Silas meets the stare of the menacing chimera. With the intelligence behind its eyes, the location it appeared, the way it stopped to analyze the situation, this is not a mere beast. But in that case, what does it want? What filled it with hate? His finely honed intuition suggests that just asking wouldn't do much right now. Silas directs his voice back toward the rest of the group, but doesn't take his eyes off of the enemy. "Then we begin. He won't stay caged for long."

"Right." Bree doesn't wait any longer; she releases Mercenary at her side, the ghost pokemon giggling ominously as it stares back at the Silvally with a playful smile. "Hold til your orders, Merce, we want to have as little destruction to this place and as few casualties as possible."
She's caught off-guard by the psychic energy coming from their ally's blade; she hadn't expected other elementalists to be so... open about their powers. She's partially irritated and part resigned, her memory briefly returning to the condition her brother is in back home, but she pushes it away and focuses on the problem at hand. She slowly lets go of her own weapon, allowing it to float an inch from her palms, and takes a deep breath.

While Thoron wasn't especially concerned with what happened to an illegally modified den of criminals or those who lurked inside, they would want to deal with it cleanly. After some consideration, he released Lowe nearby as they began to approach.
Before that advance, though, Thoron had reviewed their assets. Their newest Technician brandishing a free-floating weapon demanded a few seconds more consideration than expected, before finally refocusing on the topic at hand.

Austin glances at Bree pulling out a blade, followed by an approving nod, but he then turns his attention to the task at hand, releasing his own Pokémon, the cold form of the Bergmite appearing in front of him. Silas' prediction certainly comes true, almost instantly. The Silvally seems to have finished with its first prey, and begins to head towards the Technicians. It takes two swipes of its claws - and much protesting metal - to create an opening large enough for it... but then it's free. It strolls out, locking eyes with the Technicians, looking malicious, but unconcerned. The area seems to have cleared out quite a bit, with only Ethan still around - hugging the back wall, yet with an air of morbid curiosity. The Silvally is followed by the rest of its posse, everything easily making their way through the egress it made. The released Pokémon of the Technicians seem to give them momentary pause, but they soon continue their advance. Fortunately, you have a bit of a chokepoint in the form of stairs... unfortunately, the opponents seem to have a fair amount of vertical mobility. MapPut yourselves and your Pokémon anywhere within the dark section of map. That area is elevated, and is 2m above the lightest section of the map. The middle tone is stairs.
Because of the height, angle, and railing to stop people from falling off, ground-level attacks from below have -2 to hit vs. targets on the upper level (but not the stairs).

Due to his focus on his largest foe and a coincidence of his position, Silas doesn't see Bree's combat preparations. Instead, he moves closer to the stairs and positions Sera to attack from above. She's not the type to take hits from those deadly claws, after all. Though based on her previous display, he wouldn't think she's the type for combat either. Perhaps this fight will let him understand the Psychic-type a little better. Silas starts at K4.
Gardevoir starts at I7.

The Silvally's distraction had been spent, and the hodgepodge itself was looking for the next. Thoron had taken up position further toward the back, while Lowe moved to meet his newest opponents at the stairs. It was (nominally) the path of least resistance... Thoron to (same position), H3.
Lowe to L6.

"Let's see if we can keep them busy from above," Bree calls to Mercy as they both move towards the rails. She eyes the pokemon and the stairs; who knew what those strange beasts could accomplish? With a quick curse she hopes that her partners either recognize them, or failing that, are able to take care of melee fighting. Bree starting @ B6. Mercy starting @ D6.

As the Technicians move into position, the Silvally does its screech-roar again, the sound echoing through the area. Almost everyone seems to have abandoned the arena at this point, not really stupid enough to stick around after the beast's display. Map

Sera observes the area, focusing a portion of her power on the largest threat. The enemies are still far away, so she focuses her mind, preparing for the impending chaos of battle. Sera uses Forwarn on Silvally.
Sera uses Calm Mind.

Sera stands there, calmly, though Silas is able to see a small build up of psychic energy within the Gardevoir. There's a brief flash of white, as everyone sees a slight vision, of the Silvally's claws glowing with energy and it swiping forwards. That isn't what the Silvally does, though, the giant beast darting forwards towards the stairs - and Technicians - with surprising speed, its mouth crackling with several types of energy. As it runs forwards, it unleashes those at Lowe, the Luxio getting hit just as it takes position on the top of the stairs. Mercy delays to initiative 10. The group is Forewarned of Silvally's Multi-Attack. It gets -2 Accuracy for the Scene. Lowe takes 37 damage from Tri-Attack.

