I just wanted to give a little backstory: Ten years ago (ten years after the war) when little Arnie was only six years old, his father had just ticked him in and was reading him a bedtime story when a large ruckus could be heard in the main living area. First the boom of splintering wood; the front door being smashed in, followed by voices shouting and beastly snarls. What he could make out, or at least remember "Where is he?!" "...hide from us forever?" "...Liberty Scum..." His mother screamed. A thunder clap of a slap rung out. Mother was quiet. His father sprung up, hoisting Arnold into the air and tucking him under his arm. Moving quickly, he lifter the hatch in the floor where Arnie stored some of his plush toys. Placing the boy down he whispered soothingly, "Stay here, stay quiet." Seeing the fear in his son's eyes, Barric placed the silver chain from his neck, around his sons. "Keep this safe for me will ya buddy?" After a silent not from Arnie, Barric put a finger to his lips and closed the hatch. The clamor in the other room continued as Barric exited, closing the door silently behind him. Arnold could here more shouts and a struggle, then for a time all was quiet. The calm would not last, the men and beasts who came, began to ransack the quaint home. At one point, Arnie feared he'd be found, when something breathing heavily entered his room, casting a luminescence that seeped through the floorboards. The boy saw a leathery foot plant itself above him, but the creature, and the en moved on. The last thing he can recall vividly was his mothers voice pleading, "Don't take him!" followed by dragging sounds. For minutes; hours; a week; a year; all fell deathly silent, and there the boy sat. It wasn't until sound reentered his would that the boy stirred, a dull keening, building to a crescendo of sobs; his mother's weeping. Timidly he emerged from his past, the last place he ever had two parents. he made his way to his mother, seeing the side of her face red and swelling. Without words, she held the boy, and rocked, until the sun came up. In the years past, his mother would say little more than "my husband died in a home invasion." She refused to acknowledge his ties to the war, not like the stories his father would tell him. Perhaps she wanted to shield Arnold, perhaps, by now she convinced herself: her husband was dead, completely random, completely senseless. Annie didn't, press her, maybe she was right... but, he had all these memories... Arnie grew up peacefully after that, his mother never remarried, but they were happy, the two of them; well three, if you count Ponyta. Ponata was one of the few remaining remnants of his father. I was the child of his fathers Rapidash and Espeon; his primary companions. On sunny days Ponyta and the boy would run in the fields and bask in the warm rays. Arnie was always curious of the world around him, poking and prodding at whatever he found in nature. He was fixated with pokemon battles, watching the telecasts and, when they came to town, attending live tournaments. When he came of the age of sixteen, he decided it was time to see more of the world, and with some convincing, he gained his mothers blessing. So he set, with Ponyta, off to professor sycamore, and obtained a poked and a Froakie. Early into his adventure he came across the tail end of a skirmish with some uproarious wild pokemon. He stayed behind to aid the wounded people and pokemon alike, learning a thing or two along the way. As a show or gratitude, Arnie was gifted an egg by those he had aided. While hunting for new companions, Arnie was floundering, it was then he encountered and Abra. Fed up, and not believing he could catch anything he just lobbed a pokeball at it. Much to his surprise it wobbled for a third time, and the Abra was caught! Surprised it's only move was Teleport, Arnie was determined to bolster his new friend. After studying moves of the pokemon around him, along came a maneuver he was sure he could apply to Abra. When the egg hatched at last, a Ghastly appeared. Uncertain of where his journey would take him next, Arnold studied a bulletin board for a clue as to where his life would take him next...

This is a larger scale roleplay. While former players will have a place guaranteed, I will be taking new players, provided submissions are up to snuff.
Prism is fine to go for. Just remember that there may be IC ramifications and biases from various people and organizations (the Golden Link Order will dislike you more, for example).
Yes, you are hired by the organization to start. They are funding your "journey". As for religions, they serve a purpose of alternative meanings. Basically, a lot of people dislike the technological bent that is starting to develop in the region, and many of them turn to the spiritual side of things.
My Skype name hasn't changed ever, so it should pull me up. Send me your name, and I'll add you where needed. As for players accepted, this is a larger scale roleplay, so I'm not quite sure where the cutoff will be. I've got tons more time than I did in the past, so I will be accepting a larger number this time around. Eisen is going to be large enough to be a consistent setting, and I've spent much time getting everything set up for lots of players to dive in.

