Smiles very widely at the sight of Eli being so close to the ball. "Awesome, awesome, awesome! Now, we're almost done, all I need you to do, Spheal dude, is right up in front of Eli. Once you're there, I need you to make out the small little ball in front of her, it'll kind of look like the ball you have a home in and such. I need you to take Eli's hand and with you're little flippers and guide it to the ball. I know that's all a bit complicated, but if I could get you to do that for me I'd love you for, like, ever, Spheal dude."Trying to get Alissa to get Eli to pick up the ball, using an untrained charm roll: KY8VAZBr2d6+2 2d6+2

Alissa pulls through for the last stretch and follows Eli. It takes her a minute, but she’s able to guide Eli’s hand to the ball with her flippers. Eli’s easily able to find it and picks it up. “Good job! Let’s go get her out of there, then.” Ren smiles, congratulating you. He leads you back out to the hallway and then he walks into the maze room, turning on the lights as he does. After a minute or two, Alissa and Eli come back out. “That wasn’t too bad!” Eli remarks. “You both did great!” Ren goes over to the door of the rec room and escorts you both back in. He then points and gestures to Zo and another girl you don’t really recognize, leading them out of the room. Congratulation! You’ve completed the maze, so you can move back to the group thread. If you want to do any fluff or anything, feel free to post!

As Dakota drags Greg downstairs with Maria doing her best to bounce along behind the two, he asks, “Where did you want to go? I know there’s a little forest in town, and there’s mountains too, and we can always just look around in town too!” In your next post please include the area you’re going to be looking in along with a 1d100 roll for searching.

Dakota nods, and continues leading Greg and Maria outside. With their quick pace, they reach the fenced off forest in town in close to 15 or 20 minutes. As they enter the forest, the group slows their pace because of the heavy snowfall and dense shrubbery. It isn’t long before they all spot a white furball with a long curved tail and snout and small, bipedal, pink and white thing with “blonde hair” and a large mouth. The white thing looks to be teasing or at least annoying the pink one, as it’s beating it’s chest and making noises at the pink one. The pink one has it’s back turned to the white ball, and does seem a little upset. Dakota stops Greg, and leans over with excitement in his eyes. “What should we do!? Do we interfere!?”All of the trees and shrubs are Rough Terrain (Taiga).

Greg scratches the back of his head as he thinks over the situation. On one hand, that blond dude looked like it was in trouble, but on the other hand it was probably best not to interfere with nature if Greg or his partners won’t getting a direct benefit from it. Plus, for some unknown reason Greg seemed to have an intense dislike of the blond Pokemon. Weird. “I don’t think we should.” Greg said to Dakota in a hushed tone of voice, trying is best not to be noticed by the two wild Pokemon. “Like, I don’t really want to catch these dudes, and this is just nature doing it’s thing. If you want to catch either of these dudes or whatever, we can, like, get up in there, but otherwise let’s just leave them be.”New search roll: YHwpE7gD1d100 Stealth roll in case we need to do that: 2d6 1d100·2d6

“Oh, okay…” Dakota seems a bit uncomfortable with Greg’s answer, but he continues on. “If you say so... “A few minutes of trekking through the cold, snowy, forest later and the group comes across another group of Pokemon. Three Pokemon that look like small potted trees are huddling together, probably to conserve warmth. Dakota once again whispers to Greg. “What about these ones?”All of the trees and shrubs are Rough Terrain (Taiga).

Greg let out a low sigh at the sight if these new Pokemon. Stranger looking plant dudes definitely wouldn’t do, and Greg was starting to worry that he was wasting both his and Dakota’s time. “Yeah, no, they aren't going to work.” Greg said in a defeated sounding whisper, opting to back away from the Pokemon before until they were out of earshot of them. “Yeah, sorry about this, Dakota, I know this has been kind of a wash and such, and that’s lame. If you want to head back to the dorms that’s cool, I’m going to take one more little poke around the forest before getting some R and R myself.”Regardless of whether or not Dakota stuck with him, Greg recalled Maria to try to keep her warm and made one last sweep of the forest. He was more looking for a water source than anything else, even if there won’t any Pokemon around it he could always come back later and look again. Dakota seems a bit disappointed, but nods. “Oh, alright...I’ll um, I’ll help! Maybe we can find something super cool!”After thirty minutes, Greg and Dakota come across a large lake. Because it’s a stagnant pool of water, it’s frozen over, but there’s a large hole in the lake. Perhaps some of the locals like ice-fishing? Dakota seems a bit amazed by the discovery, and taps the ice with his foot, clearly a bit scared to step on the ice with his full weight. It is now 8:00 PM!
So, I didn’t know if Greg is going to try to fish now or just look for Pokemon around the lake, so I didn’t use the encounter roll. For the next encounter (this day) I’ll use that roll, but fishing requires other fun fun rolls, so I figured I’d let you choose before using the roll if you wanted to fish instead.

