Jericha happily stuffs her face with bread. While she does this, she takes the water, pours it into her special cup, pours in some protein powder, and starts shaking it up. She guzzles this down as well.
As Miguel mention's sparrow, the elderly couple suddenly becomes silent and attentive. The scene is uncomfortable tense as they stare you down, then suddenly, they both just start laughing. Alot. Like, super uncomfortably if you don't know what the joke is.
"Oh my-! I can't believe-! HE STILLS CALLS HIMSELF THAT?!?!!"
As the couple continues their giggles, a door in the back suddenly smashes open
"WHY IS IT SO LOUD IN HERE?! DO YOU TWO KNO-"
At that moment, Sparrow pops out, wearing a collared shirt, dress pants, and flower printed lengthy apron. He seems a bit surprised, slightly embarrassed, but regains his composure.
"Oh, you guys are here . . . right I said to come here. Shi- um right. So you've already met William and Nancy I guess. They operate this . . . lovely establishment"
"Yes, we've been really enjoying talking to you friends . . . Sparrow"
Sparrow seems slightly agitated, but doesn't want to be disrespectful to his elders, so he decides to hold his tongue.
"Nancy, these guys are here for your special inventory. Can we go downstairs"
"Oh! Those kind of friends! Well of course then, follow me everyone! To a land of enchantment and wonder OOooOooOOOooooooHHOhHhHHHhh!!!"
"It's a basement Nancy. Just a basement"
Following the boy and the old lady, you go downstairs to a dimly lit room. When Nancy pulls the chain to a lightbulb, it reveals a damn near borderlands style war room filled with a wide variety of weapons of mass destruction. Everything from katanas, to atomic teddy bear rocket launchers.
Ciara chose to allow Miguel to explain the reason for their visit. She instead turned to the old lady and eyed the dragon cup.
"Um... if you'd like, I could probably try and paint some cups for you. I'd like to think I'm a pretty good artist, and I could certainly use a little bit of pocket change"
She winced a bit as the exuberant couple started screaming and laughing. She wasn't really much for loud sounds, but they seemed alright. Once Sparrow showed up she waved distractedly at him, then followed the group downstairs.
Walking into the armory (because there was no other way to call the room), Ciara couldn't help but bite her lip in worry. She wasn't a good fighter, despite her father trying to drill it into her. Sure, she knew how to clean up a rifle and some close-combat basics, but she'd never had to actually use any of it in her life. She'd only shot at shooting ranges and had hunted once.
"Ah, so you have this kind of wares too" she muttered, a bit uncomfortable with the whole turn of events.
Jericha's mango roll falls from her mouth as it drops as well. She slowly walks into the basement, and gawks at the amount of weapons. "Whhooooaaaaa....Is it legal to have all this? Why do you have all of this!?"
William and Nancy? Miguel mouthed to himself as the kid burst in... wearing a flowery apron. So the couple wasn't Japanese? That or they were really embracing the more global feel of San Fransokyo. At the mention of the special room though, he was definitely intrigued and followed the old woman and the boy down to their basement, keeping a casual wariness just in case this was some sort of weird initiation bull or a trap.
He was then pleasantly surprised to see one of the most well-kept and loaded weapon stock rooms he had ever seen. He raised his eyebrows in astonishment as he walked into the room and peered at one of the less dangerous items. "The more important question is... are these even real or just terribly accurate replicas? I know you can get a lot of realistic-looking things with that 3D fancy printing stuff and blue prints, or that's what they said."
"Oh we have both dear boy! Take this Spas-12 combat shotgun for example"
The man pulls out, unsurprisingly, a spas-12 combat shotgun, and lets loose a bullet at a nearby mannequin (Emphasis on that no one was near this manequinn. Gun safety first people). The loud blast leaves a ringing in your ears, and dust settles on the newly dismembered manequin. Nancy continues the explanation.
"We visited the states back when William decided to go back to college, and met a lovely little group of libertarian extremists! On thing led to another and now they just supply us with arms and ammunition by the truckload, and we help fund the revolution! Viva la Resistance!!"
Sparrow steps forward playing around with a butterfly knife
"But since there's an abundant lack of resistances in this city, they mostly just sell to enthusiasts, and groups like ours. You can find about anything you need here. For the right price of course. Feel free to spend your cash and after words we'll head over to boss. My shift ended about 3 minutes ago, so we can leave whenever"
Suzume doesn't even know what to think as this lovely couple lead them into an arms warehouse, take a shotgun and blow apart a training dummy. Oh wait yes she does: WHAT THE FUCK?! Took her mind a minute to catch up there.
She opts to just hang back while this madness happens. AS far as she can tell her fancy instrument already acts like a pretty good weapon over 'there'. No need to be running around San Fransokyo with a big-ass katana or shotgun...