I'm interested in this, but I have a question. I want to play an Upgrader. What's the opinion/law on augmenting Pokemon? Would this be seen as illegal experimentation, or is it accepted? I might fluff the Pokemon that I already would have as having been very badly injured and therefore needing prosthetics, but for possible future Pokemon that might not work.

Hey, decided I should probably actually check in instead of just lurking on the sidelines. In the process of tweaking my sheet, but I had the idea of having a Corsola for El's main starter (maybe in addition to my Nidoran that I had in the first place) and wanted to run it by you. Felt a little weird not having a water type pokemon even though El's all about the ocean life, and it seems like the best fit for her.

Since Backpacker doesn't have the [Weapon] Tag, and doesn't gain it when you gain Wayfarer...
How much are Crude Weapons?
How much are Simple Weapons?

Any more information we could get on the various cities, even if it's just a sentence or two, and perhaps the views of the GLO and P/HLA on the supernatural/elementalist classes?

I know you have answered about religion but I would appreciate more details on that side of things. For instance:
1. How big are their religious organization of the listed legendaries in the "able-to-be-Touched" list? 2. Which Legendary has the most believers in the land? 3. What about the non-mainstream Legendaries? Do they have cults in the land? Not known and acknowledged of their existence? Be considered as "demons" and bad by the Eisen population? 4. Do they have special yearly religious festival(like Thanksgiving and such but different) in Eisen or maybe some sort of tradition related to the Legendaries? Both are signs of religion being a big part of the local's life? 5. How often can someone be Touched in the world? Will the God reward anyone zealous enough in their cause kind of like Cleric in D&D or are the Gods more selective in who to bless with their power?
------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really religion-based questions:
6. What is the world's perception on supernatural classes? Are psychic users "monsters" to the normal people? 7. What about occult-based classes like Hex Maniac? Are they demonic witches to the people?