Greg smiles as he sees the lake come into view. It was a beautiful lake, and the frozen environment added a certain charm to it. The fishing hole was just gravy. Greg set down his backpack and pulled out his fishing gear, attaching some bait to the line before walking out to the hole in the middle of the lake. “You can poke around some, Dakota.” Greg said to his companion as he walked onto the lake, not really bothering to check for cracks in the ice. “I’m going to check the waters, heh.”Once Greg made it to the hole in the lake he sat down, trying to get as comfortable as possible, and lowered his bait into the hole. It was a different sort of experience, but Greg got use to it pretty quickly. He also let Maria out, mostly because Greg figured she would want to explore this new environment. As Greg puts his pole into the water, Dakota sits next to him, observing what the older boy does, occasionally asking a few questions about fishing. Maria pokes around at the edge of the hole, enjoying being close to the water. It doesn’t take long for Greg to feel a tug on his line, which he easily pulls up. He sees a large tongue and purple shell clamped around his bait. Dakota backs up a bit and says, “Ooh! A Shellder!”Soon after that, two small blue eels swim up as well. After looking around, they look a bit annoyed and start splashing around, obviously agitated. “I think those Barboach want to battle! Do you mind if I catch one?” Dakota exclaims, throwing out Willow. As if in response, the Barboach does a bit of dance in the water, seeming to get stronger and faster as it does so. Dakota moves next, focusing on Willow. “Don’t be too worried Willow! I know you can do it!” Willow does not, in fact, look worried. The blue square is water, and in that area Pokemon and Trainers must use their Swim capability to move. Barboach 1 used Dragon Dance! Dakota applied Focused Training on Willow!Initiative Track:- Barboach 1

Greg lets out a happy, excited smile when he sees the Shellder, a quick jolt of shock running through his face when the Barboachs showed up before returning the same smile. “Hey, look at all these water dudes!” Greg said ecstatically as he grabbed a Pokeball with his right hand, still hanging onto the rod. “And yeah, you can nag one, Dakota! Not like they're mine anyhow, yet, heh.”Greg swung the Shellder to one side as he quickly looked over the situation, before giving his Pokemon a command as the Shellder swung back into its original position. “Maria, splash them with a cool bubble! Make it extra big”As Maria performed her attack, Greg lightly chucked a Pokeball at the clam that was on his line with a simple underhand throw, trying his best to angle the shot in such a way that the ball landed on the ice. Maria uses Bubble, activating Flood! to change it's range into Close Blast 2, hitting all the Pokemon in the hole. Maria’s bubble strikes true, and while the Shellder doesn’t seem too worried, the two Barboaches have gotten two very visible bruises on each from the impact of the bubbles. Greg’s Pokeball hits the Shellder, but it bursts open, dropping the ball into the lake below. After receiving the go-ahead from Greg, Dakota throws a Pokeball at the first Barboach, but aims too high and misses it. The second Barboach doesn’t seem to appreciate Maria’s attack and gets out of the water, ending up flopping around on dry land. It flicks some of the mud it has on itself (probably from living in the mud at the bottom of the pond) at her, and it seems to get in Maria’s eyes, affecting her vision. The Shellder then gets off of Greg’s line and swims back towards Willow. At releases a cry, and while Maria doesn’t seem too affected by it, she does seem a bit distracted. Willow, taking advantage of her position, surprises the Shellder by hitting it with a black cloud-like thing that seems to be de of the same material as most of body. The cloud quickly dissipates, but the Shellder is left with a bit of a burn. The first Barboach also gets out of the water, and after seeing Willow hurt the Shellder it turns to face her. It copies the attack that the other Barboach did, but it’s only a glancing hit on Willow, and she really doesn’t seem too bothered. Barboach 1 gains 2 Injuries! Barboach 2 gains 2 Injuries! Barboach 2 used Mud-Slap on Maria for 18 Special Ground Damage! Maria’s Accuracy is lowered by 1! Maria’s Accuracy is lowered by 2 because of Shellder’s Supersonic! Gregory lets out a gasp as he see’s Maria take a hit. “Not cool, not cool at all!” He said in a bit of shock as he readied another Pokeball, giving Maria a command to bubble the open water once more. This time Greg put the full weight of his body behind his throw, taking the basic ball behind his head before throwing out a classic baseball pitch right at the Barboach across the water. Maria uses Bubble, activating Flood! to change it's range into Close Blast 2, hitting the Shellder. When Maria’s bubble pops on the Shellder, it’s shell closes shut and it sinks back down into the lake. Greg’s Pokeball hits the Barboach, and it shakes twice, then dings, confirming the capture. Willow moves next, and she stares down the remaining Barboach. Two brown orbs start to materialize around her, then fly towards the Barboach. They miss completely, landing harmlessly in the snow. Scared off by the battle, the Barboach runs off towards land, but doesn’t get too far. Dakota then moves towards it, throwing another Pokeball at it. This time, it hits, and it dings before it even hits the ground. Going over to collect his Pokeballs, Dakota starts talking to Greg again. “Boy, that was a lot of fun! Do you want to try and catch some more, or go back to the dorm? Either way, we should do this more often!”