"We get a weapon!? Awesome!" Jericha takes off towards the back of the basement. She digs through many piles of weapons, but nothing seems to fit her style. She fights with her fists, and swinging around swords, and maces just seemed out of place. The sheer amount of items at her feet also didn't help her make a decision. Something does catch her eye tucked away behind a shelf. After a few hard tug, she pulls out a light buckler shield. "Oh a shield....Yeah. Yeah! A shield!" She straps it to her arm, and takes a practice swings, and bashes into a mannequin. She then waves to the old couple. "Oi! Oi! I want this shield!"
Both? In a cafe? Miguel's eyebrows rose even further when she took what was clearly a real shotgun and he immediately took a few steps back and plugged his ears when she raised it to aim. His eyes widen when a powerful blast rang out from the basement -and he hoped to the gods that no one heard that loud ass blast upstairs or they were all kinds of fucked- that still managed to make his ears ring despite plugging them with his fingers.
He clapped on his ears both times after that, nodding while still looking very wary about things. Once the explanation was done though, he nodded and began to check the wares. He picked out a few things that he thought looked interesting (Flying Booster, Dark Booster), helped out by friendly text messages from his Persona. Once that was done, he waited to see if the others actually bought anything before calling attention to his own purchases.
"Oh of course dear! That's actually a replica made for one of those costume players. He ended up going to state for bashing in his uncle's face with it, and now it's ours. It's truly unfortunate how easy it is for some of these people to get weapons these days. Anyways, I can give you a great deal on that!"
Nancy trades money for shield, and voila, Jericha has acquired a new shield.
Miguel looked around at the others once he had finished his purchases, looking thoughtful. "Is everyone done with their purchases? Because if they are, then it'll be best to go and either enjoy the cafe food or leave and go meet the people Sparrow promised we can meet." He remarked with a firm nod.
"No offense to you ma'am, but it's best not to spend too much time in a place like this basement. Could be incriminating after all." He added as he glanced over at the group. The other two didn't look like they even wanted to touch the weapons so hopefully they should be good.
as everyone finishes with their purchases, Sparrow leads the group out of the cafe/illegal weapons bunker. William and Nancy pamper him a bit, and send him off with some snacks and a bit of embarrassing kind words. You all travel pretty far down the street to a larger section of the city. For anyone claustraphobic, this will be a bit intense.
Sparrow leads you all to the back entrance of a large, well funded hospital. It may be a bit intimidating walking through a bunch of "employee only" sections of the building, but none of the staff seem to pay you much mind. past the pristine white walls, and prominent stench of disinfectant, there's a pediatrician's office. Sparrow leads the way in, where a lovely young woman, blonde hair, great body, and kind eyes. She seems to be performing some sort of check up on a child. She has a truly nurturing aura about her. She seems kind, mature, and dare say-beautiful? Yes, yes you dare (I mean, if you're into beautiful women and such)~
As she notices your group, she smiles at Sparrow and points towards a door at the other end of the room. Sparrow leads you to it, where you are met with a fairly average room. Hard wood panels, generic ink blot paintings on the wall, cases of books, and a number of diplomas/doctorites hanging on the wall. Sparrow seems rather silent as you all wait, and eventually, the women comes into the room, smiling, just as delightfully as she was with the child.
"Sorry for that. Flu season hath no mercy am I right? It's a pleasure to finally get to meet you all. I'm Dr. Tavarez-"
"But when you speak to her, she's Boss, or you could use her code name, Mother. Be sure to be discreet, got it?"
Mother chuckle's at Sparrow's antics
"You'll have to forgive him. I swear he only has the best intentions."
Mother walks past the boy, and sits in her chair behind the desk.
"Sparrow already brought me up to speed with the situation. You've each unlocked a persona and would like to join our little club huh? Well, that's sweet, but if I may be frank, why should I trust you at all?"
A trip through the hospital is really suspicious, but nothing seems out of the ordinary. Jericha for the most part just looks around with not much interest. It seems to be a normal hospital after all...She is mostly confused. As they are introduced to the blonde woman, Jericha scratches the back of her head at the woman's words, and raises her hand. "Yeah ummmm....Shouldn't we be asking that? Since yesterday, we've been pulled into another world, attacked by monsters, gained magic powers, and bought weapons from old people. Sparrow has explained a lot, but a lot of it don't make sense to me. I don't know a lot of things, hell, I don't even know who the hell these guys are beside me really. So, if we are talking trust, can I learn who the hell you are, and what the hell is going on?"
As Sparrow lead them through the maze-like sidewalks to the larger part of San Fransokyo, Miguel had to push down a bit of claustrophobia that started rearing its head. He used to be a traveler that preferred the open skies and wide roads when not performing in that circus, and even four years of staying in this city hasn't helped him get used to the sheer claustrophobic feeling a city like this brought.
The claustrophobic feeling lessened when they went in a building, but the tension intensified when it was a hospital they went inside. He kept looking around warily, wondering where this child was dragging them and if he had to to figure out how to bail and fast. He got even more confused when they were lead to a pediatrician's office of all things.
