Kane stiffen up at the presence of the fruity pokemon, and enters attack position (trademarked attack position that is. Did you know you can trademark anything as long as you have the internet and 10 bucks?)
"What sort of foul beast is that?! It's clearly a high level demon!!"

"Wow that's adorable!" Elise said as the fruit like pokémon came in sight. She noticed that her younger brother didn't seem to think so.
"Hold a minute Kane, It's just helping it's trainer! Besides isn't it cute?" Elise said as she stepped between the pokémon and her younger brother.

Ira raises an eyebrow at Elise. "Just cause it's cute doesn't mean it's not dangerous. Even the smallest 'mon's got some moves in its arsenal. Still, you're right, this one's just giving its trainer a hand. Its... probably not a threat."
He gives Kane a knowing look. "Don't worry, hero, I'm sure something'll try to kill us soon." He doesn't sound especially happy about this fact, but seems sincere and hopes it'll placate his little brother.
A thought occurs to him and he turns to Hau. "Say, Hau, don't suppose you know if any of these stalls sell Dowsing Rods? Way I hear it, some of the islands' beaches are lousy with Shards."

Hau thinks a moment. "Dowsing rods? Probably, but I've never seen the need to shop for them. As for shards, I never see any when I'm on Melemele beach, though it's probably because I don't have a dowsing rod." He looks at all of you. "Say, that gives me an idea. After you're set up at Grandpa's place, why don't we hit the beach? You can beachcomb for shards and other goodies if you want- or wild Pokemon." He then proceeds to tell you about Pyukumuku- an oval-shaped Pokemon that crawls onto the beach and is a nuisance for tourists; Hau apparently has a part-time job collecting these Pokemon and throwing them back into the sea. Of course, he reminds you, Pyukumuku is only one of many Pokemon to inhabit coastal habitats.

"That sounds wonderful! I can't wait to find out what lives there!" She said at Hau suggestion to go to the beach. Ignoring her brother because she knew he meant well.

Kane maintains on edge and sticks close to Elise as the group continues. He's still not quite accustomed to being outside this much, let alone in a whole new region.

Ira nods at Hau's suggestion. "Good idea. Even if I don't find anything, can't hurt to get the lay of the land, see the sorta place we'll be dealing with."

About 15 minutes of walking later, you come to the outskirts of Hau'oli City. From there, Hau leads you down Alola Route 1 a ways before arriving at a two-story home made of logs; a combat arena can be seen behind it. Inside, it's comfortably rustic- almost like Great Uncle Stan's cabin, but more neatly kept, and without the nuclear powered Zubat harassing you. "Grandpa Hala, I'm back! And guess what? They're here!" Hau shouts as you enter. A gruff voice from upstairs replies "Is that so? I'll be down in a moment." Before Hala arrives, however, you're all startled by the appearance of a tiny, panda-like Pokemon that runs out to start investigating you. You recognize it as a Pancham.

"Wow that's a nice house!" Elise said as their destination came in sight. Especially since it didn't seem to have zubat, nuclear or otherwise.
"Hey there Pancham!" Elise greeted the panda-like pokémon. She didn't see any danger in greeting it as if it wanted to hurt them it would probably have done so when they didn't notice it yet. She wondered if this Pancham was owned by Hau or Hala or that it lived somewhere closeby.

Kane points his sword at the Pancham majestically as he cowers behind his older sister. Her content with the tiny panda convinced him that she would be better suited for the front lines in this epic battle.

Ira puts a hand on Kane's, gently pushing to try to get him to lower it.
"Relax, Kane, don't think this guy's here to start a fight."
He looks down and gives the Pancham a respectful nod. "Don't worry about us, we're not here to cause trouble."

Kane lowers his sword, but maintains his position directly behind his sister.

"Do you live here with Grandpa Hala and Hau?" Elise asked the Pancham. Completely ignoring her cowering brother behind her. Not because she doesn't care about him, but to show him that he really didn't need to be afraid of this pokémon.

The Pancham inspects you curiously, having never seen you around before, poking you gently with its tiny paws. As it does, Hala comes marching down the stairs, his heavy footfalls preceding his arrival. "Well, well, well," he says with a smile. "I haven't seen you kids in ages!" He indicates the Pancham poking you. "I see you've met Pancham. I've been training that one, trying to evolve him into Pangoro." As he reaches the bottom of the stairs, Pancham hides behind him as quickly as its stubby leg will allow.

Kane pokes his head from behind Elise as the Pancham heads behind Hala.
"Is it going to eat us?! Demons of that caliber usually eat people!"

"Grandpa Hala, Good to see you again!" Elise greeted the elder while trying to touch the pancham back gently.
"No you silly! It's not going to hurt anyone. It's a pokémon not a demon. And we're with you, so don't worry about it." She reacted when her little brother was afraid the pancham might try to eat them.

Hala gives a great booming laugh. "Don't worry, Kane. It's not going to eat you. Believe me when I say this, there are other Pokemon in Alola that're more dangerous than this little one here." He gently urges the Pancham back to be petted by Elise. When she's able to pat the Pancham on the head, its serious expression immediately changes to a silly grin. Looking at you all, he says "I would love to stay and ask how your trip was, but that'll have to wait until tonight. Someone is taking the island challenge, and has progressed far enough to challenge me. There are several empty rooms upstairs; take your pick." As Hala leaves, Hau says "C'mon, guys! Pick your rooms and get changed, then we can hit the beach!"

"Island Challenge?" Elise inquired. She didn't exactly knew this region very well so she didn't knew what the island challenge was either.

Hala, unfortunately, has already left, so he could not hear Elise's question. Hua, on the other hand, is happy to explain. The Island Challenge is Alola's equivalent of the League challenge in other regions. You need to perform certain tasks, laid out by the Island Kahunas, before you're able to battle the Kahuna directly. Once the Kahunas on all four islands are defeated, you need to ascend Mount Lanakila on Ula'ula Island. There, you face the Kahunas again, in a manner similar to the Elite Four before you can be called "Champion." The current champions are actually two children about your own age: Sun and Moon. Once the Kahunas are defeated for the second time, you earn the right to face the twin champions. The Island Challenge is something of a rite of passage for natives to Alola. Hau has actually made it to where he can challenge the twins, but has been unsuccessful in dethroning them. It doesn't bother him much, however; actually getting to the point where he was able to face the twins was enough for him. He'll be more than willing to guide you through the Island Challenge, should you wish to take it.

"Beaches? Island Challenges? That's of no concern of a noble hero. It would be best that I attune with the spirits instead"
For Kane's siblings, they would know that "attune with spirits" Is the equivalent to Watching his favorite show on blu ray for the 16th zillionth time