Greg smiled as the Pokeball clicked shut, doing a small little victory dance (which was more just his fist pumping the air) after all the wild Pokemon were defeated. He walked over and claimed his new Pokemon, looking over at Maria as Dakota talked. “Umm, Maria’s looking a little hurt.” Greg said as he picked up his old Pokemon, wiping off a bit of the mud still on her. “We can always, like, come back some other time to look for more water dude. Plus, it’s like, super late, we should get back. But, like, I’d love to look for some other Pokemon dudes with you, sounds like fun.”

Walking over to the lake, Greg notices a girl and a slick, orange Pokemon killed up beside her. The girl is sitting by the edge of the hole, rod cast in front of her, bundled up in a hat, gloves, and the school’s thick, down jacket. Seeing Greg, the girl waves, waiting for him to sit down for her to start talking. “Heyo! Your Horsea is real cute, and I’m sure my Buizel would agree if she wasn’t tired out from taking a swim. Do you go to Olmia too?” She asks, making a bit of small talk. After a few minutes she quickly introduces herself as Anna and her Buizel as Raina. It doesn’t take long for Greg to fish up a Pokemon. It’s a small blue and black tadpole-like Pokemon with a little fin and a tan face. Out of fear, it blows a bubble that pops on Greg and Maria, slightly hurting them. It flops around enough to get off the hook and swims over towards Anna and Raina. “Do you want us to help with that?” Tympole uses Bubble on Greg and Maria! It does 16 Special Water Damage to Greg, and 18 Special Water Damage to Maria!Initiative Track:- Tympole

- [Raina]

Greg smiled as he noticed the girl at the lake, happy to see someone else interested in fishing. He was happy to have a bit of company, and the girl seemed nice enough. “Heh-heh, thanks.” Greg said as Anna finished her introductions, noticing the tired out Bruiz. “Your Pokemon looks super cool, by the way, that orange is wicked awesome looking. He’s probably super fast too; probably could even beat Maria in a swim off competition. Anyways, I’m Greg, and my Horsea dudette is Maria, nice to meet you! And, umm, yeah, I go to Olmia. Just came out here to get some early fishing in.”Greg was pretty happy to have company today. He wasn’t use to fishing with a Pokemon, let alone another person, and Dakota just kind was there, so he didn’t really count. Anna, on the other hand, was pretty engaging, (if only due to a shared hobby between the two), and Greg found himself switching attention between her and his fishing pole a lot. Luckily Greg noticed when his line had a bite, getting on his feet and pulling it in to reveal a cool looking Pokemon. He hardly had a moment to think, though, as this tadpole quickly splashed Greg and Maria with a surprisingly painful bubble, Greg letting out an “Ouch!” in response to it, although he quickly laughed off the attack. “Quick little fella, ain’t he?” Greg said as he readied himself for battle, raising his eyebrow at Anna’s question. “And, umm, we should be able to take him, I think. As quick as this water dude is Maria should be able to occupy him.” Normally Greg would be pretty open to getting some help, but right now he felt like doing it on his own for some reason. Greg wasn’t sure why, he just wanted to beat this thing on his own. “Watch out, though, wouldn't want you or your Pokemon to get, like, soaked or anything as a result of the fight. Trust me, it ain’t fun, heh…”Greg took a few steps back, not wanting to get splashed by another bubble again as he ordered Maria to give it her all, telling her to swim right next to the wild Pokemon and show it her bubble! Greg moves back 3 tiles away from the water and uses Fishbowl Technique on Maria, allowing her to use moves and abilities as if she was in rain, binding 2 AP. Maria moves into the water next to the Tympole and uses Bubble on it, adding +5 to damage from rainy weather (Fishbowl Technique) and +5 to damage from Torrent: Maria used Bubble! | AC: | EsrbQsXt1d20 | Type: | Water | Frequency: | At-Will | Damage: | 2d6+30 | Crit: | 4d6+58 | Damage Category: | Special | Range: | Burst 1 | Effects: | Bubble lowers the target's Speed by -1 CS on 16+. |

“Aye-aye captain!” Anna says, propping her pole up and taking a few steps back. She whistles, waking up Raina. When the Buizel sees the tadpole, she reflexively growls and looks ready to dive in and start attacking the thing herself.
“C’mon Raina, it’s their fight not your’s, you silly rascal you!” Anna says with a laugh. Raina reluctantly walks over to Anna, a bit annoyed she can’t fight too. Maria’s blows a bubble using the cold lake water, but the tadpole easily dodges it, letting the bubble pop harmlessly, leaving only a slight ripple in the water. The Tympole takes the opportunity to swiftly swim to Maria’s side and uses the water to send a pulse that slams right into Maria. Even though she’s quite at home in the water, it still causes a few of her scales to come off, revealing the bruised skin underneath. Tympole uses Water Pulse on Maria for 12 Special Water Damage! Maria takes 1 Injury!Initiative Track:
