Chell, after somehow having succesfully landed on top of the robot, smirks victoriously as the Golurk fails to hit her or throw her off... that is, until a giant, shadow fist fades into being right next to her, heading straight at her! Briefly considering jumping off and away from the golem, she quickly realises the arm was moving way too fast to dodge, so she simply braces herself for impact and waits... and waits... and waits... Did that fist just phase through me? Well then... that's new... Useful, though, I supposeStill somewhat confused, Chell keeps clinging on, shaking to and fro to try and throw the golem off balance somewhat. Golurk opposing Acrobatics

The big one is rattled around by the brain-damaged bun bun, and seems to be a bit more sluggish.

Midna tries to not sigh audibly as the others show up to swarm the biggest golem. She's still baffled why she hadn't been able to hurt it her second try. Well at least Chell seemed to be keeping it busy but trying to topple it with the rabbit on top might end with a flat bunny. Midna continues to stay at range and rather than try and topple the golem again, she tries a different tact. "Looks like you're servants are crumbling around you. Think you'll fare better?" She chimes in an oversweet tone. Leer- to lower Def on the off chance this is still going. Cone 2, friendly Ac 2 vs CbrOAGf51d20

As Midna succeeds in hurting the big one's feelings, the ants begin to attack. They all kick dirt up in the golem's face, hoping to obscure it's vision! The attacks land their mark, and as the sand obscures it's vision, you almost see it sigh, as if to say 'Welp, if this is going down like this...' He squats down (With Chell still on it's head no less), and forms into... a ball? Before Chell gets to question why her new mount is doing these things, he begins rolling like a runaway ball! Things were going so well, Freya briefly considered showing the brute mercy. It was outnumbered, its underlings dead... and facing off against her fellows, who didn't seem like the mercy granting type, so far. It was a monster, too. She'd kill them by the dozens before today and hadn't even thought twice about it.... So she stretched her wings, flew clear of the clumsy rolling attack, and pelted him with another gust of wind. Maybe if it thought to surrender once it saw how hopeless things were for itself. Freya shifts two meters right and three meters into the air and uses another Guster fueled Struggle Attack.

Chell, though rather surprised the stiff-looking golem was rolling up, she still somehow managed to dodge the attack, whilst staying on the Golurk too to boot. I'm awesome[/i] at this whole dodging malark![/i] Quickly recovering from her state of self-praise, Chell gets back to business, ramming her foot into a spot on the back of the Golurk's head that seemed to be just right. When facing an enemy who was all but immune to your attacks, it was important to review one's options. It looked like this ragtag group was just as limited as he was, but some of their own attacks had... more effect. Perhaps if he distracted the colossus while they kept at it, they would be able to bypass such a sturdy guard? Well, it was worth a shot, probably. That in mind, Hura backed up, waited until the Golurk's eye...things were on him, and glared a leer most intimidating. Leer on Golurk. AC2 - XRdnVgGp1d20 Lowers defense by -1 CS. 1d20

The two successful attacks from Freya and Chell manage to finally start winding this thing down. It falls to a knee, but stands back up in a righteous fury. It's had just about ENOUGH of the bunny on top of it's head, but sees the aerial target as the one hurting more at the moment. It launches another ghostly fist at Freya. Midna winces as the golem punches again. Luckily it doesn't connect with her. Unluckily it collides bodily with Freya as she hurls wind at it. Well at least it wasn't Midna taking the hit. As bat begins to tumble from the sky Midna sighs. She couldn't just let the bat take a header. She reaches out and tries to catch the battered form. It's not like she could do much to giant anyways. She sees the other to the ground before turning back towards the golem. Hopefully it wouldn't take the opportunity to pummel her next.

It was ironic, than, that the last conscious thought she had before shadow slammed into her was about mercy. Freya plummeted without so much as a surprised screech, looking more than a little bloodied and battered, but still alive. Freya's KOed with 2 injuries.

Well then! This was why numbers were important, with enough the big bad enemy just wouldn't know who to target. Not so, in this case, and since this pathetic body lacked wings... or even good jumping legs, Hura couldn't even do his job. He could peck at the giant, though. Perhaps he's find a way past the boulder-y exterior, and hit something vital? Hura uses Peck on Golurk. AC2 - QO|JNG0H1d20 DB4 - 1d8+15 Physical Flying damage 1d20·1d8+15

