Candi’s smile fades as she puts the lollipop back in her lunchbox. “Guess that says a lot about you…” She mutters. “Well, bye, then…”
The library is quite busy, plenty of students milling about getting books and using the computers. The librarian is sitting at his desk as well.

Zo sighs as he sees that the library is filled with people, and decides to hold off on all plans to see what occult books they had here until later. Instead, he is using his time to broaden his horizons a bit, so to say, to help him in his studies. Though he doesn't really read anything extensively, he takes a brief look through books on history, geography, Pokémon biology, basic electronics and some tech manuals, hoping to pick up at least some knowledge from his speed-reading.
Once it begins to near curfew, Zo returns the books he had used and heads back to his dorm, tired after a long (stupidly long, it felt) day.

Walking a bit into the forest, Zo looks around for Pokemon during his stroll, taking care not to stray too far from town. Unfortunately for the first fifteen minutes or so, he doesn’t see any Pokemon at all. There’s some rustling and cries, but when Zo looks, there’s nothing there. The sound of other new trainers battling could be scaring the Pokemon away, but Zo isn’t sure what’s keeping the Pokemon away, only that they aren’t there.

Zo is somewhat... surprised nothing showed up during his walk, and quickly checks the time on his Dex. seeing that he's got plenty of time left, he heads further into the forest, trying his best to remember the road he's taking so he wouldn't end up too lost. As Zo goes farther into the forest, he keeps the memory of the path he took close at hand. After a few moments of walking, he quickly finds himself surprised as two small rodents with red and yellow eyes stare up at him, obviously annoyed. Catching him off guard, the two Pokemon stare and scream at Zo, making him feel especially vulnerable. Zo is caught by surprise, skipping his first turn! Patrat 1 uses Screech on Zo! Zo’s Defense is lowered -2 CS! Patrat 2 uses Leer on Zo! Zo’s Defence is lowered -1 CS! Initiative Track:As always, Pokemon Edu DC of 5 to recognize the Patrats.

Zo startles as he's suddenly waylaid by two... rodents with oddly penetrating stares. Stares that, combined with unholy screeching, cause Zo to lower his defenses somewhat. Quickly, he releases Lipwig right next to the furthest one. "Lipwig, it appears we have a pest problem. Feint Attack, please!" Meanwhile, he casts a sleeping hex on the nearest rat, hoping to keep it out of the fight for now. Zo releases Lipwig as a Shift action Zo uses Hypnosis on Patrat 2, AC6: 18tR1Yl51d20+1 spending 1 ap, on a hit, the target falls asleep Lipwig uses Feint Attack on Patrat 1. Feint Attack cannot miss. Zo and Lipwig’s attacks both hit easily. Lipwig uses his claws, giving one of the Patrats two very visible scratches on it’s face. After Zo casts his hex, the other Patrat stumbles around a bit, eventually falling over, dead asleep. The awake Patrat moves behind it’s sleeping friend, shaking it awake. It then points to Lipwig, and the groggy Patrat runs into Lipwig, pushing the bird farther back into the woods and giving him a bruise on his chest in the process. I forgot to mention this last time so it doesn’t factor into anything you did last turn, but all of the trees and shrubs are Rough Terrain. Patrat 1 takes 2 injuries! Patrat 1 wakes up Patrat 2! Patrat 2 uses Tackle on Lipwig for 22 Normal Physical damage! Lipwig takes 1 injury!Initiative Track:

Zo bristles slightly as the rodent immediately wakes up his buddy. "Was that really necessary? Now I'm going to have to hurt you both." He cups up his right hand, forming small flames that lick at his fingers before he throws the small wisp to the nearest rat, trying to burn it. As he does so, he casts a disorientation hex on the other rodent, ruining its aim. He then quickly takes a step back and motions for Lipwig to attack the just awoken rat, the corvid complying by swooping in and viciously pecking it. In order: Zo uses Will-O-Wisp on Patrat 2, AC5: GhJhlq|J1d20+1, spending 1 AP. On a hit, the target is Burned, on a 19+, the target is Vulnerable for one full turn. Zo uses Omen on Patrat 1, lowering its accuracy by 2 Zo Disengages 1 up Lipwig moves over to the square 1 up and 1 right of Patrat 2 and uses Peck on Patrat 2, AC2: 1d20+1, DB6: 2d6+22 1d20+1·1d20+1·2d6+22

