The cold rain is coming down in sheets. It's a wonder you can see more than five feet ahead, let alone navigate the oddly twisting, disturbingly serpentine paths through the forests in the northern portion of Unova. The cold is uncomfortable, exacerbated by your soaked clothing, heavy with rainwater. The mud sucks greedily at your feet, threatening to steal your shoes- and perhaps suck you down into itself. Though no evidence of the "Hollow" Pokemon, as you have heard them called, has been seen thus far, you have encountered other travelers, and for safety's sake, you all have formed a small band, making your way southward. Thus far, you've not told each other why you're going south- out of respect for each other's privacy, or fear of drawing Hollows out of the dark forest, or perhaps a combination of both... Your fellow travelers are each other.

Jelena pauses a second to brush her wet hair out of her eyes and glaring up through the branches at the sky before she continues trudging through the sodden ground. Since we're traveling together why don't we introduce ourselves? I'll start I am Jelena of Tylondale" She says as she gives the rest of the group a small bow.

This was not the first time Captain Marshall Spring had trudged through the rain in unfamiliar and dangerous territory. Unova had more distinguished and harsher seasons than his own home region of Sinnoh, he really should've packed a heavier overcoat. He had often done without back when he was a younger soldier who had pushed his way into Unova, but he was not that young man any more, and he found the constant dampness and creeping cold to wear on him more than he used to. Or perhaps his memories of how unpleasant it had been had faded for lack of fondness for them. Marshall walked in grim silence, not really paying his companions any mind save to point the occasional landmark to make not of or potential mud trap to avoid.
All was quiet for now, but Marshall couldn't bring himself to relax. His short-spear was sheathed on his back but he kept his small shield out and ready on one arm. Ugh, why the rain. Canter wouldn't even want to come out with this downpour if Hollow pokemon really were to show up. He glanced back at his companions. They were all barely over half his age, he couldn't imagine what they were doing here other than perhaps searching for treasure and glory at their age.
He took a long time to answer Jelena's inquiry, stating simply, "Captain Marshall Spring. We might want to find shelter and wait out this rain. We're not making good time in this mud and we're risking sickness by staying cold and wet." not even turning to look at his fellow companions as he did so.

A shiver broke through Sarcourne's resolve as he took in a deep breath of the frigid air. The smell of mud crept into his nostrils as he marched alongside his traveling companions. The brown cloak he had worn across the previous region was completely soaked through and spattered with mud, much as the rest of him. Sarcourne's left hand moved to his hip where his Honedge, Savior, was sheathed and gave his companion a reassuring pat. The Honedge's vibrant azure sash was tightly wrapped about his master's waist. Sarcoune peaked leftwards towards the three others just as one of them piped up an introduction that was followed up with a curt reply.
Straightening his back and putting on a welcoming face he joined in with an elevated voice to hear over the rain,"You all can call me Sarcourne and I'll have to agree with you, Captain. I could go for a drink by a warm fire." As He said this, he gave everyone eye contact and a nod.
His suspicions of the middle-aged man being military were confirmed and set Sarcourne's nerves slightly on edge, but the first lass seemed friendly enough. Savior, however, rattled a little in it's sheath and Sarcourne gave the hilt a calming grip underneath the cloak. He whispered, "Easy buddy." He figured Honedge sensed his tension. Unsurprising since Savior was bestowed upon him when Sarcourne was just a squire.

Much like the other three of her moist companions, Lucia found herself uncomfortably cold and soggy. A shudder raced a rather cold droplet down the woman's back. While she had made a crude, makeshift rain poncho out of her personal tent, it didn't stop the stray bullets from soaking her to the bone, or the Kyogre blessed liquid from drawing up through her boots. "Lucia.
"Anyone of you remember a map where the closest piece of civilization may be?"

An explosion of thunder startles you all, lighting up the valley ahead. There, in the distance, you can see the form of a gigantic tower, standing tall and appearing like a cloaked giant of unfathomable size. The muddy path you follow leads directly towards it. A welcoming hamlet, it is not- but far better than spending the night out beneath the rain. Another blast of thunder assaults your ears, and when it fades, you hear the twisted gibbering of unnameable monsters echoing from the bloated forest behind you- or perhaps the normal cries of Pokemon, distorted by the rain and thunder, and your own apprehensive imagination. Marshall You know those screams. They're the tortured cries of Hollows.