Frank moves in before the ants even get a second shot, and tears the arm off the big one. The golem falls to one knee, planting it's fist in the ground. It's clearly done. It looks up at the group, and you guys start hearing a beeping from inside it's chest. It's eyes light up in tandum with the voice coming from deep within it's chest. "Welcome to my island, kiddos." Then the world turns white as the now apparent bomb in the golem's chest goes off, alongside all the smaller ones. Everyone (Save for Freya, who jumped the gun on this whole 'unconscious' thing) gets blown back and dazed. Fighting to stay conscious, you see glimpses of all the lumber ants coming over, and picking you all up, and taking you all out of the clearing north into the forest once again. A few minutes pass of your dazed mind finally settling back into a place that doesn't want to make you vomit, and you find that you've been settled on the ground, and your wounds have had a little treatment. And when you look up to see why it's been treated at all, you find a group of the metal ants, some watching the nearby trees, and some waiting on you. When you all begin to stir, the ones looking at you look over to a single ant, with apparent burn marks all over it's body. Embers seem to still glow in them. He scuttles over to you all. "Good. You are awake now. It is a blessing that the chest burster 'he' made is only strong enough to kill those enslaved and not anyone else." Altogether too close to the bomb for comfort, Hura spends what few seconds remained cursing such a flimsy body. Why, to think of what the others would have said if they saw him dispatched so quickly! Fortunately, there wasn't time to get into that before coherent thoughts stopped flowing.
Much, much more worrying was when Hura returned to any semblance of rational thought, and felt a sense of alarm coming from the depths of his stomach... It was one thing to threaten his body, he'd heal that off soon enough, but to threaten a Sura's stomach? The impudent fools! They would (have) payed dearly for such an insulting attack... If he wasn't lower than the lowest Upani... if not Mara. By the time Hura had it in his head to get incensed about his nausea, though, it had worn off.
Promptly forgetting his rage, mostly because what looked like 'the boss' was coming over, Hura asks, "Hmm. Hmm! Does that mean those were your... Your...? Rabbits...? Oh! Those were your 'row bots', but someone else made them? Haha, I kinda want to meet whoever was responsible for making something that could handle a whole swarm! Not every day you meet someone so impressive, ya'know? Oh, but, I guess it wasn't him so much as his creations... Whatever, where is this genius inventor!"
"...oh, and was this your island? Uh, nice place? Do... do you have something against trees? I mean, you've got all these guys cutting them down, and it looks like you might've had an unfortunate incident with a forest fire or something, so I guess getting rid of them makes sense... But what if a bird comes around? There's nowhere to hide! Anyways, I'm Hura. Delighted to make your acquaintance, maybe-King of the Island." Confident his greeting had gone well, Hura then sits back. It was too soon after that big explosion to be doing a proper diplomatic exchange...

Midna barely manages to guide Freya to the ground before the golem speaks up. The voice didn't sound like it was truly the golem's but some master hiding behind it. "Who're you calling a kid you..." Unfortunately whatever insult had been on the tip of her lips fizzles as the golem explodes. How did Link manage to tank several of these? The thought flutters with her consciousness.
She rouses to one of the ants finally saying something. And then Hura droning on and on, leaving her head splitting. All she can do is try and massage her temples as she formulates an actual good question. "Never mind all that. Who is 'he'? Was he the one that had you enslaved or whatever?" She asks uncertain if those questions even make sense. She then grasps at another one, "Where are we."

The 'leader' shakes his head.
"They were not of our family. They were on this island, sleeping, for a long time. Until the Masked Man woke them up, and did things. Made them our oppressors. Made us cut down wood. To build his..."
He turns to one of the smaller younger ones.
"What did 'he' call it?"
The little one's eyes squint as it tries to think.
"Scary Mask Man call it 'Boat'!"
"...his 'boat' then. He dreams of escape, and hopes that creating this will get him through the storm. It will not. But we suffer for his arrogance. And I am not owner of this island, Hura. That would be whatever lives in the mountain that controls islands and abducts strange beings here."
He looks off through the trees toward the imposing mountain for a moment.
"You gave your name. I am known as Ember-Shell. Thank you for fighting off those rock men. Whatever trickery or magic that gives their stones life also makes it impossible for our Durant kind to attack them. I am one of the few that can, but only a few scattered guard cannot take down so many."
One of the younger ones Midna looks at answers her.
"We not take you far! Nowhere to go but hide in forest!"

Frank stands, dusting himself off before approaching the leader ant. "Well Embershell, it is a pleasure to meet something on the island that doesn't want to kill us. So, you're saying that your tribe is not the only one that is enslaved, then? And this Masked Man is behind it all? Is he using magic or technology to bind these golems to his will? Where is he located?"
However, when Ember-Shell mentions the creature in the mountain, Frank changes tracks entirely. "What do you know about the thing in the mountains? About why we were brought here? About how we can leave?"

"... How are you speaking to us?" Freya groaned. She'd had a wing over her left eye and had been intermittently groaning all throughout Hura's storm of questions, but now she tried to ask her own with a modicum of dignity.
"Can all of you... beasts? Monsters? All of your kind manage it? We were accosted by a small pack of spiders earlier and diplomacy seemed the furthest from their minds. Or perhaps they were more slaves acting against their will...."

"Not were we are but where we gah..." Midna snaps at the smaller ant, "I mean what is this island called? Where is it?" She pauses for a moment before adding sharply, "And don't just say the sea!"
As for any other questions she might have. Well, Frank covered them. Rather directly but she wasn't in the mood for trying to wheedle other answers out of the ants.
