"That... yeah I only just realised how lucky that was..." She squints a little at Sparrow. "You know you made that sound like it was business as usual. Have you been looking for trouble? Her tone is accusatory. She may not know him well, but she was growing fond of the guy and would rather he not die soon just because he ran off and tried to fight 40 shadows.
"Thanks for the offer, but I'll settle for knowing what's going on. You danced around it, Sparrow did too... Is it that hard to give a straight answer?"
Ciara shook her head.
"I'm fine with the whole assessment thing, but won't do it until we're told what Mythos is and what's happening with it or how it can cause people to kill themselves and the like. I mean, why now? Why hasn't something like this happened before?"
"Oh is that what you're confused about? Ha! Sorry, I thought Sparrow covered all that for you. Well certainly, I'd be happy to answer that much, wasn't really dancing around it. Mythos is difficult to explain, but it's really a very simple concept. There is a parallel dimension connected to this one. Why it exists is beyond me, but in it, our emotions and psyches manifest into tangeable creatures. As negative emotions become more prominent in the real world, then more negative creatures appear in the other world, which in turn influence people further in this world. See, they're the manifestation of negative emotions. The stronger your negativity, the more it affects the people around you, so as negative creatures become stronger, so does the chance of people being around that creature's human turning negative as well. That's basically why we try our best to stop monsters in that world from being too prominent.
As for why now, well, it's' never been just now. It's been always. That world has always existed, and there have always been people like Sparrow and I fighting to maintain balance there. There is no long term solution in dealing with it, we just do the best we can. As for the recent spread of suicide attempts, that's also a result of that world. Recently larger quantities of monsters have been appearing, but we aren't sure why. It has to do with some real world event, and my people have been investigating, but we've come up with nothing. Something in the immediate area has happened that has caused trauma to a number of high school aged students, which in turn caused them to create more shadows in Mythos, and influence more people around them. So let's see, I covered what Mythos is, how it influences our world, and why it's happening now. I believe that's everything you asked. Please feel free to ask any more questions."
Miguel looked at the beautiful woman thoughtfully as he easily caught the medical acquisition forms. For a woman that was supposedly suspicious, she was terribly quick to give them dirt on herself. If anything, she was actually awfully trusting - enough to give them leverage to not only get her fired, but perhaps even get her tried in the court of law. This was a form of theft, after all. Something someone like him would know.
Still, he wasn't too enthused with coming back for another round so soon, even if he and the others did literally just affirm wanting to go back and 'help'. He would just have to play along for now - that was always the plan, after all.
"The skepticism is fine. This entire situation is rather bizarre in a lot of different ways, after all. I personally do not mind, but I believe the others may." Because goody two-shoes indignant teen outbursts. He'd almost forgotten what those were like. Pity.
"I do have some questions, though. The one bugging me the most right now is if this other world thing is limited to San Fransokyo or does it have a wider area. How big is that other world?"
"Well that kind of depends on the task at hand. Generally we try to only go into Mythos if there's a higher count of monsters than usual. On top of actual field work, I'd also ask you to investigate the real world in your free time, to find whatever may be triggering the monster growth. I'd also ask that you participate in the occasional group activity to help build some comradery with your fellow agents"
Sparrow doesn't seem all that intimidated by suzume, but rather, confused.
"Get rid of-. . . what? I don't get it. How am I supposed to get rid of a word? It's not like, a physical thing I can touch, let alone remove"
Mother notices the two not paying attention, and gives a more effective stern stare at Sparrow. The boy stops speaking immediately. She re-establishes her calm demeanor, and addresses the group once more.
"Well it would seem we're getting a bit restless. If there aren't any more questions, then may I ask what you would like to do? We could head into Mythos now, do a quick assessment, and put my mind at ease, or we could save that for a later date if you all need some time to think it over."
Miguel processed everything that was said and done while ignoring the little side thing with the kid. Was this really worth the investment...? Well, it was a global thing at the very minimum and he was already holding the incriminating documents. And they already knew his face and real name, which kind of/sort of bound him to them in a way. Just a bit.
Well... might as well play along. For now.
"Sure, I don't mind doing it now. It's a free day for me."
"Wonderful, glad we can settle this matter right away. Now then, if you'll all just accept my invite, we can get started"
An alert goes off on each of your cells. The Jack app features the a bouncing cheeky mascot telling you that a new contact has invited you to a party in Mythos! Upon accepting the invite, you find the world around you starts distorting violently. The walls seem to turn into a sort of TV fuzz, and a high pitched laughter rings in your ears, until you are set into a familiar scene. The room seems the same, well, except for the vibrant purple walls, flying books, and number rain outside the window, but none the less, you seem sure that this is a Mythos equivilant to the pediatrician's office.
Sparrow is where he was left standing, dressed in his rogueish garb as before, and mother is behind her desk, dressed far differently than before
The newly punked out Mother stands and stretches her arms above her head
"Mmmmmm~ that feels sooooooo much better. All right, let's get started here. First of all, could you all summon your personas please and thank you?"
Oh wooow. Well bookcovers and judging them... or something. she thinks. Aloud she starts to say "Right yeah, so we just need the card and-" as she speaks she absentmindedly taps her own pocket where she feels something hard. She pulls it out to look at it and sees Byakko looking out of its card at her. "Oh, alright then. Come on out, Byakko!" She snaps the card with both hands this time and the flaming tiger appears before her.
After seeing what Mother was wearing, Jericha didn't feel so weird with her less revealing armor. She flicked her scarf around her shoulder, and whipped out her tarot card as well. "Geez. And I thought I was the one who got a questionable outfit. Anyways, Persona!" The valiant, and sharp warrior materialized behind her, back to back. "Oi! I think we need a talk about proper communication!" "Oi! Less talking, more punching. Got it?" "......Heh. Got it." Both smirked, and cracked their knuckles.
A button-press later after much conversation, they were back. And boy oh boy, Miguel's eyes were glued to the super hot porcupine mama in a definitely revealing outfit. Not the most revealing he'd seen -he'd worked in a world-touring circus after all and that got fucking crazy sometimes with Western tours- but dayum did it look good on her. He could literally hear the commentary in his head, and it wasn't PG-13 friendly in the least.
He was snapped out of his low-key leering when the other three he was with took out their personas with all the fanfare and then looked down at himself. He tilted his head for a moment as he wondered if this skin-tight suit even offered pockets or something like that, but then he just shrugged and drew a card out with a flick of his hand, like magic. He then proceeded to crush said card and it was like a rush all over again.
"Persona!" Behind him, a tall bipedal black fox with long flowing hair appeared behind him and grinned unabashedly at the girl in front of them.
"Helloooooo Doctor~" Zoroark said with a light cackle.

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.

but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

i wanted to join a living server on roll20 to learn the system but they ignored my application for 2 weeks then blocked me

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
