Holly is currently watching Honedge and Golett perform a staring contest. As Rei looks over the papers, she notices that... they're just poems. Random poems about random, nonsensical stuff are written all over the majority of the papers. There's next to nothing about this place or the Pokemon in it at all!

"Poetry, of course! This place inspired me to take it up!" She blushes slightly when she realizes Rei saw some of it. "I..er.. haven't really shared it with anyone but Golett and Porygon though. I'm not confident enough to do that." A fair number of the poems seem rather dark, talking about death and despair and such. Strange, as this woman doesn't seem like she's depressed at all. In fact, she seems quite contented.

"I...suppose there's no harm in allowing you to read some." She shuffles some of the pages towards Rei, quirking an eyebrow at Holly's antics behind Rei's back. Holly seems to be trying to get Golett to blink by making faces at it or something.

She starts but looks to Holly.

"Yes it does!" She exclaims, pointing at the things where it's eyes ought to be. "Those are its eyes! It even told me so." Golett continues to just stand there dutifully, holding up all the papers that are piled on its little palette. It does, however, spare Rei a glance that seems to say 'I have eyes, but cannot blink', or at least, that's the impression Rei gets.

She giggles at Holly and looks to the poem in her hand.

Holly pouts when she realizes Rei is right. Not that she'll admit it out loud though! The poem isn't anything special, really. Just more of the same. (Also, your GM can't write poems worth crap and doesn't want to steal someone else's.)

The poet acknowledges this possibility, finding the idea quite fascinating. "If you aren't here specifically to keep me on task, then why are you here? Perhaps I can be of assistance? I've been exploring this place and the next level down for quite some time, and every time I visit, I seem to find something new. Some small detail that I missed before. It's a wonderful feeling for a researcher like myself: I never know what I'll find next!"

The rest of the first level is uneventful. Seems like Team Reilly has given the local Ghost Pokemon reason to pause before outright attacking them. After another 10 minutes of walking from the researcher's study/poetry room, the girls reach a large set of stairs leading down further. This staircase seems to curve subtly as you head down, eventually tightening into a spiral pattern. At the bottom of the stairs, the newest hallway forks in two directions: left and right.

After exiting the Pupitar Room, Team Reilly heads down a long hallway around the corner. Near the end of the hall, Holly suddenly stops and glances at the nearby wall on her right.
"Rei? I can feel something in this direction. It feels kinda like a weaker version of D'Mara. It's faint though, like it's far away."

She feels the wall with Holly for a while before turning to her.
"Could you or one of your pokemon make the attempt to phase through the wall to see if something is there?"

Holly lightly bangs her head against the wall, muttering 'stupid', suggesting that she had completely forgotten she could do that. She releases Banette to do the job, since the Marionette Pokemon hadn't seen battle yet. It quickly phases through the wall to see what may lie beyond it. After a few minutes, it returns and relays the information back to Holly, who translates for Rei.
"Banette says there is a passage on the other side of this wall that extends for quite a ways. She didn't see how far, but it goes on for several minutes at least. No idea exactly which direction it goes in though, nor how to open it. Banette didn't see any way to open it from the other side."