In a word, the sudden vision had been distracting. A slight misstep, one could say. In the wake of the premonition, the Silvally had charged up and unleashed an attack on Thoron's Pokemon... Rather quicker than the Technician had anticipated. Still - recoiled for just a brief moment, Lowe shook himself off and approached the much larger beast in kind. Perhaps he planned on biting the Silvally's ankles menacingly. By then recovered, Thoron approached the stairs and observed the aggressor. Thoron uses Focused Training (Orders) on Lowe and Chronicles the Silvally. (-1 AP) New position: M4
Lowe shifts to M11 and uses Bite on Silvally. AC2 - BE3snYPe1d20+2 (Flinch on 17+) DB6 - 2d6+27 Physical Dark damage 1d20+2·2d6+27

Lowe lunges at the Silvally, chomping at it. He gets a good grip before releasing, but the chimaera hardly seems to be bothered. It does take time to look down at Lowe, though, almost as though wondering what dare attack it. Behind it, the floating ball goes up a little bit higher, essentially getting onto the level of the raised platform, before darting forwards. The humanoid bird does much the same, hovering behind and above the Silvally, looking over those beyond. Lowe hits with Bite. The Ball Sprints. The Bird Sprints. Map

Bree watches the pokemon approach curiously, flinching back as the biggest one laid into her teammate's pokemon with a strange tri-colored blast. She shifts closer, aware and frustrated that the thing had stopped outside of her range-- but Mercy wouldn't have the same problem, surely. "Hit the big one with a Psybeam," she instructs her pokemon, preparing to block an incoming attack for her partner if needed. "Let's see what its defenses are like!"Bree -> Commander's Voice, Focused Orders as a Shift Action on Mercy. She moves to F7, moves her sword out to I10, and casts Barrier from F8 to I8.
Mercy moves to J8 and uses Psybeam on Silvally. ljzeNYND1d20+2 (19+ confuses) for 2d6+45 special psychic damage. 1d20+2·2d6+45

A barrier of psychic energy quietly thrums into existence, as Mercy moves over and blasts the Silvally. Hard. It seems to stumble around a bit, a little disoriented. While the Silvally looks to be thrown off balance, the things on foot behind it are still implacably coming forwards. The reprieve before battle is joined in earnest is about to be over. Mercy hits Silvally with Psybeam. A critical hit! Silvally is confused. The Warrior uses Swords Dance. The Bug Sprints. Map

Silas move a few steps forward and pauses. Lowe hasn't taken enough damage to be worth healing yet, and the other enemies are just out of range of his chemical weapons. He puts a hand on each of his options, preparing for the fight's next developments. Meanwhile, Sera notices the strength of Mercy's psychic power. She closes her eyes to focus, allowing her malleable nature to gain new strength. Opening them them, she unleashes a mighty blast at the Silvally.... only for the energy to go wide. Silas moves J6.
Sera moves to J7. Sera activates Trace, copying Mercy's Sorcery. Sera uses Psychic on Silvally! AC 2: 3 DB 11: 71

As the Silvally rushes closer, Austin glances over at the other Technicians, before gesturing to his own Pokémon and pointing towards the stairwell in a line fashion. The Pokémon seems to understand, and begins to follow him as he calmly walks out right up to the Silvally, weapon at the ready, a silvery sheen appearing on his exposed skin. The skittering ice Pokémon stops a little bit away, instead focussing on doing something similar to Bree, raising a defensive barrier to block the stairwell, and defend the squishier trainers and Pokémon... at least for now. Following the construction of the barricade, Mercy and Sera both fire psychic emanations at the Silvally. Mercy has the better position and hits the beast, causing it to roar in pain, while Sera's attack goes wide. The Silvally, finally getting its bearings again, makes a rapid succession of quick strikes at Austin and Lowe, its claws glowing with a variety of different colours. Austin meets the attack head on, barely budging despite the blow. Lowe isn't quite so well-adjusted to taking blows, but fails to fall, ready to strike back. Austin uses Iron Defense. Bergmite uses Barrier. Mercy hits with Psybeam. Sera misses with Psychic. Austin is hit with Tri Attack. Lowe takes 37 damage and an injury from Tri Attack. Silvally snaps out of its confusion. Map