"We're near Iccarus if I recall," Marshall answered Lucia, before glowering a bit at Sarcourne, "Don't call me Captain. Rank isn't-"He was cut off by the sudden crack of lightning and thunder, illuminating the sky behind the tower ahead of them. He didn't flinch at the cacophony of thunder, not until he heard the howls rise up behind them all. Marshall felt his heart rise in his throat and his entire body tensed. He instantly whipped out his spear, turning around to face the howls. "Those are Hallows," Marshall snarled as his grip tightened on the hilt of his spear, "Get ready to fight or run." He wasn't entirely sure whether his companions could fight or not, or how well, so what they would decide to do was a mystery. For himself, he was going to be ready to fight. He reached into his pouch and pulled out an apricorn ball, breaking it open to release a small white horse with a flaming mane and tail. The rain hit Canter's back and sizzled into steam, and the young horse gave a small displeased whinny. Marshall calmed her pacing. This was the worst weather for the fire type, and the moment a water type showed its face he'd recall her, but for now she was the only one of his two pokemon who had been trained for battle, Tidel was very young. Releasing and mounting Canter.

Sarcourne's insides jerked as he was scorned for his habit caused slip of the tongue. His mistake was quickly banished, however, by immense thunder and Marshall's battle preparations. The haunting cries through the rain resounded with dark memories.
"So that's what was upsetting you..." he whispered to Honedge. "Right! Savior, ready!" Honedge quickly unwrapped its sash and unsheathed itself with a flourish as Sarcourne threw his cloak open and behind him. He snatched Savior's hilt and smoothly transitioned into a low guard to keep Savior's edge and point a threat to the legs and torsos of most Pokemon. The ghostly steel let out a low hum as its rain soaked blade vibrated in anticipation.
As cold rivulets streamed down Sarcourne's arms and hood he called out to his companions, "Let's keep up a rear guard and move to that tower! We get inside and defend it!" He gritted his teeth at the limited options at his disposal considering his Growlithe, Scorch. Even Marshall was sacrificing power for maneuverability with his Ponyta. Another fire type would only be a liability, so it was him and Savior for now.

Hearing the howls behind the group already had Jalena on edge but when Marshall said that the howls coming from behind the group were coming from Hollow Pokemon she quickly pulled an Apricorn from the pouch on her belt and with a light toss released the Pokemon within it. "Let's get going then, Sedna you help protect us while we get to the tower"was all she said as she drew her dagger from her belt and her body gained a faint glow. Appearing in front of Jalena appeared her Popplio Sedna who sensing that her trainer was on edge quickly got ready for combat and whatever was making the howls that could be barely heard over the heavy rain. Releasing Sedna and bind 2 AP to use Enchanting Transformation.

As you hurry down into the valley, a flash of lightning reveals the path ahead is blocked by Pokemon, their red eyes and overly large fangs betraying their Hollow nature.

Hearing creatures behind her, Lucia found little cause for concern in what was in her near future. However those before the woman had so much more promise of potential pain. In response she bopped the ball on her hip that held Chunchunmaru within to fly into her awaiting palm. "Looks like we have no choice in the matter. Steel yourselves my companions."

The hollows begin creeping out onto the road behind you, their glowing red eyes visible even through the rain and mud. You see six of them creeping forward, one step at a time. In their awful sanguine eyes, you see only a feral hatred- of you, your Pokemon, the world, and what these poor creatures have become. In a former life, these Pokemon would've been Poochyena. Now, though, they're merely monsters to be put down. Your sprites will be on the map as soon as they're ready. Hollow Pokemon will be tinted red on the map to differentiate them from others of their kind. Each one will be marked with a dot to differentiate them. When you post your attack, put a spoiler in that indicates which one you're attacking.