After Lipwig’s attack and Zo’s spells, the rats seem angry. The one Lipwig attacks gets a deep gouge on it’s side and a scratch. Running up to avenge it’s hurt friend, the other rat charges up and tackles Lipwig back into the trees. The force not only gives him a bruise, but the tree limbs he hits seem to break his wings, making Lipwig squawk in pain before he faints. Meanwhile, the rat Zo burned tries to tackle him as well, but Zo easily dodges out of the way. All of the trees and shrubs are Rough Terrain. Patrat 2 takes 2 injuries! Patrat 1 uses Tackle on Lipwig for 29 Normal Physical damage, fainting Lipwig! Lipwig takes 3 injuries!Initiative Track:

Zo easily dodges the burned rodent, before hearing a squawk and seeing Lipwig faint in the corner of his eye. "LIPWIG!" he shouts, followed by a choice series of curses (always risky for someone of his choice of study) before he sighs. "I'm going to have to use her, aren't I?" he mutters, before releasing Jewl over to his left somewhere. "Provide a distraction for a moment, please." The Spoink blinks, before jumping over to the nearest rat and kind of... flailing at it. Meanwhile, Zo has taken out an empty Pokéball, intent on capturing the rat right in front of him. He lobs it, praying to whatever deity is willing to listen that he'll hit and that the rat will stay in.Zo releases Jewl 2 squares to the right of him Zo tries to Capture Patrat 2. Zo’s Pokeball hits it’s target right on, and the ball almost immediately pings, confirming the capture. Meanwhile, Jewl’s flail hits, and somehow hurts the rat enough to scare it off, making it turn around and try to scurry away. All of the trees and shrubs are Rough Terrain. Patrat 1 Sprints away! Jewl has an Attack of Opportunity against Patrat 1!Initiative Track:If you choose to, Jewl may take an Attack of Opportunity against Patrat 1. Zo pants for a bit, grinning brigthly as he manages to catch one of the Pokémon and the others begins fleeing. "Let it go Jewl, it's not worth the effort." He walks over to the Spoink, patting her on the... pearl. "Thanks for the help little one." He walks over to Lipwig and scoops him up in his arms. "I'm sorry my friend. I'll get you fixed up in no time." He looks around, trying to remember the path he'd taken. He'd meet face to face when they weren't in a somehwat hostile environment.

Jewl oinks happily and follows Zo as he walks out of the forest, remembering the path he took from earlier. It’s about 7:30 by the time he gets out of the forest and back into town. Zo gains 15 EXP from the fight! At least half of this must go to Pokemon involved in the fight, but the rest may be distributed as you wish.

Zo quickly heads for the Pokécenter once he has reached town, dropping off Lipwig and his yet-to-be-named Patrat (as he had found out the rodent had been when checking its, or rather, her, specs on his Dex. Once he has done that, he returns to school, reasonably certain that by the time that he has arrived there, breakfast will have started.

Upon arriving at the library, Zo sees that it looks relatively normal. There a few people from class there, along with quite a few more he doesn’t recognize. The librarian is at his desk as well, and it looks like he’s finishing up his lunch. Walking around, he sees a few people wandering around, but no one really bothers him.

Zo looks around for a bit, strolling past the bookcases as if looking for something, before moving over to the librarians desk, surreptitiously looking to see where the flashdrive was. Perception to find the drive: gnT6VTL62d6+1 Spending 1 AP 2d6+1

Zo easily spots the flashdrive. It’s sitting on the counter next to a small, well-written folded piece of paper, stating, “Lost Flashdrive.” The librarian looks over from his computer, asking, “Do you need something?” as he spots Zo looking.

While modern libraries don’t have many pests, Wurmples, Caterpie, and Rattata used to be quite common. Today, though, most Pokemon don’t take up residence in inhabited buildings, unless they’re quite old with lots of places to hide and live undisturbed. Since modern buildings are usually kept quite well, pests like Wumples, Caterpie, and Rattata no longer infect libraries that much.
