As Drampa hauls its unconscious trainer and Trapinch off, Rotom tilts to the side, thinking. "You know," it says, "I don't know. The only information I have on it is that it's dangerous, and people and Pokemon should stay far away from it. Well, maybe that individual isn't dangerous, but the species is." Rotom begins playing the video it took of the monster, saying "But why would someone mark a creature as dangerous while not giving any information?" Ira Now that you think about it, at some of the angles in Rotom's video, the thing matches some drawings in the book you found on the beach...

Ira frowns. "So, the book talks about things riding on people's heads and so does Ryuki - that was too much of acoincidence already. But that thing... I think that thing has something to do with it - looks real close to what was in the book. Need to look over the book again to be sure, but I think we should be real cautious of those things."

"Wait!" Elise shouts as the pokémon turned invisible.
Realizing the fight was over she returned to her brothers and Rotom.
"But... it didn't seem that harmful just now." Elise added to the discussion.

Rotom looks equally confused. "I know," it says slowly. "That was my thought too. It didn't seem harmful, yet 'DANGER!' was the only data I had on it. Maybe we should ask Professor Kukui."

"That might be a good idea." If anyone knew the local pokémon expert might be a good bet.

"Alright, let's go." Ira nods, thinking. "Let's just hope he knows something." And isn't in on it.

Kane puts Takumi back in his ball, and trods off behind his siblings. He's still not quite sure what's happening, but he does know that he's a little hungry

It takes a while, but you return to Kukui's lab. As you do, you see he's just finished speaking with a young girl and her Bulbasaur, and has sent both out the door with a smile. He notices you, and shoves his hands into his pockets in an easygoing manner. "Well, I didn't expect to see you guys so soon," he says. "What brings you back here?"

Ira waits until he's sure the girl has gone, checks outside to make sure no one's listening in, looks the Professor over to make super-sure he's not under any kind of influnence and then starts speaking.
"Had a bit of a...close encounter. Not sure what it was, looked like a massive floating jellyfish, but Spookedex didn't ahve any info on it other than it was dangerous and I didn't know much other than it might be dangerous. So, we figured we'd ask you about it. Could you show him the picture?" He asks Rotom.

"I don't know about it being dangerous. It only seemed to be interested in dancing." Elise added after her brother was finished.

"Dancing?" Kukui frowns as Rotom dutifully shows him the images of the mysterious creature. Kukui looks at it, and his frown deepens. Looking back at you, he says "I've only seen this twice before, and neither time was good. These creatures are known as Nihilego. Whatever they are, they aren't from this world, and they're certainly not Pokemon; Pokeballs, aside from Master Balls, don't catch them." He looks back, playing the video of the Nihilego dancing with Elise. "I've heard reports that they sometimes behave like young girls, though this is the first I've actually seen it. You should count yourselves lucky; these monsters like to attach themselves to people's heads and inject them with poison. The poison lets you reach your maximum potential, but it also allows Nihilego to suck your life energy like a vampire. I've seen it happen each time I saw this creature, and it isn't pretty."

Ira nods grimly. "Attach 'emselves to people's heads? Sounds familiar. Right, need to know how to defend against 'em so first question: these things aren't always visible, so how do we tell when they're around and when people are under their influence. I know how to spot psychic tampering, but I don't know about this kind of poison."

"That's just it," Kukui says glumly, slumping into a chair. "We just don't know enough about the creatures to combat them. Well, I don't, anyway. During the fuss last year, the Aether Foundation was involved with these things, so they might know more." He looks at you seriously. "The point is this: these things are dangerous, and there are others we've heard of, and some we may not even know about. So, unfortunately, my only advice is this: if Rotom ever goes off like that again, grab your Pokemon and run."

"That's bad." That meant they couldn't be caught unless someone figured out a way to mass produce master balls and if that was possible someone would probably have tried that already. Elise was thinking a bit. The professor was probably right, but somehow she didn't think that Nihilego was that bad.
"Well, I guess we should be careful if we see one again." She said to her siblings.

"Careful doesn't begin to describe it. If this thing is that dangerous, we need to keep a constant lookout - you see anything like it, even out of the corner of your eye, you say, that work for everyone?" Ira says, a worried look on his face - this thing was invisible at first, who knows if anyone will see it next time it comes around?

As Rotom salutes Ira like a midget commando, Kukui says "Thankfully, Ira, Nihilego are the more sneaky of the beasts you need to watch out for. The others are more overt in making their appearance known, either by sheer size or inherent destructive ability. Sometimes both, unfortunately."

"Appreciate the thought, Professor, but that isn't reallt that comforting." Ira says. "Still, if we see any buildings get levelled, I guess that'll be a bit of a giveaway."

Kukui types on the computer for a moment, replying "Not in Alola, no, but other regions weren't so lucky." He pulls up a video titled "House gets eaten by GENUINE MONSTER NO CGI NO TRICKS REAL MONSTER" on PokeTube. Clicking the "Play" button, you all see the video of a large black Pokemon dismantling a house, one chunk at a time, and shoveling it into its gullet. All the while, people around it are pointing and shouting "Oh my Arceus!" After the house is devoured, the monster begins devouring the trees in the back yard, then the shed, and then it notices and devours the family car. As it notices he people filming this gluttonous spectacle, it lumbers over, presumably to eat them- and then the video ends. "We call that one Guzzlord," Kukui says. "It devours everything it comes across, and never seems to fill up. Since its droppings have never been found, we can only assume it utterly digests anything it eats- and it does eat anything. Houses, cars, people, Pokemon, asphalt, math homework... everything." Ira So the online conspiracy theories were right. These aren't just crank videos. Kane A true warrior would not flinch or flee from a horror like that. Truly, a worthy adversary for one such as you! Elise If there are so many destructive monsters like Guzzlord and Nihilego, might there be friendly ones too?

Kane stands in awe of the utter devastation brought upon the world by this creature. Truly, this was a creature worthy of a battle with the mighty Kane.
