It throws its little arms up as it uses you as a slide. Vulpix can be seen rolling its eyes at the antics. It begins grooming itself, fluffing its tails up as if saying "I'm much better than that thing."

The little electric guy is caught! It's Male, level 9, Brave, with Cute Charm. Vulpix continues to watch you out of the corner of its eye as it resumes the grooming session.

Rei lets Zumu get deactivated and the little young Pikachu take it's place. She thinks of re-releasing it to make sure it knows what in the world happened, but pauses when she notices the Vulpix looking at her. She scoots closer to it.
"That little one was a handful wasn't it? It reminds me of a friend of mine. But you didn't seem to want to be bothered, so I was happy to distract it for you."
Rei looks at it's coat for a moment.
"Now if I'm correct, a level-headed Vulpix was treated to a nice brushing by a very nice white-haired girl days ago.
Has that Vulpix been keeping good care of itself?"

Its coat seems to be in good condition. It obviously gets fed by well-meaning people, though not necessarily groomed by them. Still, it's coat looks nice and shiny for a Wild.

Vulpix stops grooming itself to look you straight in the eyes. Kinda creepy, actually. Kinda like it's judging you to see if you're worthy. After what seems like an unblinking eternity (of a full 10 seconds), it finally breaks eye contact by blinking. It gets up, stretching and yawning. It looks at you expectantly. Seems you've won it over/been found worthy.
Vulpix is (obviously) female, level 5, Patient, with Flash Fire.

Rei gives the Vulpix a few nice pets.
"Welcome... Koto."
She holds out a ball for the Vulpix to accept, and once she does, Rei looks to the young Pikachu's ball.
"And... Hikari for you."
She thinks for a moment before deciding to let the Vulpix back out. Rei, not wanting to let her walk around on her own, carefully holds the Vulpix in her arms as she walks back to the guild. These pokemon captures certainly make her feel a little better, although she does realize she's got two pairs of pokemon who dislike eachother for different reasons, and will have to be careful with who she travels with.

This time they stop scribbling away and turn to face you. The guy adjusts his face-lenses.
"Oh. You're not Regi. Apologies, young lady, but I'm very busy and I don't have time to entertain children right now. I've just managed to stabilize the arcane matrices of this homunculus here. This is the longest I've managed to keep it active and I need to focus on learning everything I can about it."
He immediately goes back to his note-taking, without stopping to explain what the heck 'arcane matrices' or 'homunculus' mean.

He actually stops again, and looks at you with a raised eyebrow.
"Is that so? Have you knowledge of alchemy then? Or does your field of study lie elsewhere? I find that young folk like yourself often don't have as much appreciation for the subtlety of Alchemy. They prefer the flashier, more 'exciting' stuff, or just plain don't have the patience for proper study."

Rei takes out her own journal, and begins sketching a 'rough' diagram of the creature in question. Despite the roughness, it's still quite good, Rei just didn't want to keep the man waiting for a few minutes as she did a full sketch.
"I'm just quite good at observation and study, and can help in different ways. I just thought I would offer, but if you do not need it I will leave you to your study and be on my way."

"I'll tell you what, young lady: You agree to become my field researcher, and I'll pay you.. shall we say... 10 gold crowns per week? That's quite a lot for simple observations."