But then he was treated to the sight of the most beautiful woman he had seen in real life this day -possibly this week- and everything was suddenly a-okay with him. Hello gorgeous doctor lady~~~
He was much less wary when he was lead to the room and even seemed at ease when the doctor came in. Seeing her be nice made him even more interested even as he just low-key ogled her and appreciated her fine beauty. However, he was distracted from that when the dark girl -Jericha, if he remembered right- made a rather... valid point. Albeit not in a manner he would phrase to such a fine woman.
He then offered the woman and Sparrow a pleasant smile. "My companion does have a point, Dr... Tavarez, was it? I didn't quite catch that before Sparrow interrupted you. It is true that you do not have much reason to trust us nor do we have much reason to trust you, no matter how... fair it is you seem or how we saved Sparrow from those Haunters. But from what we were told by Sparrow, there is no reason for us to not help in something that, in a way, affects us already."
He took a pause before he continued. "Besides, we are but like newborn children with our powers. What threat could we truly pose to one such as you and your group~? I ask that if you do not give us your trust, then at least give us a chance, mm?"
Ciara took a deep breath, preparing herself for what she assumed was not going to be received very well. Something about the doctor's tone seemed to trigger something within her... the patronizing voice, just the attitude, seemed to be very reminiscent of her own father.
"Sparrow made it sound like there weren't many Persona users out there. And from the state he was in when we stumbled across him, you need more of them because your operatives aren't enough to handle all the shadows. Thus, it's not about whether you trust us or not, and more about whether or not you can afford to a) not take on the new manpower that apparently was literally dropped in your lap out of literally nowhere"
Ciara looked at her companions for a second. She still had no idea just why they'd ended up in the other world and not knowing really worried her.
"And b) to have unaffiliated persona users running around and potentially interfering with whatever the heck you're doing. I'm not just sitting and waiting for some paranormal happening to hurt my friends when I can do something about it. I'm bloody tired of being helpless! Hell, for all we know, we've been single out and targeted already!"
Ciara shook her head.
"Both you and the kid need to stop acting like this is some cool secret club for fun or a normal emergency. It's not like we can just go tell someone that there's a parallel world where ghosts eat minds and that's the reason for the wave of suicides in the city. People are getting hurt, so stop treating this like some kind of job offer and be straight with us for once already... do you want the help or not?"
By the end of her rant, Ciara was huffing from all the shuffling around and gesturing she had done. She blushed just a bit, in embarrassment for having lost control of her emotions like that.
"I... sorry. Some anger at... other things might've spilled over into that. I'm just so tired of everyone playing spy games and not being able to give a straight answer"
Suzume wasn't too nervous walking through the city- after all, people watching was one of her hobbies, but she did feel nervous walking through the hospital. Soemthing felt just unsettlign and wrong about everyone just letting them through as well. Meeting the doctor was much nicer in comparison, she really is a beautiful lady... Seems kind too?
At least at first anyway. Suzume isn't really sure what to make of this whole trust/no trust thing. As far as she was concerned she thought they were in since the cafe. As the other three lose it at the doctor she just ends up staring at her hands. In her pocket her phone buzzes, but she doesn't answer it. She already knows it is Byakko admonishing her for not speaking up. Fianlly, and a little quietly she speaks up "I think we should be trying to work together against this..."
Sparrow seems like he's got something to say when Miguel and Ciara speak, but Mother puts a halt to it immediately. She takes a moment to try and find the right words. She smiles, and re addresses the group
"My sincerest apologies if I've come off as condescending. I assure you I'm more than grateful for your actions in saving Sparrow's life. I never permit my operatives to enter Mythos alone, and he's been proving to be a bit rebellious in that aspect. But I ask that you try and see things from my perspective. We rarely get one new person dropped into Mythos every 3 or 4 weeks, if that. Then suddenly 4 people drop in all at the same time, and at a weirdly convenient time at that. I hope that I'm just reading too much into it, but it just seems far too fortuitous for me. I ask that you be a bit forgiving of my skepticism.
However, these can all be put to rest fairly quickly. Should you all choose to join me in Mythos for an assessment of your persona's I believe I can get a definite read on your intentions. Of course, I recognize that I am asking for alot out of you, and you all seem to still have some questions, so before we venture off into the unknown, please, feel free to ask me anything, and I'll be happy to answer to the best of my abilities. If you're uncertain of whether or not you could trust me . . . hmm-"
Mother heads into her files, and pulls out a number of medical acquisition forms, and tosses them to the group
"You can have these. As the leader of this little group, it's also my responsibility to take care of my operatives, so I've been stealing medicine and equipment for months now under false pretenses. Here's a detailed list of everything I've gathered. If you ever felt my character in question, you could just bring this up to my board of directors, and I'd be fired. This may not qualify as trust, but at least some leverage should I choose to deceive you?"
Suzume lets someone else take the blackmail documents, she has no need. "I'm kind of interested in what makes now such a convenienty time. Sparrow made it sound like stuff was always going on more or less."

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.
Dec 2, 2019 19:05:30 GMT
but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