From behind their barriers, Thoron directed Lowe to strike the Silvally. Being, quite obviously, the most dangerous entity on the field, he kept a look out for any other openings they might exploit. Lowe was indeed not faring well. Even so, he growled a warning to the encroaching bird, attention still rightly focused on the Silvally. Understanding and very much disliking not being the top predator right now, he charged briefly and dashed back into the fray, compensating for the difference in power with a much more reckless attack. Thoron uses Battle Conductor (Swift), Complex Orders (Shift) and Commander's Voice (Standard) Thoron applies Reckless Advance to Lowe and Focused Training (Orders) to Lowe, Bergmite and Austin (in order of priority)
Lowe uses Spark on Silvally and holds position. Lowe also uses Intimidate (Swift) on the Bird. AC2 - PaizrJ6O1d20+1 (Focused Training Orders not applied) DB8 - 2d8+37 Physical Electric damage 1d20+1·2d8+37

Lowe, unfortunately, is still off balance, and doesn't manage to hit any weak spots on the Silvally, who bats the Luxio aside effortlessly. The Silvally roar-screeches at the bird, who seems to understand, as it begins to fly quickly, bypassing the melee below to alight on the upper platform, on the other side of Bergmite's barrier. The ball, meanwhile, crackles with purple electricity as it prepares for an attack. Bree unfortunately, isn't in the best position, the barrier she put up blocking most of her ability to fight. She does manage to squeeze in the gap with Mercy, though, firing off a blast of psychic energy at the Silvally. The beast roars at the blast, the ear-splitting screech echoing around. As it does so, the crystalline protrusions on its crest begin to ominously shimmer a variety of different colours, before settling back down at clear. The armoured warrior wastes no time, though, getting up to Austin, and delivering a vicious blow to him. The Technician manages to deflect the swords with his own weapon, but that seems to tire him out. On the other side of the Silvally, the Bug quickly advances towards Lowe. Austin's bergmite skitters along the ground, before unleashing a freezing blast of wind at the bug and Silvally. It isn't the strongest - in fact, neither of the targets so much as blink - but, quickly, a hard layer of ice forms over the bug and Silvally. While the Silvally manages to throw off the greater part of it, the bug doesn't seem to be able to move for now, giving Lowe a reprieve. Lowe Misses. The Bird Sprints. The Ball uses Charge. The Ball's Sp Def goes up 1 CS. Bree hits with Psychic. Silvally takes an injury and is Staggered. The Warrior hits Austin with Cross Chop. Austin uses Protect. The Bug Sprints. Bergmite uses Powder Snow. The Bug is Frozen. Silvally is Chilled.

When the second barrier goes up, Silas gets concerned. How is he supposed to heal his team now? Most of their attackers can fly, so they might have given the enemy an advantage. His fears soon prove correct, as the bird flies closer. Fortunately, he still has one ball-o-chemicals left. Priming it, Silas moves into position and throws the weapon straight at the aggressor. After previous failure, Sera goes for a more reliable attack. Leaves manifest from ...somewhere and pelt the Silvally with perfect accuracy. "Sera, fall back! This one won't stay down forever." As instructed, she moves a few paces along the barrier, ready to deal with the first threat to arrive on the upper level. Silas move to L5, Sleep Pesterball on the Bird. AC 6: 18
Sera Magical Leaf on Silvally, move to L7. Crit Check: 13 DB 6: 51

Silas' throw is true, and he manages to hit the alighting bird, which begins to doze off. Mercy takes a much more proactive approach, firing off a beam at the approaching ball, knocking it around wildly. It doesn't seem to be able to take a lot of punishment. The Silvally, on the other hand, does. And continues to do so even as Sera slices it up with the leaves of energy. After barely reacting to the attack, it seems to concentrate for a moment, the crystals on its head seeming to darken, before it lashes out at Lowe. Fortunately, the Luxio is able to dodge out of the way of the semi-frozen chimaera. Silas hits with the Pester Ball. The Bird is now Asleep. The Ball takes 2 injuries from Psybeam. The Bird continues to Sleep. Sera hits with Magical Leaf. Silvally triggers Protean. Silvally misses Lowe with Bite.
