Before leaving, Orin made sure to retrieve Rook's hat. Orin kept the rented swim suit on and just picked up a few thinks from the locker room. As they walked, "that was fun! The Cherrim sure did a number on Rook though. I'm thinking I'll go for a swim where you caught Tympole; see what I can fine. Would you mind if I borrow your fishing rod just in case?"
When they got to the center, Orin greeted the nurse, requesting service for Rook. He dropped off the ball for Rook in his hat, "he'll want that when he recuperates, see you in a few hours, thank you."

Jamie exits the changing room in her normal clothes, glancing at Orin's choice to stay in his swimsuit before heading to the pokecenter. Once there, she hands over her fainted Pokemon to the nurse, only leaving Shapiro and her Tympole with her. "Sure you can borrow it, though if you're thinking of going swimming, maybe we could check out that river east the gym trainer mentioned? I dunno how much of that fight was her training and how much was natural , but that oddish was a tenacious little spud for sure, and one could come in handy for the gym leader."

The nurse would think a bit. "Not far! About fifteen minutes down the road, there will be a branch off to the left, that leads to Advancement cave, a minute or two walking down that path, and you'll be walking along the river! You ca follow it up all the way to the cave's entrance, more or less." She'd smile brightly. "Or, if you want somewhere else to swim, half an hour down the east road is Port Adept! The single main port of call for the continent!"

Jamie mulled it over for a moment, before making a choice. "Let's just head to the river for now, and if we feel like going further, we can. No sense in making a choice before we get there, after all. Think we could stop by the pokemart first though? Got some balls to buy."

The martkeeper would be glad to see them, welcoming them with open arms, (Albeit from the far side of the counter)
"Ah, the fresh trainers! here with your spoils from the gym? Come come, I'll make you a special deal! for every 1000p you spend, I'll throw in a premier ball!"
He'd laugh a little. "To be fair, they are not the best, last seasons model, but you're the first local trainers I've seen in awhile, One's got to support his home team!" He'd show the two white pokeballs, setting them on the counter. "The last I've got, just enough for one for each of you!"

Looking back at the Premier ball on the counter while browsing the aisles, Jamie took her wallet out of her backpack and recounted her money. Yep, still 900, just 100 short. "...don't suppose you'd be willing to buy anything from me, huh? I'm a bit short on that 1000 offer."

Orin drops the bundle he was cradeling in his arms, "I'll take these please."

The cashier would rink Orin up, grinning brightly as he'd slide one of the two sealed cases over. "Best of luck to you!" he'd say, with a mighty grin

Grumbling, Jamie rummages through her bag, before extracting the two mushrooms she'd picked the day before, slightly flattened from something leaning on them, and putting them on the counter. "Think I could get at least 100 for these?"

The store owner would peer at them, not touching them, but looking appraisingly. "Oh you freshbloods ans your apt to pawn off whatever you can find... Alright. I'll take them for 100p of store credit."

"Nice, thanks for that, mister." Doing a quick circuit around the store for anything of interest, she grabs a few items from the utility section of the store, looks through the pokeballs shelf, tallies up the costs on her fingers, runs back to the utility section to grab one last item, then returns to the counter with her goods.

The clerk rings up jamie's purchases, and slides her the case with the Premier ball, waiving them off friendily as they go about there way.

Jamie looks over the premier ball happily, before putting it carefully in her bag on top of her other purchases, glass jar nestled in the coils of rope. "Yea, let's get a move on. Don't want to take to much time before the gym probably."

The road out to the east wwas well maaintained, albeit skirted by the woods: it was paved with stones and dirt, and was fairly well used, though it was no highway. When they got to the part where a path branched off the road, and twisted off into the trees, about 15 mins away from town, they'd see a strange sight: A ratatata, seemingly chewing on a thumb-sized rock in the middle of the road.

Orin walks up slowly to the Rattata, holding his hands out in a placating gesture. Oren found it slightly odd that the rat was chewing on a rock, but maybe it wasn't a rock after all. He wasn't all that interested in fighting the rat Karma or catching it for that matter, but he wanted to get by.
"Hi, I come in peace."
With Rook in the Pokemon Center, and only a limited amount of time before he wanted to get back to the gym, it didn't seem like a wise decision to just out-and-out pick a fight.
