One Trubbish was not fond of the food, but the other lunged at it. Orin was happy to see at least one of the pokemon was enjoying the food he cooked up. After the one Trubbish finished its snack Orin pulled out another pokeball, this time in clear sight of the pokemon. He left the one to the side just in case he needed to act quick. He pushed the ball twards the recently fed Trubbish, smiling, "there's plenty more where that came from."

The trubbish would cautiously walk forward, the other screaming at it furiously in trubbisheese, and it would swallow the pokeball whole, letting out a small burp, and turning it's attention to the other one, with a happy 'Trub! Trub!'

Shocked, "What?!" turning to Jamie and Skylar, "he ate my pokeball!"
Orin was shocked and disheartened by his failed persuasion and loss of a pokeball. It wasn't even close to the first time things that belonged to him were eaten, but then that was his brothers and it was always food. But it's a garbage pokemon, 'I guess I can't blame him for eating anything.'
That's when he had another idea; pulling out the empty potion bottle he still had on him from before and waved it in front of the burping pokemon. "More food for you!"
Orin saw how frail and disheveled the Trubbish looked (even for trash), and feared having Rook attack would just lead to a KO. The poor state of the pokemon combined with the happiness from being fed, gave Orin hope that the little fella wouldn't put up much of a fight. He tossed the potion bottle up in hopes the Trubbish would go for it. As he did he palmed the ball on the ground, waiting for his moment. When the potion bottle was being eaten, while the Trubbish was distracted, Orin would lob the ball at it.

The trubbish would sruggle a bit, to the point where it looked like the ball might break, cracking ever so slightly, but in the end, it would click, and the pokemon would be captured. This would throw the other Trubbish into a rage, flinging sharp trash, like syringes and other grimy pointy bits of metal about in it's anger. Trubbish used Toxic Spikes!

Jamie watches the capture with interest. She doubts anyone else wants another one, she DEFINITELY doesn't want a pokemon that'll eat her few remaining balls, and letting the Pokemon mess up the path any further sounds like a bad idea, so best take it out before that happens. "Alright, Spike, let's finish this one off!" Spike responds enthusiastically, ramming aside bits of garbage with its horn pointed directly at the Trubbish.

The trubbish eats the hit, but oddly enough, doesn't seem bothered by it in the slightest! Dispite a tear opening up in the bag it lets out an angry cry at it's trap being ignored, and this bug assailing it.

"Rook, those spikes won't hurt you, go on an Scratch it!"
Rook crunched on a toxic spike, slowing him down, but no poison for him. He could get to the Trubbish, but wouldn't be able to get away so easily, no problem there.

That would have a fair bit more effect, and the Trubbish would soon realize that, perhaps, without a friend there anymore it had bitten off more then it could chew. While still definitely combat capable, it'd make to grab Spike, trying to hold him in a hostage position. PnVS1VIg1d20 AC2, if it hits, opposed check to grapple

Skylar watched with the bare minimum of interest. He didn't like the trashbag-looking pokemon, if only because he wouldn't be able to stand the stench by having them around him. He snapped back into focus once one of the Trubbish began to attack Orin and Jamie's mons. He was going to let a command, but quickly saw the toxic spikes being thrown up, before disappearing. Once he saw Spike make a small path, he saw his opptunity. "Coatli, follow Spikes back and get that Trubbish away from him!" He said, motion his hand to the path. Coatli nodded, as her little legs ran as far as they could to try and tackle Trubbish away from Spike.

The trubbish would take the blow, being sent back. It was clearly wounded now, it's trashy guts falling from the holes in the bag, and it scoops back up what landed around it with it's trashy arms. Coatli's attack saved Spike from danger of being dragged off, and the trashbag was seriously considering it's options. With the space made, and three angry pokemon on the wrong side of the barrier, two of which immune to most it's tricks, it'd turn tail, and try to run, the slow trashbag waddling down the road dropping grime as it went.

"Rook; if you please."
Happy not to move over the rough, spiky terrain, Rook obliged. With a lift and a toss of the hat, Rook attempted to finish it off with a Fling.

The Trashbag would duck the attack as it ran, taking a moment to grab the hat as it went on it's trip forward, stuffing it in it's face.

Jamie watches the Trubbish run off with Orin's hat, stifling a giggle, then calls Spike back. "No real sense in going after it, that hat's long gone by now. Only real issue left's the trash, and I think you got a new friend that could do something about that, eh?"

Rook watches as his hat is crammed into the belly of the beast. He attempts to make chase, but doesn't get far before stepping on another spike and toppling forward. As he lay on the ground he reached out towards the Trubbish futilely, letting out a cry. Orin himself was also prevented from going after the hunger thief due to the spikes. Despite the displeasure of seeing his friend in turmoil, he opted for making a new hat over poison. Only Skylar and the Turtwig had a chance of taking it down before it was gone, if they even cared to. "It's alright Rook, it's gone, I'll make you a new one. Why don't you take a rest, you don't need to walk the rest of the way to town."
Orin swapped Rook for the new capture. "I was thinking the very same thing Jamie."
When the Trubbish appeared, Orin held his last pokeball far from it, "these are not food! ...no chance your going to spit the other one up huh?"
The Trubbish just stared, "didn't think so. Well, it looks like your friend set up a buffet for you," indicating the spikes, "help yourself!"

The trubbish, a little disorentated, would 'sniff' the air a bit, then run up and down the length of road, as well as the bushes, pickinf up everything it ran into, much like a roomba. It would plop back down in front of Orin afterwards, a little winded, but pleased with a job well done.

Skylar watched, with no hidden amusement, as the second Trubbish consumed Orin's hat before running off into the woods. Coatli merely fell down for a quick snooze. Once the captured Trubbish was finished sucking up the poison spikes, the turtle woke up and ran right to Skylay, before jumping up into his arms. "Nice work girl, and you didn't get poisoned as well~" He commented, stroking the Turtwig's head before addressing the rest of the group. "Well now, I say we better get into town."

The Trubbish gobbled up all those toxic spikes, making the roadways clear once more. "Well done Bindi, I hope your feeling better, you sure looked out of sorts when we first met you."
She seemed pleased, letting out another burp, This time Orin was happy to see the 'food' disappear. "Your days of fighting for survival are over, were almost to town, rest up and gain your full strength."
At that, Orin recalled the Trubbish. Responding to Skylar, "town sounds good."
As the group made their way to town, Bandit sidled up to Orin's side, "And where were you? We could have used your help earlier."
Bandit mildly gave a 'back there' gesture with his tail. Orin wasn't mad, there was no danger and everyone was fine; besides, Orin didn't ask anything of him either.

"Town definitely sounds good after these woods. No snakes, lunch, hopefully less ambushes, the works." Jamie gets a mischevious smirk on her face. "So, who wants to race to town? 3 2 1 GO!" Without waiting for the others, she bursts into a run down the path.

It would be a short race, a mere quarter mile, and they'd be out of the woods, and approaching the west side of town, the forest giving way to a clearcut with a large river of mountain run-off cutting through the middle of town, and pooling in a spring of fresh water to the south. As they entered the town, they'd see the town guard, his trusty growlith standing watch at his side, the man giving them a friendly nod as he stood across the road from a large sandpit, the sort one would see used as an impromptu arena. The town itself was very vertical, running along the river upto the mountains, but most of the buildings to the north where residential, though the old mines also lay that way, while to the south, suspended over an eddy in the river, lay the gym. A large structure, in vaguely Oriental style, the flowing water passing through it. Along the main road that ran through the town was the mart on the western side, and the poke-center on the eastern one, both open for buisness.
