Rei groggily gets up and returns her pokemon. She tries her best to shake herself awake. After doing her bit of training and morning prep, she decides against making something for herself and just eats the stuff that was brought with. (I mean that'd be rude, right? To let everyone else just eat the rations.) Sorra probably knows better anyway.
She manages to get it down and packs up her things and waits for the others.

The "rations" turn out to taste amazing somehow. The presentation is awful, and you brace yourself to choke it down, but they taste pretty good. Plain, but good.
"Now that everyone's eaten and had a chance to wake up, we will be headed on in. Rei, Maya, I hope you're ready for this." With that, Sorra leads the charge into the cave.

Oh well that just the food lying to Rei. She chomps through the rest now knowing it's secrets. As Sorra approaches her, she gets up, sending Alligapod and Magnes out to flank her.
"I believe I'm as ready as I can be, Miss Shields. Please lead the way."

No sooner have the group set foot into Rock Tunnel then Rei's keen eye spots a berry just lying on the ground. Picking it up to get a closer look, it turns out to be a Nomel Berry.

After Rei is revived, Maya seems to be frowning while Sorra is more concerned with Rei's health.
"You took quite a few nasty hits there, Rei. Are you alright to continue? I won't lie and say I wouldn't be disappointed, but I'd understand. We've only just begun to push into the tunnel and things are only going to get worse from here."

Rei finally gets up after a moment, rubbing her ears to try to get sound back. Her confidence going in has taken an immediate hit, but she tries her best to suppress it. She's clearly still upset, however.
"It just caught me by surprise."
Rei speaks that flatly before getting up, applying a healing item to herself and Alligapod, and continuing down the tunnel before her own insecurities and worries catch up.

The small Pokemon immediately back-flip off from each other and take up position in front of Rei. They raise their little fists in challenge!

Rei knows she needs to be a bit more careful this time to avoid problems. She does her defensive and slightly offensive dance, and Duch floats forward, attempting to even out the numbers by putting one to sleep! Rei uses Power Pirouette Yoroi step, raising her defense two stages and her attack one.
Duch uses Hypnosis on #5

Early the next morning, Rei hears rustling from her bag, along with soft, happy? growling. As she carefully sits up to see what's going on, she spots a small brown bear-like Pokemon with its paw in one of the Honey jars Tiki gave her. It happily sucks the honey off its paw.

Rei wakes with a bit of a panic, but breathes a sigh of relief when it's just something rummaging around in her bag. Seems to be a constant with her, meeting pokemon that are trying to get food out of her. Quite a few Eevees, including the two she caught, Zumu, and plenty of pokemon that love to take advantage of her.
Fortunately for this one, she's too nice to say no in most occasions. She calmly reaches toward it.

It growls an assent of some kind and continues sucking on its paw. Now that it's looking at Rei, she can see it has a cute little crescent moon marking on its head.

It happily takes the jar and sticks its paw back in to get another helping. It sits there calmly, sucking the honey off its furry paw. If Rei checks the Tome, she finds that this Pokemon is called "Teddiursa", and that its paw naturally tastes sweet from all the honey it is soaked in. Honey of its own making, no less. Of course, living in a cave, the materials for honey (certain plants and beedrill pollen) are scarce if not unheard of. So naturally it was attracted to the scent of Rei's honey. It's crescent mark glows faintly as it eats.

Rei just watches it eat away while she gets ready and does her morning tags. She enjoys the sight of the cute thing eating.

She leaves it alone for a little bit as she gets ready but once it seems she can't do more without moving she tries to carefully pick it up and move it to the floor next to her.
