Rei - Solo RP & Special Missions

"Welcome to the club. About the mind-reading thing. It's not really new for me."

Rei looks down.

"And I don't trust it either. Something still feels wrong but I'm unsure. I don't think we can say no to help now though... But... I don't know if I trust anyone right now."

She shuffles.

"What things have you not being telling anyone that it read?"

Rei is taken aback by Holly's sudden volume increase. She steps back.

"...Fine. Treat me like a child again and make decisions for me. I guess I'm just 'too crazy' to be involved. It's not like you are the love of my life and I care about you or anything and want to know about the things in your life..."

Rei looks away, obviously hurt.

"Whatever doesn't 'upset' me again. I guess I'll just have no agency in my life anymore."

Rei turns back, fighting tears of her own.

"I know you just want to keep me safe! But I have to keep YOU safe too! If I lose you it might as well be like I'm dead, you are all I really have left!"

Rei turns, not really being able to look Holly in the eyes right now.

"I used to be so confident and strong, and now I feel like a wisp of my former self. Every time something happens, either I'm beat or I barely get through and my body starts to fail, and it feels like I haven't gained any ground in strength or training or anything. Everytime someone has to do something I used to do, if it's something like take charge of heading here; which Clay took, or even say something to the others; which you took... It just feels like I lose a bit of my self. I wasn't going to pretend things weren't gonna happen... I was going to talk to Clay maybe in private, because Tiki doesn't care, and warn him. And maybe he could pass it along to her."

She sighs weakily.

"Again. This is my fault again. All I've done is just took a perfectly beautiful person and corrupted her to fret over me. I'm clearly not worth it."

Rei runs in front of her, tears more streaming down her face.

"I was talking to you! Don't do this! Don't be a hypocrite! You can't tell me to internalize and then walk away."

Rei in her sadness and partial fury, pushes Holly back.

As she spills the info, Rei is shocked into silence. This is the exact thing Rei was thinking on and...

Holly.

Holly pulled her back from that thought.

Literal days ago.

Said that the Usurper must have been crazy to do this. That even if both of them and all their pokemon teamed up on one it wouldn't be enough unless it was already weakened. That there was probably a 'price' to do something like that.

And a couple of visits with beings of power has made her forget all her own good advice.

Rei is PISSED. Why would she do something so suicidal? When she wouldn't let Rei do it? If Holly dies that's it. Rei's rock is gone, and her spirit is broken. Usurper wins, everyone dead. That's not happening. The same fury she had from their meeting with Tiki surges back out.

"HOLLY GET BACK HERE NOW!"

You know what, she has a history of not listening. She'll have to fight through Rei herself to continue this quest. She throws Gryz out ahead of her and starts running after Holly. She pulls something out of her seed bag and tosses it before giving an order to Gryz.

"Gryz, Fire Fang on her Honedge! YES I REALLY MEAN IT! DO IT NOW!"

Gryz rushes forward and leaps to try to clamp down on the sword while Rei's sleepy spores fall above Holly herself.

"Holly turn back over."

Once she (if) does so, Rei looks at her.

"What do you remember from yesterday?"

Rei feels the fear as well, as well as guilt for thinking that Holly would do this on her own.

"You didn't hurt me. Or scare me away."

Rei just looks off and Holly will probably feel that yes indeed, Rei's love hasn't wavered. Especially now that she knows that Holly didn't have control of her actions. Even though Holly doesn't quite understand why she's feeling these things.

"I guess I'll fill you in on the rest now. We started to fight, and then Clay showed up and attacked us both to make us stop but you said that you 'felt' something you couldn't control and then ran off after something healed you. I guess in retrospect I know what that was now..."

There's another pang of anger but Rei continues.

"The others were chasing after you but you left Trevenant out and I followed her. It led back to the swamp, which is where you were headed. We hoped we could head you off before you did something while under that control that would get you killed. I followed Trevenant alone and it led back to the cave. And we found your sister in the middle of cleansing you of something. It seems when D'mara had you she messed with your mind somehow. And she managed to finish and before I could do anything she knew I was there. She blamed me for what happened to you. And then said that either she was going to take you away from me or what she ended up doing. She cursed us to bind us together. We now share feelings, pain, and even our lives. And told me to be more 'careful' and to control my emotions because now they affect you. And if I die, you go too. She basically cursed you just to teach 'me' a lesson. It's one thing to blame me and then punish me, but you?"

"Maybe you can go yourself, she obviously hates me..."

And if Rei does go, all the confused Love/Hatred from both of them may undermine the point of their argument. But that's cut off as Holly hugs her and begins to cry, and she 'literally' now can't help but hug back and start crying a bit herself.

"Of course not, Holly... Why would I hate you? I was fighting you cause I knew if I'd let you go I'd probably never see you again, but that was before it was clear something else was at fault. I mean after your sister, I literally carried you all the way back here in my arms. I wasn't going to let anyone take you away from me after all of that. If I did something like that after chasing you around the continent in the first place and 'did' hate you then I'd be doing something horribly wrong."
