The end of the world as humans knew it ended 27 years ago. Many people died in the initial shake but the volcanic eruptions and aftershocks have killed thousands of other survivors but you have been one of the lucky people to have descended from those who believed that this would happen and developed sky cities. Five sky cities are in existence right now as two of them were knocked down by an eruption. The sky cities have become over populated and in order to control the population they are taking “volunteers” also known as troubled kids to go down to the surface. Some are jst kids that made a decision to try to feed their family while others stole just for the heck of it or did something else wrong. The crime does not matter just that you did something in a society that no longer has a need for you.
Things have calmed down greatly over the past 20 plus years but the world still shakes and other dangers have become known to the world. Pokemon have changed over the years and few have been added onto the list. How will you and the other children survive in the new hostile world with what little supplies that you all have been given.
Pokemon were once a very large part of happy daily lives for everyone. In the recent years they have started getting more and more strict with the what is and is not allowed in the Sky Cities Pokemon wise. Now only pokemon that have a use in the Sky Cities are permitted. Examples being: those that can make power, help build, keep places warm, help with healing, or help with food and herb growth. All others are considered non-essential and are banned. All pokemon not essential that are found are sent down to the surface and the owner is sent to prison for a month. This ruling has caused a lot of people to become upset and some hide their pokemon in order to try and keep them.

The planet has a few spots that have been affected little enough to allow for the living of people on them. One of those places is in the area of what used to be the San Antonio and Houston area of Texas. You all have been showed videos of collapsed cities that are starting to grow plants in them. Pokemon run free and you can see lots of different types of pokemon and a couple of them that you have never seen before. Dian will be set in between the two cities.
There are no known survivors of those that stayed on the surface at least according to the heads of the Sky Cities. Some people have theories that there are some other survivors that have stayed hidden waiting for things to calm down some more but no one can say for sure as no one is permitted to go to the surface.
You are being sent down to a small settlement that has been sent down called Dian which is crudely built and it is almost better to stay in one of the abandoned cities. There is no protection against wild pokemon other than the cement walls that are just 2 inches thick and wooden doors. The homes have no windows and the houses are crammed with 5 people in each home. The goal of the survivors currently just to expand and make a better life out of what they have. Peace is there for now but will it last long.
All books except for BaD and DPDoM are in use. This does include the playtest packets. Characters will be level 8 to allow for some character development before story. Any class in the permitted books is up for grabs.
Players will have 5000 Poke to start with and it will only be useful at start. One simple weapon. You will also be given an item if your class features need them.
Players will have two pokemon. One will be level 15 and the other is level 10. One must be starter and the other can be any pokemon that is not legendary or psuedo-legendary. One can have a ™ for free and one can have an egg move according to the playtest packet rules.
Bargaining and finding stuff will be a big part of this game as characters will be set in large abandoned cities that have supplies. Someone may be in search for electric or mechanical parts to expand different things or they may just be looking for building supplies or simple amenities.
The five sky islands are Ilosia, Skylar, Montan, Verna, and Lisani. Each sky city has it’s own ruler but each have the same rules. No one city has more control than the others. Travel between the 5 is normal but no one goes to the land for any reason until now. There is no real difference between each city other than where they are as they are all about survival of the largest amount of people as possible. They see it as the people being sent to the lands have a 40% chance of survival if they stayed there is a high chance of cities falling due to weight limits or starvation due to food supplies being low(these two being Montan and Verna).
Illosia is the main electric making city. Other cities do have their own power plants but Illosia is the main supplier of energy. Illosia is ran by Lady Marrien who is 56 years old and has no tolerance for those who do not want to do their part. She is very strict on the rules about working.
Skylar and Verna are the technological advancing cities. Each has developed wonders for bettering the Sky Cities and making sure everything stays running as it should. Skylar is ran by Lord Tyrin who is 62 and he has no tolerance for thieves or those that make mistakes with technology. Verna also has a small portion of their population that does some building. Verna is lead by Lord Jessup who is 49. Lord Jessup has little love for his people at all and rules with an iron thumb. Any law breaking at all can result in a minimum of a week sentence in the jails.
The Sky CityPrison is located on Lisani which is the food growing city. The prisoners are used to work the farms and are overlooked by trusted non-prisoners. A few non-prisoners also work the farms. They also make the cheese, milk, and meat products for all of the Sky Cities. The leader of Lisani is Lady Temora who is 44 years old. She believes in hard work gets things done and gets the best results. Everyone tries to avoid the prison system as everyone who comes back speaks of the horrors. Prisoners are fed once every two to three days if they are lucky and then it is nearly inedible.
Montan is the Sky city that is mostly building and transportation orientated but they have their hands in everything. The leader is Montegue who is 67 and is very stict and believes in hard work being the way to get everything done in an efficient manner. He has no patience for those that are slow.
You can be sent to the prison system for stealing, not going to work, breeding pokemon without a license, trading outside of market day, having a non-permitted pokemon, or speaking against the leaders openly. The mandatory working age is between 13 and 75 years old. The only permitted time off excuses are: that you are extremely sick, City wide announcements, school tests that day, injured horribly while on the job and need recovery, and one day for the death of an immediate family member.
