are obviously a very good man, a little reserved, sure, but girls your age obviously like cool guys. Well, not all of them, but some do. And you are hot too, oh, I meant your curry actually. Oh how I like remembering when I was young like you, I used to lick cool guy's face like I lick cupcakes, yummy. See? That's what I meant when I say an true artist always express oneself through any mean. Experience everything you can, don't shy away from anything, you can't ever create the best food without tasting the "sweet", "sour", "bitter" and "spicy" of life. It's a saying in the Qianhe Region, which is very true...but I am getting way out of topic so, let's start again. Wow I can't believe I just write all of this dowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww~~~~~~~~~(A long straight line after that)
Hey sorry for the paragraph above, I drink way too much yesterday and I am running out of paper to write so...just ignore whatever is up there. I am very happy to see you grow in the past three years and anxious to see what you can do in the whole wide world. You are clearly a very talented man, both in culinary skill, especially your expertise in curry-based dishes, and the high score of many Pokemon classes, aside from the average score on battle classes. I hope you are happy with the choices I presented to you, I have picked them mostly for their relation to the culinary art but if you want something different, put the red tag on the file and hang it by your door and two choices will be given to you two days later.

Option 1
Cubchoo, M
Height: 1' 3"
Weight: 11.2lbs
[Pictures: All pictures are of him wandering around the school yard and playing with people. A lot of cuddling and "sticking" to people with his mucus.]
Full disclosure, this Cubchoo isn't a ranch-breed. It's found in one of our school trips down south into the colder portion of the region, down the icy mountains. It's almost spring at that time, Cubchoos are supposed to be winter napping with their Beartic Papa and Mama so it's a wonder why this one is out wondering in the winter. While the winter doesn't bother an Ice Pokemon like him, no matter how young and weak, the lack of food does. He was very thin when we found him exhausted by the side of the road so we took him in. The school figured it might be best to give him a trainer and a father figure so here he is.
One big reason I am giving it to you because he will need proper nutrition from this point on to grow. He did not get the proper nutrition at his baby stage so he is undergrowth. Even until today, he has been thin and did not eat much. We are worried that he might be aneroxic if we don't do this quick enough. We are probably sending him to the Pokemon Center if no one takes him but if you want him, it's yours. It will teach you a lot of valuable lessons as a trainer and a chef to know how to take care of a baby Pokemon, in practice.
As he is not in fighting shape until very recently, we are not sure what he can provide on that side. He does like playing with people and cuddling with them if possible. On the other hand, he doesn't seem to do that to other Pokemon for some reason, he prefers to keep a distance from them initially. He's kind of an enigma at this point but I am sure you can figured him out eventually. Just be extra gentle to start.
Oh, one last thing, don't let him get too close to whatever you are cooking. You are not going to like the taste if his mucus tips into whatever you are cooking, yucky.

Blitzle, F
Height: 2' 5"
Weight: 76lbs
[Pictures: Most of the pictures are of her training in her ranch. Only a few are of her playing with other Pokemons.]
Your next option is a Blitzle, arguably the safest pick among the three. If you prefer a worriless start to your career, then this Blitzle might just do the trick. Well-breed - a product of battle bloodlines from Unova - and well-grown by the rancher, this one is as ready to go as possible. Let's start with her size, she is much bigger than a regular Blitzle and packed with more horsepower than other Blitzle could ever wished for.
Ever since she is born, she has been put on a well-designed training regime and she has done very well with it. All of her physical stats are above average, from sprinting, lap time of going a circle around the ranch's raceway, jumping to how much eletricity she can generate in a second.
While all of these make her a perfect companion for a Cobalion trainer, her lack of personality might not be everyone's cup of tea. She is like a bio supersoldier in sci-fi movie. Her whole life has been training, training and training and she does not seem to know much about social and how to...communicate?! She has been very quiet in the week she has been with me and does not really care about other Pokemon either. Your first challenge is probably trying to get her to be more relaxed and warm up to you and your team. In situation like this, good food always help.

Decrease: Any 3 of Charm/Intuition/Guile/Command/Survival(Lack of personality; entirely ranch-bred, no wild experience and doesn't know how to take care of herself)
Traits
Super Soldier - +1 to moves DB, overland, both jumps and power

Option 3
Heatmor, M
Height: 1' 9"
Weight: 31.8lbs
For the last option, let's just see this is a present from me to one of my favorite students this year. This little Heatmor is actually given by one of our alumni as a power starter to one of our luckiest students and well, he is given to me, and from me to you.
Before we go further, I want to remind you that a baby Pokemon like this required extra caution. As he is just a few weeks old and a natural predator, he can be aggressive and might not see you as his rightful owner immediately. It takes me a few days to get him warm up and comfortable around me. Also, he is not properly trained by a professional rancher so it means you will have to handle him like he is a freshly captured wild Pokemon.
While you might not want to become a breeder, training a baby Pokemon like this from the ground up will only serve to improve your skill as a trainer. As Heatmor is an omnivore, you will have all the freedom in how you design his meal and is allowed to use whatever food you want to. If you actually did well on that part, you are rewarded with a powerful Pokemon from the beginning. Personally, I feel this is a very good deal.
In general, he is as well-behaved as a Pokemon of his stage can be: curious, hyperactive and can be naively crazy at times. You will really need to be careful with him around Bug or Steel Pokemon. He will not hesitate to shoot a wave of fire to them instinctively once he sees them. It might be in his genetic that he is hostile to anything that smells like a Durant. He sometimes does it to a building or car too but not all the time. His rancher says he is sensitive to the "smell of iron", a key component of steel, but unless you have a Heatmor's nose, I don't think you can distinguish that specific smell, and neither can other human being. It is very young so you don't have to worry about him melting anything but be sure to keep an eye on him as he grows. Vandalism by Pokemon is a serious crime, you really don't want anything like that on your record.
