Kopi seems reluctant to fight, but puffs itself up in preparation anyway.

"Now we're talking!" Clay has no idea what's up with the weird lady, but if it finally lets them get their hands on the thief he's not complaining. He circles around, trying to flank the thief and make sure they can't get away. "Alright, buddy. Give back our Pokémon and maybe you'll walk away from this. Sis, deal with the dog."
Fan bares her teeth as she squares off against the Growlithe. She makes the first move, she darts at the Growlithe, swiping at it with her claws.
Then Clay declares, "Time's up!" He drops into a spin, sweeping his staff out at the thief's legs to try and trip them up.

The Growlithe shoots a nasty glare at Clay, then begins to growl and bark. (Intimidate on Clay. -1 Attack CS.)
Growlithe uses Roar! At the end of the Round, all foes within a Burst 1 are forced to immediately Shift away using their highest movement capability. If the target is an owned Pokemon and ends the Shift within 6 meters of its Poke Ball, it is immediately recalled. (Since you only have the one right now, this means Fan is out of the fight as long as Growlithe is out.)

The Thief is battered and blasted, but stays on their feet. They throw a vial at Tiki's feet which shatters, releasing a cloud of purple smoke.

The sheer force of Tiki's scream sends Fan and Clay tumbling in opposite directions - and they just keep going as the Growlithe roars out a challenge. Fan is a little slow in recovering; apparently that shout really did a number on her. She moves back in as quickly as she can, and drops down to balance on her hands as she lashes out at the Growlithe with both feet.
Clay shakes off the urge to run as well and moves back into the action to lash out at the thief in a flurry of blows from his hands and the end of his staff.

The Growlithe howls, raising its master's spirit as it crumples under Fan's blows. Growlithe uses Helping Hand on Thief! Thief gains +2 Accuracy and +10 damage to their next attack.

Fan manages to lash out with a flame-wreathed fist at the thief as they pass, even when the cloud of gas around the new Pokémon leaves them all coughing.
Struggle: AC 4 vs FLHnmg_Q1d20, 1d8+17 Physical Fire damage (Firestarter)
Clay manages to rasp out an order for Fan even between the choking smoke and the shock of being shoved out of the way when Rei takes the thief's knife. "We got him on the ropes! Take care of the smelly thing!"
Fan is all too happy to do so, spitting burning embers up at the round Pokémon. Meanwhile, Clay whirls his staff around in a strike aimed right at the thief's head. He tends to avoid that, since head injuries can do a lot of damage if one's not careful, but he's not in a particularly charitable mood.

Rei jumps in front of the attack, taking it herself to protect Clay. But she's not had a lot of time to prepare herself, so the attack still does quite a bit of damage. Inbetween that and Tiki's attacks, she's already starting to weaken. Despite this, she bites down and does another dance meant to weaken the purple ball. Kopi now switches targets and continues to peck away. Kopi holds actions until after Rei

The toxic gas blows right in Fan's face, and she wobbles and falls. "Fan!" Clay rushes over to her as the cloud of smog clears, but he wobbles and drops to his knees, coughing hard.
Fan faints. Clay shifts to Fan's square.