"Try not to get flanked!" Marshall called out as he leapt into action. Marshall was not going to wait to get surrounded, he spurred Canter forward immediately. With a whinny she dashed forward, moving to cut off the closest hallow that had tried to sneak up around the rock on their left side. With a sharp whinny she darted forward, Marshall on her back. She intecepted the poocheyna and smashed into it with her shoulder, the momentum sending the hollow dog rolling backwards a few meters. Canter shifts to red poocheyena. 4m/9m used, 5 m remaining for Marshall's turn. Canter uses tackle! 16 vs AC 2 to hit DB 5 = 32 physical damage! Red Poocheyena is pushed back 2 meters.

Seeing two Hollowed Poochyena approaching her and Sedna from behind some trees Jalena turned and pointed at them and cried out, "Go get them Sedna! Use Disarming Voice on them" Sedna hearing the orders quickly moved toward the poochyena by the tree. When she reached the two, she let forth a powerful cry, the soundwaves of which assaulted the ears of the Hollows it was targetting. Sedna shifts 3 squares towards the pink and purple poochyena and uses Disarming Voice on them. Dealing 24 damage before defences and resistances.

Sarcourne turns to Lucia, "You take left and I'll take right." then shot forward as Sedna's voice echoed around the boulder. The heavy rain caused the mud to grip and suck on Sarcourne's thick boots as he advanced on the horrid and decrepit Poochyena. The soaked soil made Sarcourne slip just as he brought Honedge across him in a cross cut. The haunted blade flew high above the canine's head while Sarcourne regained his footing. Sarcourne shifted 5 squares then attempted a struggle attack using Honedge as a simple melee weapon.

Jalena turns to the poochyena on Sedna's right and blows a kiss towards it, a faint pink glow is briefly seen going from her to the target. "How'd you like that?" she says when the glow flows into the poochyena's body. Jalena uses Sweet Kiss on the pink poochyena.

That was a rough hit, but the poocheyna wasn't down yet, still, he hoped to get around to the back and help flank the poocheyna. That was the job of the cavalry after all. He still had his first target to deal with. He carefully avoided its thrashing before moving in with his spear and jabbing down hard, twisting the spearhead as he did so to rip the wound open wider. Marshall shifts 4 meters around poocheyna to avoid AoO.

Marshall's training has done its job. The Poochyena, with a growl of despair, crumbles to ash, soaked almost immediately by the rain into ashen mud. The monsters near Sedna don't let up, however. Just as the Popplio believes it has the upper hand, one of the two lurches out of nowhere and delivers a brutal Tackle, sending Sedna tumbling back. The second one rushes in and repeats the maneuver, sending the Popplio crashing into a rock and leaving it whimpering in pain. Sedna was Critted for 30 damage, counting resistances. The second one hit, dealing 13 damage, counting for resistance. Sedna is now left with 1hp and 2 injuries. Two of the surviving Poochyena move towards Lucia, growling ominously. The one engaged to Sarcourne circles around before diving in, injuring the knight badly and knocking him back. Sarcourne takes 24 damage, counting for resistance. These Hollows, you realize, are glass catapults- able to deal grievous injuries, but unable to withstand a good, solid blow.

"Right." and with that Lucia bolted out to face the feral pups before her, putting her back to Sarcourne. Working in tandem with her blade, the woman struck the dog hard with the blade itself not singing in the rain, but letting out a terrible metal-on-metal scraping screech in its travel. Metal Claw 15 vs AC 3 19 damage

Honedge with Metal Sound 19 vs AC 4. All non-friendly targets in burst 2 now have -2 SDef CS

Marshall spurred Canter forward to help defend the others, whirling back around the rock and attempting once again. Once again, the ponyta lunged forward, attempting to tackle one of the hollow pokemon away from its advance. This time the hit was less well placed, perhaps the chaos of battle was getting to the young pokemon. Marshall made a mental note to work on her over-excited nerves. Canter shifts 5, four remaining. She does not provoke attacks of opportunity due to Run Away
Canter uses tackle! Rolls 3 vs ac 2 On the off chance that that hits... 29 physical normal type damage.