It is accepted, but not as a popularly approved option. There is more support in favor of it now as the technology begins advancing more, but some more spiritual and conservative types might have issues. Case in point, it is perfectly doable, just know that, ICly, not everyone will like it.
Corsola is fine. It got a minor buff for Sun and Moon, and it's stats aren't the biggest thing around, so go ahead and add in the difference to it's base stats for free (+1 HP, +1 DEF, +1 Sp.DEF). It should still be an underdog.
Crude: 1000 Simple: 2000
Star Top Village A small and lazy town with a nearby meadow known for it's amazing views of the night sky and stars. Feels like the place adventures begin. Professor Connor Flik's lab is located here, and it is said that something special happens in the meadow once every thousand years...
Rustic Town A quaint community that dedicates itself to the old ways. Conservative and traditional, they also embrace the spiritual aspects of life, and disdain much of the progressive and technological stance that is overtaking the region.
Faire City A large and lawless metropolis quartered into four separate areas as a poorly functioning measure to reduce crime. The penultimate of seedy cities, one can find something shady going on almost anywhere they walk, with local gangs ruling the streets. The Fairy-type Gym is located here, and is also said to be run by the leader of the notorious "Plague Doctors, the largest gang in the city.
Tulidaisy Town A small town known for its impressive flower gardens that bloom year round, and the Grass-type Gym that serves as the second biggest tourist draw. There's also a small hydroelectric plant that powers almost everything the city uses solely on the fresh rivers running through the local flower fields. The locals love plants and nature quite a bit.
Crosspoint Village A small outpost with barely enough residents to be considered a village. Shabby rundown houses and rest spots conceal friendly faces that love to service visitors making the long trek from Tulidaisy Town to New Eve Village, or the trek from the eastern end of Mt. Finale, and Parr City.
New Eve Village A small village located within a series of valleys and mountains that trap clouds and fog while blocking the sun, leaving it always dark. The Ghost-type Gym is located here, as is a large Concert Hall, and several crypts and graveyards, most of which are closed to the public, though a few are available for travel.
Parr City A large and plain city known for being absolutely ordinary in every possible way. The Normal-type Gym can be found here, though a small and unofficial Electric-type Gym is seeking to replace it as begin a new wave of technological advancement.
Monoki Village A small seaside village that caters to travelers to and from the Noire Complex and Boardwalk Resort, whether by requisitioning boats to the island, or providing advice on navigating the treacherous bridge routes. Very traditional.
Noire Complex A dark military complex refashioned into a history museum / city. There is a perpetual storm over the island for reasons unknown, and the entire place is considered harsh and unforgiving, with nasty Trainers and lurking Wild Pokemon all waiting for a chance to strike. Home to the largest prison on Eisen, run by the Dark-type Gym Leader, who sees the gym as well.
Skyigh City A flying city (literally) that showcases the newest technology whenever it becomes available. Primarily divided into separate sections, the city's residents are similarly divided. The slums consisting of the outskirts are located on the marshy land below the city, while the city itself is flying above the marshy land. The Flying-type Gym can be found here. Very modern.
Brick Cliff Heights A small collection of coastal cliffside houses that draw collectors and thrill seekers who attempt to scale the cliffs without falling into the waters below.
Sectsect City A large and antiquated town that is known for it's canals, and it's abundance of parks. Celebrating bugs at least once a week, the city also hosts the best Bug Catching Competitions. The Bug-type Gym is located here, as is the Poke Ball Factory.
Boardwalk Resort A seaside island resort hotspot that draws plenty of tourists. The Resort has tons of beaches, hotels, and other attractions that make it the premier vacation spot in Eisen. The Water-type Gym is located here, doubling as a fully functioning water park. Cruises are available daily. Very modern.
Shore Glen A small village near the Boardwalk Resort home to a small Ocean Research Facility.
Coral Forest Reserve A collection of villages where the locals are dedicated to protecting the Pokemon of the sea.
Nueve Village A small and nondescript village that houses the only entrance to the routes leading to Victory Road and the Pokemon League, thus making it a highly traveled, if boring, village.
The Golden Link Order dislikes Supernatural / Elementalist types highly, viewing them as little better than Pokemon. The Pokemon/Human Liberation Alliance embraces and obbsesses over them, viewing them as an ideal of what the organization stands for.
1. They have the majority of followers, with a roughly equal spread across all of them, though Diancie's branch leads the way. 2. Diancie and Arceus are both split. 3. Cults do exist, they are viewed as being bad. 4. Yes. Religious traditions to exist, but most of the churches view them as optional. 5. Usually through choice meetings with the "God" in question, they will be gifted. They enjoy seeing devotion, but do use discretion. 6. To the conservative types, yes. To the progressive types, no. Most people will not swing either way. 7. They are considered scary or weird, but are not viewed as evil or anything.

Is there a document detailing the cities of the region? I'm planning on applying, but not with the character I had last time... Edit: I should probably go over the thread again next time, shouldn't I? XD Edit2: Here's my character, the cheery bug-catcher Horizon Lily. I'm sure there's plenty I should add to the backstory, but I can't think of any more right now.

Also can we get a basis synopsis how the deities are different from the splatbook?
Hmm, with the occult not being so weird or judged, I may change my build a bit. How common are supernaturals? Not sure yet, but imma go on and ask permission for Aura Guardian.

Well, here's my character, Mesa Hamilton, augmentation specialist and parkour artist. Edit: I changed my second Pokemon. It's now a Treecko. Mesa's background has been changed accordingly.

This took... slightly longer than anticipated. At any rate, presenting Shirin! Probably. A couple of things to note: First, hopefully not reclaiming by original applicant is fine? Second and more important, I don't know what sort of problems might arise from a Rune Master (or being one... or the process of becoming one...) so please let me know if anything doesn't jive? I think that's all, so cheers and welcome back!
