"Alright, Shapiro, this one's all you!" Gently grabbing the Caterpie off her shoulder, she judges the oddish's position in the river, takes aim, runs up, and at the edge of the bank heaves the slightly surprised Caterpie in a not particuarly graceful arc towards the Caterpie while yelling, "Aerial Tackle Maneuver!"

Orin watched as a Caterpie soared through the air, he moved to the edge of the river, setting down the limp Rattata. He position it in a way that seemed comfortable, them grabbed some of those ingrediants from his bag he had offered earlier. Since he wasnt trying to hurt it initaly, Orin wanted to make good on his offer. Setting the food down near the Rattata, he seemed content that he and/or Jamie could keep an eye on it in case preditors came to mess with the defencless rat.

The oddish, much to it's credit, almost evaded the tackle completely, the caterpi clipping it's side as it pounded into the water. Still, much to the Canterpi's credit, it put enough force behind even the chip hit, the Oddish would vanish under the water, thrown into the riverbed meters below. The water would slowly start to turn purple, and the Caterpi would be engulfed in the Acid that the Oddish was spewing out in retaliation, though it diluted quickly as it ran downstream. 9i5xKsX21d20 AC2, special 2d6+25 Poison damage1d20·2d6+25

A few seconds later, Shapiro burst through the water's surface, swimming towards land desperately trying to get out of the acid cloud. Reaching the shore, she shakes as much liquid off of her as possible, a few small cuts from the short time in the sandstorm earlier inflamed by the acid. Jamie recalls her quickly, stepping back from the shore slightly with a ball in hand scanning the waters for any sign of the oddish surfacing.

There would be a long few tense seconds, before the oddish would surface, about a half-dozen meters downstream, gasping for air, and woundedly kicking it's feet.

"My thoughts exactly," Jamie replied as she ran alongside the river before stopping, aiming for a second, and chucking the ball towards the Oddish.

The pokeball would wiggle, once, then sink. Bubbles would rise. About twenty seconds later, the balls emergency floatation device would activate, and it'd pop to the surface of the water, tumbling downstream. The pokemon had been caught, but the catching was not over yet.

"Ok!" Jamie sits down next to his things and the Ratata while mostly watching Orin swim off after the ball.

Diving into the water, and swimming after the pokeball, orin would bump into a few lillypads, one flipping over with a startling sound, four blue legs kicking in the air.

After a long hard swim, Orin finaly snagged the Oddish ball. All the while focused on his task and not the scenery around him. When he turned back, Jamie appeared much smaller. After taking a breather and getting pulled further down stream, he inhaled deeply and dove down. He swam as low as the river would allow, down there, the water was calmer, and clearer. the water atop rivers is choppy and fast, but at the bottom it was much more managable. Down here Orin would have an eaiser time, especialy going upstream. It would also allow Orin to look around and get a sence of the inhabitants.
Orin can hold his breath for three mins

There where about three lotad, in the various eddies on the water surface, as well as a few other floating oddish: Quite clear as blue circles floating on the water's surface. The lotads seemed to dominate the surface calm spots, all the oddish forced to work to stay still. The water was also colder down here, the occasional ice chunk swirling about: this was fresh off the mountain.

The chunk of ice bumped into Orin sending a shiver through his body. 'Is that a Pokemon?'

Feeling the cold, and running short on air, Orin kicked of the river bed, rocketing to the surface. His intent was to disturb those on the surface, and make it back to the river bank to haul himself out. He prefered to take the battle to dry land, perhaps provoking pokemon to follow him. worst case, he would be emerging on the same side as Jamie should he be in distress.2d6

The muck at the bottom would spark, angrily, and he'd feel electricity course through his body. Below him, a Stunfisk would shimmer out of the muck, giving him a dirty look, and moving on...

Jamie was still watching the river, slightly more concerned at this point. Orin had been under for a while now, and it looked like he was surfacing, but she couldn't tell what was going on. "You all good in there?" she called, even though he was still underwater and probably couldn't hear her.

Flopping to the bank, Orin sucked in a breath hungrly. Partly winded, he gasped, "pancake fish."
He reached out a hand, not asshamed to ask for an assist.

Grabbing Orin's hand, Jamie helps pull him ashore by his stuff. "Geeze, might want to ask if you can swim in the gym next time, they might have less wild Pokemon in it. You got anything to treat this on you or we gonna leg it back to the center?"
