Rei - Solo RP & Special Missions

Holly is somewhat awake when Rei gets back. If asked what's going on, she merely states 'girl problems', which is all that needs saying. Apparently, Holly's status as 'half-human/half-Pokemon' or whatever isn't all perks. Seems it comes with all the usual 'accessories' of being female. On the plus side, this means she's technically fertile? Not that that helps the yuri couple any.

Holly leans against Rei. "I'm fine. Just a particularly nasty round of 'girl troubles'." She mutters softly before looking up at Rei. "Anything you need help with? Want to talk about the armor thing?"

"Hmm. Tough choice, it seems." Holly comments.

Holly nuzzles Rei a little. "Rei. You're doing that thing again. Where you overthink everything. Just keep it simple. Pick an option, even if that option is 'not worth it', just pick one and go with it. No what-ifs, no nothing. Just make a decision and roll with it. You'll only get yourself all worked up again, and that's not good for you."

Holly groans in exasperation as Rei declares herself to be 'wrong and crazy' again. Rei's lucky that Holly loves her so much, else she wouldn't be able to put up with Rei's constant self-doubt.

Rei is able to pick up a spare set of armor and a shield from Sorra, but they're just that: spares. (Armor is Light, granting DR 5 vs phys attacks; heavy armor would grant DR vs all attacks). The shield is just a slightly battered shield. Not the best quality gear, but a good starting point.

And in what feels like not long at all, Rei is awake again. She just lets Holly sleep off her 'girl troubles' for now, instead heading out. She waits in the common room for a while, but there seems to be no sign of Clay, Tiki, or Zoey. For once she seems to be the only one here and up. Everyone must still be out.

She sits and thinks for a while. She still has a few things to concentrate on.

The underground city and it's exploration.

Recruiting more for herself.

Backup supplies for the base.

And now heading to Cinnabar to get armor and a shield for herself.

She wants to take Holly's advice, but if it's stupidly far away they shouldn't take the risk, right? She's gonna go to the library, they HAVE to have a map she can copy to see, right?

As Rei looks over the map, it's very clear that it's just too far. She had figured that since they reached the ocean south so quickly, it would be a bit closer... Now without the end of the world approaching, that would be a fun vacation for her and Holly. But that's too much time to just spend on her own protection. She'll just stick with what Lady Sorra gave her. She can't spend the extra money she's got to commission the armor either. She 'could' but it's so much that could be spent otherwise. She still wants to keep her money for supplies for the new base of hers, and may still be able to use it as a carrot to get people to work for her.

She puts the maps away, now clearly annoyed. She 'should' be able to spend this time and money on herself. But she's now thinking like a tactician in a war rather than just an adventurer. Y'know, for the thing she is being basically guilted into doing? 'Oh hey do this or the world dies, you are the only one who can do it'. None of this is fair. And everyone and everything that is part of this is all out of reach somehow. Save for one... maybe two but she's currently hanging out with Zoey. The other may have just been a trigger of her own issues, but Rei admits that it would feel so good just to head down and beat the hell out of her.

That woman in the castle basement. The one surrounded by the creatures. She needs something, needs a clear win that isn't just a friend vanishing into the wind. She equips her hand me down armor and shield, grabs her test-broadsword and pass, and heads to the castle. She'll leave Holly out of this, she'd just stop Rei from doing this. She's got to do this herself.

Rei stops for a moment to collect her energy. She didn’t even realize how far she had trodded until her legs were yellling at her to stop. She’s a bit lost now, but she had at least the sense of the floor she was on, which at least means there’s gotta be that main pathway somewhere, right? She readies her shield and gets back up to head in.
